I don't honestly care much for him either, if doesn't come back i wouldn't mind. If he did come back it would the perfect thing to expand on Reptiles story with Khameleon too. Since Reptile is one of my favorite characters I would enjoy something like this. Chameleon should be neutral other than just being another one of Shao Kahn's minions. I understand many people may not like him because he just copys moves, so for his move set I think that he should still control powers of fellow ninjas but have them variated. So like Fire, Ice, Acid, Telekenesis, Smoke, Darkness, Water and a Earth attack for Tremor. He should also utilize camouflage more, make him have a few moves off it and turn invisible within combos.

I was thinking off dealing with the characters that seem to have been missed before we get back to MKDA cast. So Khameleon, Tremor and Meat but why are you so excited to get past the MKDA characters? Is there someone you like coming up? Hotaru was my favorite 3D era character I look forward to seeing what people think about him returning.

I say YES to chameleon and khameleon especially K since she has a story and all and she could be the mother of the new reptilian race. Get this biblical metaphor. K=abraham while Reptile and C=sarah and the mistress(forgot name). Ofcourse Reptile and C are going to hate each other and their children will follow along for generations. All will respect K though. Either that or make C&K tag team like Noob&Saibot(Smoke). GIVE THEM THEIR OWN MOVES ALREADY OR ATLEAST DERIVATIVES OF OTHER NINJAS.

How can you bring Sareena back? Her moves for instance...

She needs a skull fireball. Plus since she's a demon, she needs some demonic moves.

It would be cool for the story at least, but if she doesn't appear playable again in a future game, I wouldn't be upset.

She could be the one to free CSZ from his cyber body and shes a demon so she could free the others from the Netherrealm. She'll probably be killed by Quan Chi and Kia and Jataaka, then the freed warriors will mourn and forget about her, so in the 2 games NRS can get rid of one character and tell fans that death can be permanent in MK.

As for Sareena, I say yes.

She is a vital connection between the Forces of Light and the Forces of Darkness. I think her aiding Sub-Zero would prove a great way to obtain the knowledge of the FOL's plans, which she can relay to Quan Chi and/or Shinnok. So, Yes! She needs a Komeback!
