Armageddon is upon us. I thought MK would stick to their guns but I guess soon All female characters are going to wear nun's clothing and burkas yay and all the male characters will be stripped down instead sad

Once again, InB4OMGMANFACELOLOLOLOL!!!!

I think her face looks fine. Only gripe is I think she should look a tad bit younger. I'm guessing she should be in her early 20s? She's looking 30-early 40s there.

I know her face is fine. I was just mocking the autistic critics who always say that about female facial designs made by NRS. I'm surprised that no one called her a Jill Valentine ripoff yet!

big boobs and skimpy outfits are fine. But i don't want every girl to be like that

its just that some ppl want variety

If every male in the game was dressed like Shao Kahn. I'd make the same complaints.

It was a joke. I thought it was ironic that everyone was praising small boobs and less skin.

Cassie really looks like a Nina Williams rip-off. I noticed some said Jill Valentine rip-off, but Jill's new whole body-suit blonde ponytail look was a Nina William's rip-off as well. XD

I am not against it, as Nina is my fave Tekken character, but it just means Cassie's look isn't very original.

^I still remember people calling her Nina Jilliams lol.

I must say it's crazy how no one seems to notice that while they are getting women's faces right this time around, they still can't seem to give female characters proper female curves. Look at Cassie's body.

What are proper curves though? There are women who have curves and women who shaped like tetris blocks. Maybe Cassie just has small hips.

I still don't understand how people don't understand the difference between wanting a variety of different female characters with outfits that fit their character and being a prude who wants all the females dressed "like nuns.".

I guess what I mean it that she's so narrow at the bottom compared to the top. It just looks manly to me personally that's all.

Im pleased the ladies so far are covered. Will be interesting to see how others are.

D'Vorah looks really interesting. I prefer her hooded version. Like the colour scheme tho yellow/black did make me think Tanya instantly. I thought she might be a reimagined Tanya at first but glad shes not.

Cassie, not really that impressed. She looks too much like other characters (Sarah Bryant and Nina Williams mainly). A tad uninspired. Plus man face, wonder if she gets that from mummy or daddy lol.

Her mother, obviously. Johnny's always been a pretty boy. ;P

But seriously, I really don't think she has a manface. Her face is plain, but not manly, imo.

Lol true he was always a pretty boy.

Her face actually looks better in game. I hadn't really seen any proper footage before. The jawline is still a bit squareish I think tho but not as bad as its been for some females in past games. But the select screen image and render/animation when you select her look awful IMO. The whole bottom of half of her face (nose/mouth/jawline) looks manly in those.

Some article I found that might make you guys happy with what Ed Boon had to say about costume design for MKX. Link.

"And expect the game's female fighters to be dressed more modestly. Boon describes that as "a conscious effort." "When I look back on MK9, I think we turned the dial a little too high with the female anatomy and stuff like that," he says, acknowledging how ridiculous series veteran Sonya Blade looked in her cleavage-revealing vest and crop top. Her daughter, Cassie, wears a full body tactical suit with refreshingly little exposure."

There you go. It's whatever to me, but I'm sure it will make a lot of you happy.

Also from the same article:

"The visual design of those fighters will steer more toward "simplicity and elegance," Boon says. "We didn't want to get too complex [with their design]," he adds. "We wanted big variance in materials [and] really wanted to get leather, cloth, worn out materials in there."

I love the sound of that.

SJW and the stench of Tumblr is annoying.

they can wear whatever the design team wants. just make them look cool.

If its sexy, classy, military whatever. I am not sitting here getting off fictional character, and im sure no one else is, we just want an awesome design with great characters and EPIC story

Damn was literally about to post this. Glad to see they're really working past the bikini-fighters thing.

I like how they went with the design for Cassie and D'Vorah.

I think it is good to see realistically clothed female characters.
However though, I don't think that some female characters, namely Kitana, Jade and Mileena, should be as clothed as that. They have always had kind of revealing costumes. I think Kitana and Mileena's costumes in MK9 were over the top but Jade's was okay. But I think characters like Cassie, D'Vorah, Sonya, Kira, etc. should wear war-suited costumes with other females like Kitana, Jade, Mileena, Tanya, Sareena, etc. wearing not over the top costumes, but still retaining some of the sexuality that some of those characters have.

This is pretty much my stance. I admit I do love skimpy, fan serviced up female characters and feel no shame or motivation to change my stance on the matter.

That being said variety is a good thing. We have the "fem-ninjas" for fan service and as long as they stay in that vein we also need down to earth female characters as well. As well as male characters that are realistically dressed along with the shirtless-or-less male characterstongue

So I welcome characters like Cassie Cage and hope Sonya doesn't get killed in the story just because a 40-50s year woman = icky in some minds. That being said if they over dress up Tanya/Kitana/Mileena/Jade for their primary costume I will be annoyed.

I do like the look of the female Characters in MK9, they were some of the koolest designs IMO (not including Sonya & partially Kitana). It would be nice if they could balance out those designs with the current ones and find the right mix.

Sonya I understand, but I dont get why people are so afraid of women body. There are people that even see big boobs like something baaaaad, come on, they could offend big breasted women.

I'm a girl btw, and I find more offensive reading "Uuh all women should be covered!"

Well said Sister!

It's funny how gratuitous violence is always welcomed, but show more skin and sh*t hits the fan...its hilarious. I find it strange...people arguing that outfits are too skimpy and high heels not being practical yet the game has people shooting ice and tearing people in half like tissue paper, not to mention walking around with broken body parts like nothing ever happened. Yet no complaints there.grin

Sadly this argument has gone on forever and seem to be favoring the nay sayers sad

Regardless I love MK and will get this game no matter what.wink

Also there is Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate - a game that's not afraid of the female physique but instead celebrates it wink

Yeah, people only seem to care about "realistic" in their fantasy games when it backs up some alternative motive. Nevermind 90+% of fantasy attire/weaponry is absurdly unrealistic, all about looking some brand of stylish and nothing more.
