Wow...way to build the hype machine, then set it on fire. I totally get announcing a forthcoming Kombat Pack ahead of time to generate interest, but thinking that people will still be chomping at the bit to get their hands on it by 2016...eh. There's 4 months left in 2015, and they're talking about doing a DLC release "in the first half of 2016" which could be anywhere within a 10 month time frame.

It had better be a significant update for them to expect the interest to hold that long.

The question since the earliest promotion has been: Who's Next? Four silhouettes seem to confirm a long requested second Kombat Pack, with the identities of each download character presumably to be revealed - or at least hinted at - tomorrow!

The guessing game for deliberately obscured characters has already brought forth a torrent of wild speculation, and wishful thinking. Top suspects range from a confidently identified Bo' Rai Cho on the right, to Smoke, Noob Saibot, Baraka, Sindel and combinations thereof, from left to middle.

Will Fujin finally blow a mighty wind as a playable character - or will the proverbial "Martian Manhunter" have a longer wait in an increasingly extended DLC cycle? Could the unkempt hair of Silhouette #2 give Rain fans a redesigned reprieve, or is snap speculation of the likes of Michael Meyers or Leatherface ripe for more horror guest characters?

With so many characters from story mode in the firing line, it's certainly easy to see why "encore" was on Ed's mind.

Pretty big let down I have to say, was expecting at least a reveal of WHO is actually DLC but hey, probably reveal one at a time weeks apart I'm sure. Then there'll be more endless tweets about "Boon we want Rain" and "If Sindel isnt in KP2 Ill just die."

i want to be hyped but I have to agree with a lot of others. So many other games will be out by then I probably even wouldn't remember how to play anymore. I really do wish it was like ki with a character a month.

As calm of a person I am. I am still disappointed by what Ed Boon did but I will forgive him in a few days. It infuriates me a lot right now but I am keeping my cool. I am hoping that the trailer comes out really soon so the whining and fighting from all of us will end.

I'd wish he'd drop it first thing tomorrow and be like "Booyah! You were saying?"

But they'll enjoy dragging this out. We probably won't get a trailer until fucking November. This is so irritating.

People on twitter are pissed and saying he's giving fans a big FU haha and he's responding too..

I mean, its kind of a let down that we didn't get any character reveals and only an announcement for something we already knew about but its something to look forward to I guess.

The only thing I understand is how people could be upset by Boon spoiling the announcement early. They are going to make new characters from the ground up. Which means booking mobcap and voice over actors, drawing up more concept art, modeling, and gameplay balancing. That would defiantly take up the rest of the year at least, even if they had some of it done already. As far as them not saying who is in the pack, they gave themselves plenty of time to announce that later. Why was it nessercary to reveal it now?

We know it could take a while for DLC to come out. Most of us are not disappointed by that.

We're disappointed by how the hype was handled by Boon this time.

They've been dropping small hints of a KP2 for a while and after the 2 Pit pictures Boon tweeted "Tomorrow?" the WHO'S NEXT picture and the 4 silhouettes.

KP2 was pretty much confirmed by that point and we waited for a trailer. Not 2 little paragraph of confirmation. The wednesday tweet was a mistake and made us expect more.

Had he waited for the press release to post the teaser pic it would have been a whole different story.

We still like the game and we're will still buy the DLC. We were just lead to believe we'd finally know who's in KP2. Instead, we learned there was a KP2.

Because people are sick of Boons teasing. I want to know if it's even going to be worth a possible six month wait. People want to know if their favorite character will make it.

I'm ecstatic that we're getting another KP.

What I, and others, am pissed about is the fact that there was no reason for Ed to tease "Tomorrow?" with an image that essentially announced more characters in itself, only for the announcement to be "Hey we're making more characters."

The image spoke for itself, so there was nothing to tease for yesterday at all.

I'm making out Baraka, Bo Rai Cho, Cyrax, and Fujin. Still won't buy the game until they put Smoke or Sektor in.

I think it was a mistake to announce a Kombat Pack 2 this early, but the thing is, the community won't shut the fuck up about it.

Every Ed Boon tweet will be nothing to them but a subliminal message/hint about Kombat Pack 2.
Every MKast that ends without mentioning Kombat Pack 2 would continue to piss of the community for whatever reason. "omg i wasted my time watching this!111!"

I think they did this just to simply shut people the fuck up.

They don't owe you a list of characters right off the bat.

Characters just don't get created and balanced in a week, so stop crying about the 2016 release date.

And also to mention...with Street Fighter V coming out in March 2016.

Take a wild guess on why you have to wait for your characters.

Of course people won't stop crying. They think they're entitled to have everything handed to them. And if it's not, it's automatically declared as "bad marketing."

There are a crap ton of games coming out between now and spring of next year to keep you occupied since clearly people around here have no idea how developing a video game character works. I don't either, but at least I know it doesn't take a team a week to do so, that's just not even possible with today's technology.

And of course, some bright pupil here is going to quote me and ask, "u mad bro?" Again, I am not mad for trying to get through to a bunch of thick-skulled spoiled brats. No one owes you anything. They made an announcement saying that there's more stuff going to be added to this game, and that was that. Did they need to say this? Probably not, but you're following a known troll that loves to tease his fans. What in the holy mother of fuck did you expect from him? An honest Tweet for once? Face it, you're all upset because Boon didn't give you what YOU ALL wanted so now you're going to be upset and not play the game anymore. I see we already have a few users already claiming so. And now we're going to get a bunch of threads for the same topic, people will whine and bitch about how there's nothing to talk about again and it will continue in an endless circle. I feel sometimes that a bunch of users here just sits on this site, refreshes the page as well as their Twitter page, hoping that there is at least some sort of answer to their problems.

could't agree more you. this is extra stuff they don't need to give us, the fact that we got the 4 dlc with the skins and the free klassic fatalities i'm happy with anything, the 4 new dlc makes me even happier that they are still supporting the game

i will just be a bit upset if one of the dlc isnt a female. but you choose to buy the dlc no one is putting a gun to your head and forcing you.
