Even though I'm not a "Diehard" Rain fan, I think it would be awesome of he was on the roster.

That's about where I am on it. They've been building him up for a while and it would be cool to see an "outlier" like him take on a solid role.

After a more detailed inspection of the screenshots, I'm a believer. That's a 100% new model. It's certainly inspired by his Armageddon look, but still completely different. Just like Mileena or Raiden's MK9 alts were inspired by their deception costumes, but ultimately completely different.

If he were just a cameo they'd have refurbed his MK9 model like Sindel. The fact they took time to make a new model suggests a bigger role.

He may ultimately just be a useless minion, in the vein of Baraka or Reptile, but I'd day his playable odds just went way up.

Everyone's still ragging on Ahnka, I see, yet he's gotta learn to not react to every little thing the naysayers say.

To be honest, I'm surprised that Anhka guy isn't banned from this forum. MKConquest forum did a better job in management.

He's the most mocked character by Ed Boon and he actually de-confirmed him (just flatout said NO when someone said / asked put Rain in the game). All I'm saying, be prepared to be disappointed.

I don't get why some ppl give Ahnka such a hard time. Let the guy enjoy the fact that Rain's getting some attention from the writers! It's not like the rest of us haven't acted passionate about characters we like in the past.

As for Rain, I am really happy we got to see him in the trailer. Even if he's not in the game it seems like he'll have some part in the story so that's something at least. But why bother give him a new outfit if he's not in? I think he made it tbh. If he didn't, oh well. I was wrong. Ahnka was wrong. End of the story! No need for drama. It's a happy day for MK fans :P

To Rain or NOT to Rain?

Gah, I really didn't like Rain's look in MKA and am not really feeling the very brief glimpse of his costume here. I hate saying that tho because I am pumped to see him in the trailer and I should be way more happy than I am considering his chances to be in the game never seemed high. I dunno, I gotta see more of him. And I'm still not 100% convinced he'll be playable. I'm very happy he's playing a role in story mode, I hope he doesn't die.

Exactly. Why not just keep it simple and simply use his MK9 model or reuse his MK9 costume? Why go through creating a new outfit specifically for a supposed joke character who's only meant to have a quick cameo?

Also, let's not forget one of the IGN reviewers stated they saw Rain based water powers in the Living Towers.

If I'm wrong, well, at least he's had a role in the story. That about the best I could ask for. So many other underdogs didn't even get a shot. I mean look at the Hsu Hao fans- ouch!

Every character has people that like them- Hsu Hao was no different. As a matter of fact, I REALLY liked Hsu Hao and still to this day fail to see what it is about him that everyone seems to hate and find so terrible lol.

Just random thought, but the comic listed Rain as a Mileena loyalist. Who else does Mileena have on her team aside from Goro, Baraka, and Kano? Unless she's got Quan on her side, Rain and Baraka might be necessary to round out her numbers since Reiko is missing in the game so far.

Rain is in the game but I think as a cameo only. I do not think he is playable. The press release says that 4 characters Takeda, Kung Jin, Jacqui and Mileena are playable.

Ed Boon said there would be five reveals and that leaves the others to choose from. I would think Erron Black as the other playable character. He pops up multiple times in the video and is in Kotal's and Black Dragon faction making him even more relevant.

I love Rain and all, but this doesn't confirm him at all. It's obvious that it's from the story mode, seriously, this doesn't confirm him as playable. I hate when something small gets shown somewhere and there HAS to be a topic that "confirms" that player. It's getting fucking old, you're all not frogs or rabbits so don't jump ahead.
