Ok here's the deal. A friend of mine is throwing a tourney in orlando, and he's thinking of thrpwing MKDA in the mix. I just wanna know who will be willing to come if there is one. So far, a few people they would show. And 99.9% sure that it's gonna happen. Anyway, reply to this post and let me know if you're gonna go and help me out anyway you can. Thanks.

I've been following this discussion for a while now and there's something I need to say. First of all, I'm not going to say I'm a 'high level top whatever' mk player. I'm just the kid (21 though wink )next door who loves MK and plays with a couple of friends just having fun. I have learned a lot from guys like konqrr, versatile, ray, mr., and U, MKL. I'm also not that good in playing video games, the only thing I'v ever achieved was getting a top 5 world time on Banshee board walk (MarioKart 64) LOL.
Just some background info from a guy that in your world goes by the name 'scrub' smile

Now, I'm not going to discuss wether you're the best mk:da player etc., I'm not going to call you names (I think we're all passed that stage, or aren't we?) and so on. But there's one simple observation I can make. You are very, very 'arrogant', and this downgrades your potential status as 'champion'.

Did Michael Jordan boast one time in his carreer? The really great champions are those who stay polite against the lesser players. They've got a good deal of modesty!

Maybe u can 'help' us and spread the knowledge u have about the game. I think that's what keeps me comming back to the game, the info from the other players that helps my (scrubby :-p) game. So why not inform us about 'all those mix ups. I'd really like to know them and I'll share them with all of my friends. Why no adult discussion with versatile and 'explain' what's wrong about his opinion.

In my eyes someone who's that arrogant and who insults everybody with another opinion can never be a 'champion', not if U beat every player out there.

I agree with all of that. I made my videos to share my knowledge of the game with anyone that is interested. I want the competition to be good. It sux that right now I dont have anyone I can play on a regular basis. So when I do play I want it to be challenging and fun.
So I think having an open forum to try to get more people involved on a competetive level is good. I think it is good for MK as a whole to get more people involved with the game in the way that it was meant to be played.
It is too bad that MKL is selfish and arrogant...he is a self proclaimed champion at best...if there were a national tourney with credibility...that actually made him champ. Maybe.

The true champ would have mastery of MK across the board Mk to MKDA
IF we did need to crown a champ thats how I would do it.
National tourney, every MK.
With at least 32 of the best MK players in the world.
We would find these players with a regional qualifier and championships...I could go on forever...I would need to hear some feed back about this.

Wait someone put me up to date here since I've been gone about 6 months. Why is MK_Legend calling people scrubs and acting like god here? Also, a MK Tier list? wow Never thought I'd see the day.

But of course you realize there's an 11 year old out there that would make short order out of all of you. I learned that pretty quick when I used to hit the arcades a lot.

But your a great trash talker. It's going to be great when MK6 goes online and we can see who the real badasses are. It's going to be a blast.

The more I look at it though, it seems like damn good ranking. I disagree here and there though. Like why Nitara is so low even though she has the most extreme power-up in the game and a 79% combo. She's below Cage for christs sake.

I think it may need a little tweaking here and there. I'm sure adjustments will be made over time.

I just realized the key flaw of that tier, all the females are underated. It should be more like this.

Top Tier
*******
1. Scorpion
2. Bo Rai Cho
3. Sonya
4. Shang Tsung
5. Drahmin
6. Reptile
7. Hsu Hao
8. Sub Zero
9. Frost
10. Jax

*******
Mid Tier
*******
11. Kung Lao
12. Kenshi
13. Quan Chi
14. Nitara
15. Kano
16. Kitana
17. Li Mei
18. Mokap
19. Raiden
20. Johnny Cage
21. Blaze

*******
Low Tier
*******

22. Mavado
23. Cyrax

I can only guess that some of you aren't spending enough time with the female fighters. Could be lots of reasons; male ego, gender identity, who knows. Yo man it's sexism! hehe

Frost was the only one that seemed to be about in the right place. Kano was underated as well, but I expected that. Most people don't know how to handle him correctly.

On the subject of Nitara, one thing I have discovered is that she MURDERS Drahmin dead. None of Drahmin's attacks are particularly fast, and Nitara's attacks are all very fast. If two players of equal skill were to come together in a Nitara vs Drahmin match up, I'll be willing to put money on the Nitara player winning. She can connect with those punches and kicks while Drahmin is still winding back ready to whack her. Not only that, but she has a much better high/low mixup game than Drahmin, especially with her Kamas. The unicorn kick is fricken strong if you can connect with it too (but you'd have about as much chance with connecting with it that Drahmin has of connecting with his super uppercut). And of course, her combo that breaks the 100% mark needs to be taken into consideration too.

This is exactly why I don't think creating a generic Tier List works. It just doesn't. Everybody has their own.

lol...............look nitara gets KILLED by drahmin. the fact that u dont see that and the fact that u think that Kitana can beat scorpion cuz tiers arent true, any character can beat any character shows that u dont know much abut this game or any MK. i'm still waiting for u to beat my Jax in MK2 with any character..............

LOL...

You forget things very easily, don't you?

I never said Tiers aren't true. I said everyone has their own Tiers. It depends on the player. You DO know what the word 'generic' means...right?

The fact that you don't see that indicates that you have much to learn...either that or you have a really bad memory. I also don't recall myself ever challenging you, but, if you want to get your jack-off material by playing me over a laggy network on a game that's nearly 10 years old...be my guest, I'm up for it.

How so? I thought White Pointer's explanation was pretty sound. Drahmin is very good, but most characters do seem to have some sort of nemesis.

Peace!

I'd like to see him explain that actually...

Just for the record...I actually back up what I say. I don't simply state something as if it's fact without any evidence to support it, and expect people to believe it. MKL does, and I'm afraid that just doesn't cut it.

Look, I'm not saying Drahmin is bad...I admit he's one of the better characters if you know how to use him properly. But, against Nitara, IN MY OPINION (note that MKL, my opinion, not yours) he's at a bit of a loss, for reasons I've previously mentioned. Same goes with Drahmin against Shang Tsung, although Shang's high/low mixup isn't quite as effective as Nitara's can be. He makes up for that though with his variety of moves. Yes, Drahmin also has a good variety of moves, but only the ground pound and the flies are really effective..as a skilled player can see his uppercut and clock punch coming a mile away. Those latter two moves are only really effective as part of a combo.

I know it's a bit obnoxious, but Legend is one of the few people that can actually live up to their trash talk. His cockyness is well placed.

BTW, I can only get Nitara's combo up to 87%. You can only go higher than that after if there's another factor; reversal, evade, weapon stance and so on. It's not a true 100%, is my point.

Well placed or not, no-one likes it.

You can actually get Nitara's combo as high as 112% without your opponent being able to evade or counter, but your opponent does need to have their back against the wall so they don't fall out of reach. So, if you are in practice mode trying this out, make sure this is the case first. Right then:

CS = Change Style

- Neijin in Fu Jow Pai
- Switch back to Leopard

1,1,1,CS,1,1,3,CS,2,CS,1,1,1,CS,1,1,3,CS

Clear as mud? Good...let's explain it a little better...

1,1,1,CS,1,1,3,CS is simple enough, it's her standard style branch combo that ends with a pop-up attack with her Kamas. After the pop-up, keep them in the air by juggling them once with 2. The juggle hit will send them skywards a little higher, allowing you time to switch back into leopard. So, switch back into leopard, then perform the style branch combo again while they are still in the air. It's possible to connect with the whole thing, but you've got to time it correctly. Don't start the combo when they are too high or too low in the air or you won't connect with it. Timing is crucial. This is also why the opponent needs to have their back to the wall...if they don't, they'll fall out of reach before you can finish this part of the combo. If you do it correctly, your opponent won't hit the wall and therefore they won't be able to wall-roll out of the combo. It may be easier to start the combo just a little distance from the wall, so you actually reach the wall after the pop-up attack.

Without Neijin - 17 hits 64%
With Neijin - 17 hits 112%

If the opponent has their weapon out, it's 25% more damage...so...

(Opponent in weapon stance)

Without Neijin - 80%
With Neijin - 140%

There ya go :)

How is typing like a 5 year old and calling everyone wrong "well placed"? Judging by his pictures and fruity ass Eminem haircut, he's probably just trying to be like his hero and be "controversial" by acting like an idiot. No admires it or likes it.

Ah, the corner combo, I wasn't trying that. I was just doing the powerup combo without the corner, that is 87%. I see.

And my point was that not liking him doesn't make his claims wrong. The more I listen to him, the more I find him to be right on the money. And I could care less about his pictures, watch his gameplay vids. You just don't see skills like that too often.

It is rather funny that someone so good with a controller could be so horrible with a keyboard hehe.

Drahmin blocking Nitara's 1,1,1,cs...he interrupts the 3rd hit with Iron Club 4. You're in Drahmin's world now.

Drahmin blocking pretty much anything...he throws you (one of the best throws in the game). You're in Drahmin's world now.

Drahmin sidesteps...Nitara flies by him with all of her linear moves. You're in Drahmin's world now.

Nitara is low tier. And if you start that combo you posted in the High Level thread with Fu Jow Pai instead of Leopard you get 116%. I have a 127% combo somewhere (no weapon or escape).

I think both Bill and White Pointer are wrong. First off. White, this is not to offend you, but Bill is correct. Bill(and most of the rest us) know more about the game than you do, so maybe instead of trying to learn the game yourself you should be open to the facts.

Bill, the "u have much to learn" reall wasn't neccessary. Stuff like that pisses people off. Instead of saying "u have much to learn", explain to white why Drahmin rips Nitara a part without phrases such as "lololololol..Nitara gets killed!" and stuff like that. It doesn't matter how good you are, people won't respect you if you do shit like that. I think you can be a good guy, don't show your ugly side like that. I mean, if someone just simply insults you are something then sure..get your back, but besides that theres a certain way to get your message across. I guarantee if you take my advice people will listen to you more.
