I'd rather say no.

Have Motaro take over.

Um....Not to beat a dead horse, pun intended, but did you not see story mode?

To be fair, being dead actually increases a character's likelihood of appearing when the bad guys are the Netherealm.

As much as i like mr. Fuzzywuzzy, i think Kintaro has more impact when he appears less frequently, so no for the next game.

It's good that it was Kintaro, in lieu of a nobody, to burn Kabal who died soon after anyway. Still, Kintaro's involvement was (and has always been) minor. If Goro will appear in the sequel; the Shokan body structure is ready for Kintaro too – who will probably, should I mention, unite with the other Outworld beasts and nomads. Yes for the possibility of NPC Kintaro.

Good point, though I'm not really holding out much hope for Mo to return unless they chop his fucking legs off again.

Yeah, I don't think they've even tried modelling a working Motaro. They seem to much prefer skipping the whole idea and making excuses 'cause it's easier.

I mean "Wahhh, horse man hard to do in 3D!" makes sense in an engine that has sidestepping like Armageddon, but now that the games are on a flat plane again, there's no reason why they couldn't program his model to move and fight exactly the same way his sprite did in the original MK3. Just make him goddamn immune to X-Rays if that's the problem, it's not like people aren't accustomed to certain moves not working on bosses.

To be honest, I wish the sub-bosses, Goro and Kintaro, could have been immuned to the x-rays. I thought it looked rather silly for some of them to get x-rayed when it came to certain characters. Like Kitana's x-ray for example.

Well Kitana's X-Ray looked silly on everybody, I mean the fans go all the way through the eyes and brain and out the back of their head...

But yeah, I totally get what you mean, they all look extra-weird on Goro and Kintaro.

Yes, bosses and sub-bosses should be total ass-pains to beat.

They should be hard, but not to where it comes down to finding a pattern and expose it like crazy. Both of these characters had super easy patterns to avoid and that's disappointing.

Back in the Genesis days (I call the 90s that because I owned a Genesis), wasn't like Kintaro frustratingly hard but was easy to beat if you just kept doing jump kicks against him? That's all I keep seeing in playthroughs for Mortal Kombat 2.

These kinds of bosses shouldn't be beaten like that. They should have some sort of intimidating feel. I feel like I've been saying that a lot lately for any kind of boss-like characters for the series. I get that the creators wanted us to feel intimidated, but once you spot that pattern, the intimidation feeling is over and it's easy to just beat, easy to get flawlesses too. It should feel somewhat impossible to get flawless victories with these characters. It's a boss.

I guess the best way to describe a good boss is the Eternal Champion in... Eternal Champions. Just a hard boss to fight against.

And if these two are ever featured in another game together, I feel like they should fight differently, even though their both Shokans. Have some differences with each other because they both throw out projectiles and both have some sort of powerhouse special. I really didn't feel any kind of differences between each other.

Of course, this is just all me, not what you guys probably want to see, probably not what anyone wanted but, meh just throwing that out there.

Kintaro doesn't make the roster, so it's time for the next character which is Kira:

I don't see a purpose with her at all for the next game. Granted that she could totally be created in a new way, such as having new moves and possibly touch up on her looks a bit, she could be useful for a different future game. But as of right now, I just have to say no.

Kira is a character I think should get retired, along with Kobra and Hsu Hao.

Obviously, it's a no for Ms. Giraffe Neck.

I actually really like Kira's character design and backstory.

But there's not much reason for anyone Kabal recruited into his version of the Black Dragon to appear in a timeline where Kano's version is still alive and thriving.

I mean...Kobra was a street punk, he'd theoretically fit in, but the whole reason Kabal picked Kira was she's way more disciplined and intelligent than the people Kano liked to roll with.
So as much as I hate to add a voice to the, in my opinion irrational, Kira-hate bandwagon that's existed since Deception came out just 'cause her moves were stolen from Sonya and Kano (which obviously wouldn't continue to be the case if she were reintroduced)...I still have to vote No just based on hard logic.

Nope. No Kira.

We already got a better redhead now. Skarlet!

Sonya & Kano are better than her.

Shall we move on now!?

Not really seeing her as a character to be ditched completely rather than touching her up a bit to make her different than what she was during Deception. Granted that she had shared moves and can easily have her own unique, as well as getting a little bit of a touch up with her looks, she shouldn't be completely ditched.

I thought her story was actually one of the better ones for Deception and thought that she should have at least another chance in the series. As I stated before, I don't really see a purpose for her for the next game unless the Dragon clans are to have some role. However, I cannot see her be completely ditched for good. One appearance (not counting Armageddon) and then get ditched for good doesn't seem a bit fair for those who actually did like the character.

It would be funny if Kira was Skarlet all along, though that would require a personality change and an escape from Outworld's grasp. No for Kiraffe.

Kira is all "no's" for her, so it's on to the next character which is Kitana:

Seeing how she's dead, she's most likely to come back for the next game, especially if Edenia is going to be one of the main targets. However, as much as I appreciated how she was drawn out more and had somewhat of a decent personality I liked, I would like to see more of it if she is to have more of a role in the future, that is if she is to come back alive. Seeing how there's a chance for her to return, I'm going to have to say yes. I will not say, however, if she should be playable or not yet, mainly because I'll do that once we're doing the second round of voting.

Yes.

As I've said repeatedly, the dead...at least the important ones, have to come back as henchmen of Shinnok/Quan Chi.

I could maybe see them leaving Stryker or Kabal behind in Hell, deeming them not useful enough to the invasion...but since Kitana has a valid claim to the throne in both Outworld and Edenia if it were to be freed, her value as a puppet goes far beyond just combat.

Yes.

Gotta keep those fan favorites so we can have a core roster.
