Sorry to everyone who feels differently but as it stands they are pretty bland humans that can fight good.

..Cassie's "abilities" incorporate military assistance which is sweet; she looks like a great addition to the roster.

But if cassie has the military corner on lock where can sonya extend her abilities into? Having two military based chicks would be redundant, and yes, a wasted spot. Even if one of the military chicks can kick wicked freaking good it is not enough of a difference to warrant a space in my opinion.

If you feel differently I can not help but assume you are thinking out of an emotional attachment to a favorite character: Sonya. And not logically.

Because two blonde military gals would have to have the exact same moves, the exact same clothes, and the exact same personalities, right? Like Sub-Zero, Sektor, Cyrax and Smoke were all obviously the same, being all Lin Kuei ninjas and such.

It's not about having two human's or two saurians or two shokan's its about have two character's that share the same "abilities".

Let's assume we get two saurian's, and these guys/gals can make themselves invisible and spit acid. THAT would be redundant and stupid.

So why have two chicks that can call in air strikes when you could just have one and be perfectly fine. If you argue that Sonya doesn't necessarily need military abilities in her arsenal then she would just be a pseudo military gal with no in-gameplay ties to the military besides an outfit and get this.. she can still kick awesome! and punch!

My whole point (which will fly over the heads of people like you) is that having a limited roster should mean having a unique roster. I guess I can't blame people for wanting their favorite character to be included but if a new suarian was announced that had standard saurian abilities (unlike Khameleon/chameleon who were created as a rainbow-ability ninja clone and then their story came after to flesh them out as saurian) like spitting acid then I would not want Reptile included.

Simple fact is that there are only 25 (at best) fucking spots on the roster, in a roster of 60 I would welcome both sonya, cassie and johnny into the game.

But now, with only 25 precious slots, its a freaking fucking waste.

I hate that this argument comes up every time these two characters plus Cassie are being discussed when A.) We have no idea how Sonya and Johnny are going to play like and B.) It's been shown that Cassie does not have a single move that is literally taken from both characters. No matter how many times it comes up, people still have a problem that three characters are going to be in this game.

I'm pretty sure that those who work on designing the special abilities for this game are thinking outside the box on how three characters that are from the same family will play differently. Seeing how we've seen what they have done so far with everyone, I'm fairly certain that these three will play nothing alike from one another.

Some of you are thinking it's un-creative, yeah well you know, this isn't anything special and we've seen from time to time that two characters with similar abilities can work in a game together. You got Ermac and Kenshi, Frost and Sub-Zero, everyone that possesses fire... It's not new, and I don't get why this is a fucking problem all of a sudden.

You're jumping to immediate conclusions without seeing everything first, basing your assumptions that three related character are going to play exactly the same. How can you even say that when we don't even know what Sonya and Johnny are going to be like in this game? And if they somehow have similarities, so fucking what? You honestly think that there's a character out there that deserves more of a chance to be in here without thinking that maybe they can't be in this game due to other issues that rises up?

Why have Sonya and Johnny be left out of a game without having a proper closure from them after the events from 2011's story? We see them walking away with Raiden and Liu's dead body, we're just supposed to be told that after these horrific events they ended up doing the naughty and having a kid that joined the military? I'm sorry, but that would be a real shitty move for them to close their books. I'd rather play as them to see what happens to them than just getting told by narration. That's pathetic and I don't like that.

Of course, I don't get everything that I want, but I hope that at least some people stop to think that maybe having these three in this game isn't that wasteful if they stop to think that they're judging on pure opinions.

Well I wouldn't call anyone who died in MK9 the winner...and there's only the two of them. And they were in the same battle that killed everyone else, and made it out alive. So...

Well sweety, maybe, maaaayybeee Sonya blade returns, possessed by her fathers spirit.

She can summon the spirit from her pathetic father to fight by her side.

Because you see, that is her ending in MK9.

Nothing interesting can be done with this female, really, why waste a spot on this blonde bimbo with a similar daughter when you can have Mileena or another more interesting new female human that doesn't have a daughter hopping around.

They can give her brand new moves that would fit her and not necessarily fit Cassie. If she has moved up in ranks in her military, maybe she has possessions of weapons unavailable to Cassie.

Don't discredit people from designing characters differently from one another because you're thinking that everything that should have gone to Sonya is now in Cassie's possession.

Sonya can have more wrestling techniques added since she had it added to her moves in 2011. She can have more arsenal with her rings by having it do other stuff. I don't think they will do the same thing twice for her X-Ray and have her bicycle kick be apart of it, they can do stuff with that.

She has a variety of moves that can easily be worked on her as well as having other things by her side that's not necessarily something that needs to be in Cassie's arsenal.

Sonya will be older, I believe it was said that the variations for her will play upon her age or whatever, she'll be completely different. I can't say that much because I have yet to see anything from her. However, after seeing the characters that are out already, I'm not doubting the creators to make both mother and daughter differently.

Or maybe grandma Blade can summon flowers from the ground and weave her enemies some cloths, those are Sonya Blands new hobbies now she's older.

So if Cassie uses gun and airstrikes, her mother uses atombombs and machine guns? Nice!

As for moves, they could give her more pink energy moves. Give us some kind of backstory where that came from. Her arcade ending in MK9 suggests her father might have been someone important, or that ghostly figure could have been misleading her because it has its own plans for her. Maybe she's being manipulated. Maybe her dad isn't from Earthrealm.

She has more to lose now, with Cassie. She might be really protective of her. Maybe she's the opposite and is pushing Cassie to follow in her military footsteps. Maybe she's not nurturing, and instead she's very strict and cold. Maybe she's an absent parent, off saving the world, and Cassie is trying to impress her.

Maybe her and Johnny split after Cassie is born, and they actually end up on teams with opposing views. Maybe she ends up on the baddies' side.

There are tons of possibilities for Sonya. I'd personally really like to see at least one of her variations focus on her pink energy. Maybe the quest she went off on in the end of MK9 leaves her with more powers.

There are TONS of possibilities for the other characters too, and those don't have similar daughters in the roster.

Well as ya'll know they changed things in MK9. If you look close enough you see her pressing a device on her arm to produce the energy in the prison.

Mileena was changed, sektor and cyrax were around at the first tournament ect ect, things have changed since mk3, this would be one of them.

IF it is magical, then its just another pathetic mistake in the MK9 storyline, because both sonya and johnny don't believe in magic in the start of the tournament, why would Sonya not believe in magic if she has it herself?
