if you already know how to play Tekken then go get it.
my main issue w/ the game was at times when playing the good players like Dave, JO and a few other guys i felt as if i had zero control of my character. i was basically a punch dummy for them. i have never felt like that in any fighting game i have ever played in my life.
who ever gets the 1st pop up wins 90% of the time from what i seen.

Tekken has way too many attacks, trying to do half of them is silly.
once some one like yourself and JO do a pop up on their foe, you then follow doing attacks that keep their foe in the air all the way to the corner/wall, by that time their health is pretty much gone.
its harder to get out of the corner/wall then in MKD, i hate feeling defenseless.
i spent hours in practice mode learning how to do the moves only to find myself button mashing, because the moves i wanted to come out didnt come out because i slightly fucked up the direction on the dpad.
anyway the game has alot of stuff that ID like for a MK game to have, but it also has alot of stuff i dont want to see in a MK game EVER!!
Basically IM TOO STUPID FOR TEKKEN.

Tekken isn't that hard,it's just more "Realistic",Nothing like the crappy gameplay that you'd see in MK.That's really the only reason I can think of for not being able to understand it.
The physics are a little complicated, but other than that, the game is fairly simple. You wouldn't have to button-mash if you'd gotten into the series a little earlier or practiced enough to have them branded within your mind.
Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Tekken ~ its not "Realistic" WWE is more Realistic.
also its not that i cant remember the moves, i did that. its when im getting smacked around and the only way i can put up a fight while getting smacked around is by button mashing.
anyway GGs Shogun.

o.k this is my plan. i'll save up to get Uncharted, after i get that i'll get tekken. its lame that its 30.00 but whatever, i need to play some kinda fighting game til T6 comes out. I don't really want MK2, (sorry Dan) if it was UMK3 I'd be thirsty for it.

Man I can't even begin to describe how awesome Virtua Fighter 5 is. First off, I can't not mention it's pretty fuckin glorious in HD...
My experience with the online play has been superb, only about 90-95% of the games i've played have been lag free! (I've had maybe two bad connections in 50ish online games over the two weeks I've had it). It's true you have to select a character before you challenge anyone, ranked or not, and only get one match when not inviting a friend. I actually don't mind this because it pushes you to play different opponents more often, and unless you've been playing VF for 10 years I don't think it's likely you'll be hopping from character to character between matches. (Tho you could just hit B and take the 5 seconds to do so before your next fight)
So I play a new character Eileen for three reasons. She's new to everyone, I've had little experience with VF in the past, and she was the only character I felt I could do anything with in the 360 demo. Ok 4th reason... She's completely NON-Linear! Eileen can finish any string with any of a variety of staggers, powerful mids, dodging maneuvers, or follow ups which have 4 or 5 of their own options. (Not to mention the fact VF innately allows you to buffer into any move from any other move if you play your frames right.) Eileen's smooth like a mix of peanut butter and velvet with a 10 frame jab!
There is such variety in the characters it makes my head spin, but none of them break the mold of Execution, Active, and Recovery frames. It's obvious a LOT of effort was put into the balancing the risk & reward of each move.
Anybody else playing this on 360, hit me up.
Anybody play VF at all?
Oh, this thread is for Tekken? My bad

Dude, like I said, the attacks are extremely simple and the notations all make sense. You've just gotten used to Mortal Kombat so much and their simple notations.
You're right, though. The damage is still a little too high off juggles. Many high level players complain about it, and so do I. However, all standard juggles should be easy to do. In addition, MK:A would be played the exact same way off-line. You have to play carefully not to get juggled, and you have to know the risk/reward ratio once you're grounded. I saw a match of you a long time ago back-rolling against Jade-OWN's Julia. That is the worst thing to do against her because elbows will just catch you again and again.
Tekken is definitely not hard to play. You use 15+ moves altogether, most of which are generic to every character, during gameplay.
so i can get out of that elbow juggle thing?
if so why the fuck didnt he tell me?? WTF
HELLO NOOB HERE, IF IM DOING SOMETHING STUPID TELL ME TO STOP AND HOW TO AVOID DOING THAT STUPID THING.
i can under stand if i didnt ask for help, but i did in this thread a few times.
my main struggle w/ the game are the wake ups and how not to get hit while trying to get up after being grounded.
this is why i kept losing to one of shoguns characters. every time he grounded me he'd do this run and kick thing each time i swear i blocked high ~ i got hit, i blocked low ~ i got hit.
i feel so helpless after im grounded its annoying.

Got TDR for PSP, it owns MKA, period. I'm pretty good with Jack, Devil Jin and Dragunov. But I'm okay with nearly anyone.
Dan, there are many ways to roll out of a downing. Have you tried siderolling (1/d+1)? What about trying wakeup kicks (3/4/d+3/d+4)?
If you did, I'm not sure what to do. Maybe do a fast counter hit like Bryan's f,f,2, Heihachi's d,3+4,1,Feng's b+1 or Lee's f+4.
I'm no pro online or off, but I can do things.
