Look, I love Goro as much as the next guy, but he clearly didn't have much confidence in himself if he needed Rain to beat K'etz and Kotal Kahn in one on one kombat. As for Rain, bummed to see him taken out so easily, but DAMN that was cool. Goro is totally gonna get the Jax treatment. 4 mechanical arms, bitches. I honestly wish Rain would die in a way he could never ever come back. I'm glad Kotal fucked him up before he could roll the clouds in. Blood Magic must have really gave that super move some range. Then Goro's dumbass thought he stood a chance. Motherfucker your prime was over 500 years ago. You ain't the same Shokan anymore. He would have kicked your ass without the blood magic. Goro should have retreated or called in Kintaro to help but has always been a dumbass with too much undeserved pride. Now Mileena is gonna eat his face or will give him the Jax treatment if he promises to serve her. Something tells me a Shokan promise is unbreakable.

Now mileenas forces seem to be dwindling and Reiko is taking advantage of it... But who does Reiko work for?

I think this was the best issue yet!Âa So fucking amazing! When Rain got scorched my mouth dropped open I was surprised and amazed at the same time.Âa Kotal is on that real gansta shit. He is NOT fuckin' around. I like Goro, but I'm glad he got his in this Komik. Betraying Kotal and killing the man's father because he didn't like the fucking assignment he gave him. The fuck Goro?

A little disappointed with Sonya, for a leader she's not really good at calculating risk. Shooting an emperor without confronting him could easily start a war between Outworld and Earthrealm.

To be fair Shao had already merged the realms and gained incredible power from the souls he absorbed. He was much stronger than when he face Liu Kang. Even the elder gods couldn't do anything to him at first.Âa

Kotal's Yoshi was a nice touch. Since the Saurian race evacuated Earth when Raiden and Shinnok brawled for the first time, it stands to reason that they brought some dinosaurs along with them as mounts/pets/livestock. Then Outworld absorbs Zaterra so now Outworld has dinosaurs.

Not sure if Kittelsen followed that chain of events on purpose or just thought that dinosaurs in Outworld would be awesome, but either way that was a highlight for me. I like me some well-integrated world building.

Just going to sidestep that one...Anyway now this may be an artist inconsistancy but Mileena didn't have yellow eyes in this issue. She had normal blue eyes.

Now I don't expect to see that again or when she's revealed but it was great to see her look like that again even for this one issue, and her outfit fucking rocks. Not necessarily as slutty as say her MK9 primary but still just as scantily clad as only Mileena can be.

REPTILE CAN GROUP CLOAK AND HAS ENOUGH OF A BRAIN TO SPOUT CHEESY ONE-LINERS I love it! He can job all he wants in story mode this comic is doing him more justice than most of the games he's been or ever will be in.

Ha so GorOwned got knocked down a few pegs and cut down to size. Serves him right. Either all DLC is non-canon, The Goro we see in the "Goro Lives" is before this event occurs.

But unless it's after that, how can he heal those arms? He can't turn to Mileena and Shokan pride might mean he's not going to his father for aid. Shinnok is imprisoned and Quan-Chi is "in the past". Very interesting.


Oh and Rain turned out to be alive so some of the more diehard Rain fans threw a fit over nothing. Look how silly you acted this weekend. Shame on a ninja.

Can't wait to see what the story has in store for Kintaro and others.

Unless the Goro render we've seen has just been his alt, and his main has cybernetic or other type arm replacements.

Absolutely! Sucks he had to job to Kotal, but it sure as hell made Kotal look bad ass. I wonder what's next? Does the Special Forces take him, cut a deal, and give him cyber arms? He get them back by other means? Or is this really the extent of his inclusion, and his DLC appearance is just non canon?

Obviously, Goro wasn't the only one who got it bad today. Like some others, I saw Kittelson's(sp?) tweet as more of a comfort than something malicious. I've never been a huge fan, but I absolutely still feel a bit salty about how Shang Tsung went out in MK9, so I can understand the disappointment. Any good MK fan's mantra should be "death is temporary". Not much of a comfort, but, it is what it is.

This issue was great, but man, after reading the previews for the next few issues...fucking amazing things are coming!

Goro was returned to Kuatan, so i'm sure he'll figure out someway to fight again. He was totally fine minus missing his arms, and we already know he'll be in the game.

Reiko set this whole thing up for the shokans to turn on kotal though, hes so damn awesome.

I hope Kintaro is badass when he shows up to avenge Goro

Kotal gave the order to return him to Kuatan, but didn't Sonya show up not two minutes later and cap his ass? Unless I'm missing something, its all one scene, and by the end, Sonya and the Special Forces are pretty much in control.

I hope so. I don't think his appearance is non canon, I just think he'll be a short lived character like Kung Lao was in MK9. Appeared mid to late in MK1 portion of story and died just before end of MK II portion. It's a good time to have Goro sit out a few games from now.

Maybe he is forced to return to Kuatan and is expecting to be humiliated and belittled. But Kintaro finds him before anyone else sees him and instead of allowing him to ruin his legendary name, finishes him off as a mercy out of respect and claims to the Shokan that Kotal killed him and ripped his arms off as added humiliation. Then Kintaro leads the Shokan uprising in Goro's name that's mentioned in the summary for Issue #5.

"Scorpion and Takeda’s search for Sub-Zero leads them to find an entire city that’s been frozen solid! Meanwhile, Sonya and Johnny’s quest to rescue their daughter is interrupted by the Outworld Civil War – and a Shokan uprising led by Kintaro!"

When you see the panel that shows the castle burning in the top corner it says "Later" imply its been awhile since they fought.

Indeed, thats the scene im referring to. Reptile informs Kotal that "Goro will be returned to Kuatan", implying it hadn't happened yet.
