That's the one thing I really hope he won't have. I generally dislike those big capes.

Here's what I want Fujin to wear in MKX. I hated the combination of teal and red and I agree that being the God of Wind, he need flowing garments. Maybe not just white like this, add a few hints of grey or gold to match the metallic details and he's good to go.

Looks like he ́s wearing the Golden Fleece there. Kratos will not approve

Hehe, the long scarf is a celestial scarf, a sign of divinity. I believe it is Japanese of origin, while the golden fleece is from Greek mythology. :P

"Just why is that character so requested by the MK fanbase?"
This is easy to answer for me. From MK1 til MKA we saw many fighters which shared the same special moves or replaced some old ones with new ones and identically move set. So they all felt less unique.
But with MK9 the fans discovered the new personality from the fighters. They felt way more unique and more fun. In MKX we have three Variation to choose from. And now People are curios to see what NRS could do with all the other fighters who wasn't in MK9 like Fujin, Shinnok, Reiko... They want a second Chance for them. Because NRS has now the time from Warner to finish the game. MK9 felt complete. And i didn't had this feeling in MKD or MKDA.
And Fujin has one advantage. He has the wind element on his side which gaves him much potential.

Right!?! Seriously with this fucking crossbow.
Also...I remember pointing out that the God of Wind could just as easy be a rushdown in your face character since wind also symbolically is associated with being fast as hell. Personally I'd rather see Fujin be a more aggressive rushdown character but that's just me.
As far as his moves go the funnel pop-up launcher has been used amongst several characters in various forms but I have faith that NRS could do Fujin's moveset justice, especially with access to 3 variations. Maybe his ranged variation could give him a spirit crossbow projectile like people have suggested so we can collectively let it go. I mean personally I can do with out it but...whatever.

That's what I was getting at when I suggested Fujin not have any projectiles. Its entirely possible Fujin could have moves that get him to the opponent quickly rather than keeping them away.
I was thinking they could give him an air dash. (He'd be the first MK character to have one) And for the variations he can have one that focuses on rushdown, one that can have Fujin being the opponent closer with winds coming from behind the opponent, and a zoning variation.
If they can find a way to do a zoning variation for Fujin without having to use the crossbow, that'd be just fine.

One of the reasons I love her so is our shared view on capes. ^^

In my opinion a cape suits a character based on wind more than a character based on lightning...
I really disliked Fujin in MK:armageddon, really needs a new look.

Dunno about a caped Fujin. Never liked the cape on Raiden either but it looked great on Rain and it definitely suited Shao Kahn.
But I was hoping he'd be wearing loose garments that flow with his movements and when he uses his abilities. Something like this.

I could see fujin with a cape. But I like his mk4 look the best or make him look like he did in kratos ending. And raiden's cape in MkDA was the best costume he ever had imo.

This is basically why I don't want them in, or any long piece of wardrobe that really isn't necessary to be on the character.
A good example to show how horrible it is on people is Sindel. When you win and not do a fatality on your opponent, she spins in the air. Her back loincloth thing ends up in front of her and starts clipping into her.
Sure, stuff like that can be fixed, but I don't see a use of having long stuff on characters if there's no reason for them to have it. That's why capes are such a horrible thing to have for a character, unless the animators do a superb job in making sure those long clothes don't clip into the character.
