Yeah, that Fatality didn't really make sense. When being hit by such strong wind, you should have been flying back with immense force, and not being able to stand still long enough for your skin to peel off...

Ya know its funny. Literally any time there's a Fujin thread, the crossbow always becomes the big topic.

Pretty sure its the other way around. I've seen more people against it than for it. (Obviously not counting this thread but from previous Fujin threads.)

Heh, well, since you don't like it, feel free to start another conversation about Fujin that is not about his crossbow. ;)

I wouldn't mind it in one move, but i'd rather see him as storm lord, summoning MAGICAL winds to toss the victims around and then summing very powerful hurricanes that cover big fields, while his ponytail is moving very awesome and cool.

That's the cool thing about Variations. In one he can wield his crossbow, in another he can focus on strong winds.

I would if I could. There's nothing to really discuss for me. I'd like him to play a big role in the story, I'd like his outfit to be his MKA design revamped, and I just hope his Flying Knee move returns.

That about sums up what I have to say about Fujin. When he's revealed I'll probably have more to say.

It was really a shame the MK team didn't give him his knee move in MKA. They also didn't give Kai his spin kick move. I hope both characters return with these moves...

... but anyways, that crossbow...

They gave him the divekick (which wasn't even a Fujin original) but don't give him the Flying Knee. (Only character who had it besides Fujin was Shao Kahn) But yeah Armageddon was a mess. However, it made Fujin's hair look awesome so I'll let the whole "no Flying Knee move" thing slide.

And if Kai returns in MKX its a sure thing his whole handstand style will be a variation of his. Or maybe a core part of his fighting in general. Either way, I'd love to see it return. Was one of the few things Kai had going for him.

Never speak of the crossbow and we'll be just fine wink

Because wind by itself doesn't hurt, it can only push you. Even tornado-force winds are dangerous ONLY because they can pick you up and toss you into stuff. If it was possible to stand still in wind that strong and take it without being moved, it wouldn't break the skin or be particularly painful.

Things carried ON the wind, however, like debris, or an arrow, DO hurt.

Pressurization. Now there are somne really neat things an ocean made of vapour such as our atmosphere can do.

I'm throwing this out there.

Twister from Twisted Metal 2 is my favorite character, because I love her special. For those who never played or don't remember, the car turns into a tornado, picks up surrounding cars, and damages them by having the cars slam into her. (Yeah, it did damage to her but...)

So it got me thinking... Could he have it where he spins viciously enough to make himself suck his opponent closer and do damage with them twirling around him? He could have his arms out and flail them around and around and such.

Just a thought.

Hell yeah he can do that. He could also summon winds from behind the opponent which propels them closer.

Can I just throw out there that I hate Fujin's design in Armageddon?

Like...first of all, the hair, EVERYONE in the game with long hair wears their bangs loose. His character looks WAY more unique and distinctive with it all pulled tight in MK4.

Second, the color scheme is crap. Red and teal do not go together well, too garish and clashing. He should be black and teal like in MK4. (Yes, he had a little red on his back in that outfit too, but still, the black was the dominant color)

The whole problem with Fujin's design is that Raiden sort of set a precedent early on for how the gods should look by having a very simple, iconic costume and color scheme. All white and black, with blue and yellow trim. These colors work because they're the colors of electricity and they're balanced well. Then along comes more Gods: Water god looks like a man made of water, no clothes...Earth god looks like a man made of rock, no clothes...Fire God is dressed like a samurai, but his body's made of fire like the Human Torch so no clashing colors...and then there's Fujin and Shinnok, both of them wearing every color of the fuckin' rainbow with no unifying theme. To be fair, the wind has no colors, but still...It needs to be pared down to something simple and iconic.

Wearing the bangs loose is an oriental cultural thing. Kinda like in China when it was forbidden to cut hair.

The MK4 costume is basically cannibalized from kung Lao and the preexisting meshes from other characters in 4. MK3 had this sorta weird rescue jacket flotation device thing with the ninjas and Fujin.

it looks boring as hell .

That's not true, Fujin was designed fresh for Mythologies, there's concept art and everything. In that game, the red thing on his back was a full cape, but that's the only design difference.

And Kung Lao never had his hair long enough to wear a ponytail when Fujin was designed. He has a neck-length mullet in MK3 and 4 but that's about it.

Fujin was one of my favorite characters in MK4.
His moves were very kick-ass and because of his ending (the now-protector of Earthrealm), I was very hyped to see him in MK5

Then Deadly Alliance rolled in... even though they kept the part of MK4 where Raiden became an elder god, Fujin was not seen.

....then Deception came along... still no Fujin.

FINALLY in Armageddon we see Fujin, but his moves, fighting style, and his new costume(s) just fucking sucked.

If they can make Fujin as awesome as he was in MK4, then that will make me a very, VERY happy MK Fan. It's that undying hope for a bad ass version of Fujin that makes him popular.

Yeah whatevs Fujin rocks!
Seriously now, on the one hand the crossbow would make a cool variation. On the other hand I think Fujin's powers are interesting and versatile enough to create three different variations on their own. So I'd say rid Fujin of that weapon. Even though I liked the idea it didn't really fit him. I'd gladly welcome it on a new character tho.

Speaking of Fujin's design, when I think of wind I think of flowing. It makes me think of long flowing sleeves and long flowing pants. Possibly like a Japanese swordsman. Something similar anyway.

As far as color goes, I want to go with white, but that's Kinda Raiden's thing. Wind makes me think of tornadoes, and tornadoes make me think of storm clouds. So, possibly Navy blue or shades of dark blue mixed with dark purple to give him a stormy appearance.

Here's what I want Fujin to wear in MKX. I hated the combination of teal and red and I agree that being the God of Wind, he needs flowing garments. Maybe not just white like this, add a few hints of grey or gold to match the metallic details and he's good to go.
