No MRS...2 b+2s dont work, and check my post..i edited it.
Versatile I think you need to check your 52% hit sub combo again as in no way shape or form does it work at the slightest, look at it.
You start b+2 then goto a CS (ok so far) then your in shoto and do a 1,2,cs(then your in dragon) do a 1,2,4 WHAT???? first off I dont think its possible to hit a 1,2,4 dragon after a 1,2,CS shoto ,but its clear this is screwed up in the fact that after a 1,2,4 dragon your opponent hits the ground AND IS IMPOSSIBLE to hit after that as a juggle.

Josh is right Versatile. That combo is screwed up. b+2 in kori and cs is fine but then you are saying 1,2 in shotokan, cs to dragon, 1,2,4. I'm guessing the combo you were trying to list was:
Kori: b+2 cs,1,2,4 cs,2,cs
That still isnt 52% though. So far the highest I have found was 8-hits 44%. To do that you just add in another b+2 at the beginning of the combo(8-hits because the 2 in dragon always seems to miss. Occasionally the cs before the 2 will miss and you will get 42%).

Good luck. Anbody who had a hand in Psi-Ops needs to be appreciated in this industry. It's a shame that MK is pushing away so many people that were there playing in the arcades from day one. Sooner or later the fanbase isn't going to have anyone who actually remembers when MK1 and MKII came out. And dude, make a fighting game. I mean one of these days be the team lead of a fighting game whatever it may be.
Ok, I found an fun strategy with hotaru after reading a post about floe or someone playing him. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CORRECT IT OR ADD TO IT! id love to know more.
Ok, I pretty much play the whole thing in Pi Gua, here goes:
you can chain cast lava blast (if u get the timing right) and if the first one hits, then you catch them with a 2,2,u+1 and you get free 33%. If the first one is blocked, and the second one is blocked, they'll expect a third so you dash forward and grab or b+1 if theyre crouching and blocking, and continue with 2,2,u+1 (30% from throw, 33% from b+1).After that you can mix up with b+1 or throw, and from both you can continue with 2,2,u+1.
instead of throw, sometimes i use b+2(or d+2..) whatever his sweep in pi gua is. Just because you can hit with it earlier. So if you think they'll block high, sweep, sweep then b+1 and 2,2,u+1.
only time ive had a use for grasshopper so far was when an ermac would throw me, then go up for a mystic bomb. right after the throw id come out instantly with grasshopper.
Im sorry if this is confusing, im not very good at writing this in an organized manner. anyone feel free to re-write it for me if you understand it.
AND PLEASE, by all means, tell me how to make it better. I realize its simple and uses 1 combo, but I havent found a means of adding on to this combo, and I dont see a need for using a different combo. Any other strategies whatsoever with Hotaru in pi gua would be nice =\ cuz i dont know what else there is.

some 1 sounds a little bitter..
*dont bash me i know who ray is*
A nice combo for Smoke (with a little assistance from Noob Saibot
) that does 46% damage.
Starting in Mit Zu stance (obviously), 7 hits for 46%: F, F+4, D, B+2, 1, 2, 4, CS, 1
I have a few more for Smoke that aren't as damaging as the first combo, but I'll post them anyway.
8 hits for 44%: U+4, U+4, D, B+2, 1, 2, 4, CS, 1
8 hits for 44%: U+4, F, F+4, D, B+2, 1, 2, 4, CS, 1
5 hits for 36%: F, F+4, D, B+2, 1, 2, F+2
There are more but these were the ones really worth mentioning, I fealt.

Bump. Havent been playing but i agree with u with hotaru. He isnt a really flashy character. His strengths are his power and mix-up game. In his initial stance...you can mix-up 1,b+3 and 1,3 for big damage (24% for two hits) the only downside is that the moves are slow and are unsafe. Pi gua also has great mixups, f+2 is a great mid-attack IMO and a good death trap move. So far, his strongest juggles end with pi gua's 2,2,u+1. His grasshopper can be used after ur opponent misses a projectile or dash attack P.S. - MKL/Neo, did u attend TiT 6 in the summer for DoA?

Yeah, like he said. Come on fellas lighten up. You know this game is fun. I usually use Noob-Smoke and I found a bunch of fun tricks and set ups involving the smoke move for combo set ups. The game is fun and thats what counts . It has just enough technique to keep me interested. Not to mention lag-free online play is a blast. once again remember to stop trying to play this game like as if it were Tekken or VF4, this game plays more like a mix between a 2D fighter (my personal favorite) and a 3D fighter. Apply more of your 2D prowess and use set ups and you'll find out how this game should be played. Its not all about combos, its a balance between tricks and combos as I'm sure all of you already know that Ray, quit being lame and give it a chance...I keep finding fun characters to learn and kill with..

I also know that most of you like the game in some shape or form otherwise we wouldn't be posting here.
Take care guys.
Just a few random things:
01. Why the fuck has this thread not been stickied yet?
02. Glad to hear about Ray's new job.
03. I'm sure almost everyone has noticed this, but the CPU is even easier to throw than in DA. Instead of blocking, it ducks and then tries to counter attack. So all that's needed is to press the throw button and then start circling, then pull off a successful throw during the counter-move.
BTW, I know that strategy is useless against a person, but thought I'd share anyway.
04. General question, but who do you guys think is THE top tier character this time around? And are they as dominant as Scorp was in DA?

I haven't really read all the posts here, so it's possible that SOMEONE beat me to this, but just for the fun of it, here's something for Jade.
In terms of strategy, the best things I've found for her are to use a well-timed sidestep and fire off a sick branch combo before they have a chance to stop attacking and block. She has a few killer low attacks, like simply pusing X in Kuo Shou stance, as this move comes in fast, and has a pretty solid range. Also, Back and X and down and X come in handy in her Bojutsu stance. Back and X seems to have one of the longest ranges on a low attack that I've seen yet. Problem is that neither of them puts the opponent on the ground, and from what I've seen, almost anything you do with Jade leaves you vulnerable if you're blocked.
So, I like to rely on fast side-stepping or blocking someone else's slow hits and responding with large combos. The following combo is not easy to do, and requires good timing, but it's guaranteed to do 54% if you land all twelve hits.
START IN BOJUTSU.
2, 3, CS, *while moving in as they fall* 2, 2, 1, CS, 4, CS, 1, UP + 3.
This slaps the living crap out of them. As a nice bonus, when playing Jade, people don't hesitate to break any of her combos, as she can do disturbing amounts of damage in no time flat, so those breakers run out fast, leaving you with many chances to land this beast.
Also, for a lot less damage, 39%, I think, but a VERY impressive combo, you can do the following, even though you've got to be VERY quick about moving in after the pop-up and landing the second combo as they fall:
2, 2, 1, CS, 4, CS, 1, UP + 3 *rush in as they bounce* CS, 2, 2, 1, CS, 4, CS, 1, UP + 4.
Sadly, this massive combo won't do nearly the damage you can do with a shorter one, but if you land it, they're being hit for damn near fifteen seconds. It's a nice way to leave the guy on the other end of the wire choking.
Another fast combo I've found that does some nice damage is in Bojutsu:
2, 3, Back + 2, 2, 1, Up + X.
I think I got that one right, at least. If not, it's very close. I'm having trouble thinking at the moment, although I guarantee the above combos work nicely.
As far as strategy goes, her projectile is waaaay too slow, so I count that out entirely. The kick is fast, but has a short range. It's nice if you can get them backed up near a death trap, as you can swing at them, allow them to block, and while they retaliate, holding block, you tap backwards. The second you let go to retaliate, tap forward and 4. The kick comes in fast, and usually it'll land.
I like to style branch into her second style just to abuse the sheer number of fast, powerful hits she has in it. That 3 low attack is nice if you get them on the ground in a corner, and you expect them to come up blocking, or ducking if they expect you to throw them.
Just a few things I've found.

Would yall hop off my dick for a second? lol...
I made a TYPO. My juggle is legit, but I just typed it out wrong..here it is...
b+2,cs,1,2~1,2,4,cs,2,cs
THAT is the 51% with Sub. 40% when frozen.
The best in the game right now to me is Liu Kang, and I don't think any character will be as dominant as MKDA Scorpion for a very long time, but im thankful for that. Being a Sub player its good to know I can actually win most of my match ups now, even if they are uphill.
Im just curious to know who yall are gonna use during tournaments? For me it's going to be Sub and Noob/Smoke. Sub for 80% of the tournament, and Noob/Smoke for those certain match ups that Sub has a hard time with (vs Liu Kang,Dairou and shit like that). Back in MKDA I used to play Sub no matter what, but now im a bit smarter.

_NE0_ just stfu please. I'm not doubting that you're the best MK player. I've never played against you to actually know for a fact, but I don't really care. I also doubt anyone else cares either so I don't know why you find it necessary to tell everyone you're the best in every damn message you post. All you prove to everyone is you've got a big ass ego and you're full of yourself. Use this thread for high level gameplay. Not showing that you're a dumbass who sits around playing fighting games all day with a huge ego.
Anyways, nice combo Versatile. I've been messing around with Havik, but I can't find any really decent combos for him and his special moves aren't very good either.. He seems to be as bad as Kabal.

MK is more backwards than I originally thought. Not only is the game backwards but so is the community. You've got MKL who is the best player but hates the game. That alone is weird. To top it off, he's pissed because so many people talked shit to him. In what other community are the best players the one's taking the most heat? Isn't it usually these guys everyone else learns from? MKL, you'd tear me apart but I'll play you. I love losing to better players because that's the only way to get better. That's exactly what it took for me to become a better thinker at Smash Bros. Melee. Early on I was just running in swinging not really thinking at all.
And, Vers, maybe you should notify the staff. This thing still isn't stickied.
Also, is the PM system working? I've got the strangest feeling it's not since I sent a couple out and haven't gotten replies. All that happens is I get the message I sent in my own inbox.
Plus, don't forget to e-mail fightnight@mortalkombatonline.com with questions for the development team. Maybe this time they'll be faced with gameplay specific questions they won't be able to dodge.
