Reiko has many places he can go. I would personally like him to make a move for the throne of outworld and become the smaller version of Kahn. Perhaps he could even start his own group to figh for that throne.

Anyway, now that we have Reiko out of the way, we move on to, IMO, one of the best characters of the 3D era. TANYA!

Tanya is much like Rain she's a traitor to her own realm, but she may be much deeper than that. We haven't had much of a chance to get to know her, but here's hoping that NRS can do something with Tanya this go round.

Heck, maybe even as a result of change she herself could have a change of heart and side with the good guys this time. Only time will tell. However, Tanya I believe has a spot waiting for her in MKX.

Maybe Tanya can come back. Give her a mask and change her hair.

Plus, I don't want her to use fire and give her some signature weapons of her own.

But Tanya is evil.

Yeah, Tanya should stay evil. I'm just thinking with Earth's forces weakened it's a "maybe" situation with Tanya that she could side with good for once.

I disagree with giving her a mask and changing her hair though. The last thing we need is yellow kitana, jade, mileena.

Tanya is deserving of a good role in MKX not just a yellow pallet swap.

I was never really a fan of Tanya. If she does come back, NRS needs to avoid making her into a "female Kano". I like the idea that despite her status in life, her motivation for doing evil is simply because she enjoys tormenting others, making them miserable. With that said, her role could involve her being an apprentice under Quan Chi, a nihilistic villain.

i'd like for her to return but not use fire moves. i think she'd be great using bees,wasps/hornets/locusts. if not than mayve she can can use plagues and decay. maybe light manipulation if they want her to become good. keep her look but update the detail on the character model itself.

Now Tanya is a special case for me.

I hate Tanya because she is a flip flopper (A traitor). I can't stand her or Quan Chi. She just never really appealed to me ever.

But I will say yes. Only for the fact that she could have interesting gameplay.

Plague & decay? Perhaps that will be useful. According to the 10 plagues from the story of Moses.

Yes, Tanya should be back to give Jade's a justified presence. She is good enough to come back.

Honestly, all the MK1-MK4 characters should come back... Even Jarek.

I think Tanya's schtick should be black magic more than anything. She could be a believable witch. Black magic just really suits her to me though. Tanya is probably one of my favorite's from the 3d era, but I do think she needs something to go with as far as her moveset goes.

Black magic could be just the thing for her. Perhaps voodoo.

If Tanya was redone as a nihilist who simply wants others to suffer, and if they have her as an apprentice to Quan Chi, giving her black magic abilities would really go hand-in-hand. I don't really see her being that big on martial arts abilities anyway.

Yeah, Martial arts doesn't seem like it would be big to her. If anything I could see Tanya being a keep away character or a spammer if you will. She seems like she would use her powers more than actual fighting ability.

I think as far as story goes though she should meet rain and somehow take control of Edenia or have it be seperated from outworld. Either way I think those two would make a good tag team.

I want to let you guys know that some kharacters will be left out of this discussion and I'll just list them here.

Quan Chi - He was in MK9
Shinnok - Will obviously make a return anyway so no need for discussion
Meat- Just because I don't think he deserves it
Mokap - Same position as Meat

Those four will not be discussed during this threads lifespan. Tanya will be the finale of the the MK4 generation. I will kick off the DA kharacters either tomorrow or the next day so get discussion going about Tanya if you are a fan.

I give Tanya a yes by the way if that wasn't obvious enough.

Fujin: Yes
Jarek: No
Kai: Yes
Reiko: Yes
Tanya: Yes

Look like i came a little late for this thread, but thanks for Scar for pming me about it.

Fujin= i would like to see return, i believe he has some potential to become a very interesting character

Tanya= honestly i could care less, i never found her all to interesting.

Reiko= i want this guy to return more then any otehr character from the 3D era, he just seems like he could be a total badass with a good story.

Tremor= Im a sucker for the ninjas, and honestly would take Tremor over 90% of the 3D era characters. they can delve more in to his connection to the Lin Kuei, and possibly one of the people tht helps Sub-Zero turn it over for a better cause. Frost= i want her to return, but i want her to turn out to be Sub-Zeros Love interest OR his sister. the Mk team did mention he had one, maybe it could be her. honestly if they picked either or i wouldnt mind they can build off something interesting from either one.

The beginning of the Deadly Alliance Era is bringin the heat.lol.

Blaze was just a background character in MK2, and in MK:DA he was finally realized as an actual character. Being one of the two secret characters in DA admittedly made me like Blaze a lot more.

He was forced to guard the dragon egg which would awaken Onaga and then he would finally become the Boss battle of Armageddon.

The whole story of Armageddon just left a bad taste in my mouth because I don't think the Mortal Kombat universe should face Armageddon. I don't want the characters dying.

That's why I'm torn on blaze. I do believe I would like him to return in the future, but not if it means Armageddon.

However as far as MK10 goes, no I do not want him in the game. Blaze really probably wouldn't hold an important part in the next story anyway so I will say NO to blaze.

Yes, for a future return. He does deserve it sometime down the line I believe, but not any time soon and not in MKX so NO blaze I don't want you to make a komeback yet.

Fujin: Yes
Jarek: No
Kai: Yes
Reiko: Yes
Tanya: Yes
Blaze: No

I so don't want Blaze coming back! No Meat & Mokap especially!

We already got enough fire warriors.

I can't believe you think everyone of these characters deserves to make a comeback though.

I mean when we get to Hsu Hao you'll be saying yes as well. I honestly just do not think that all of these characters should come back.

It's your opinion though and I respect it, I just don't see the need for all of these characters to return.

I have said it once, and I will say it again. Every SINGLE character has the potential to be good. Just because a character sucks now doesn't mean they have to suck.

People always use Stryker from MK9 as an example. It makes sense because he is all the proof you need. Stryker went from Fatass to Badass. I've always liked Stryker but MK9 made Stryker much more appealing.

All I'm saying is every character deserves a second chance. Even silly characters like Meat and Mokap should get another shot. While those 2 may never be good from a story point, they could be fun through a gameplay standpoint.

That's true.

I guess I try to think of all of the facets.

Will they have a cool look?
Will they have a good part in the story?
Will there gameplay be cool?
Do they seem like an overall interesting character?

I just look at the whole picture when I think if a character should return. I honestly just don't think some of these characters should return. Blaze is a weird case for me. I want him to return down the line, but I don't want Armageddon to take place and you can't really have one without the other at this point.

I don't want Blaze as a boss either. I posted a picture of him in his boss incarnation, but I would much rather him return as a normal sized character with fire or "volcanic" based attacks.

My thoughts are maybe down the line Blaze can be defeated, but not killed and he can then take on a mentor type role which is what he seemed to have with Taven and Daegon anyway. Who knows. I think Blaze should return down the line, but right now I just don't see it.

Blaze still needs a break, maybe an appearance in MK11 wouldn't be out of the picture, but MKX doesn't need him.

They can even redeem Mokap, but they will never be able to redeem Kobra. Worst MK character ever.

I'm in favor of Blaze returning, but he's one of those characters that needs to be developed before anything major happens with him. His story could be similar to his Armageddon story where he fights the super-powered fighters to keep balance in the realms. However, NRS could just nix the elements with the pyramid and the quests of Taven and Daegon. In other words, instead of simply monitoring the amount of super-powered warriors throughout the realms, Blaze would be a character that goes out and tries to create balance, fighting heroes and villains alike.

Look and gameplay-wise, I think he could use a more humanoid look, with his firespawn appearance being a special power he taps into. I thought of an idea of him using a fireball attack that comes down like a meteor. Blaze could be interesting if he gets revamped well enough.

if he were to get an upgrade i'd say blaze would be great addition but if he stays the same i'd rather him not return. i agree with kunglao every character has potential some more than others. it just needs more creativity and uniqueness to make crappy caharacters into better characters.
