I'll be happy if he's playable, I'll be happy if he has a large cameo in the story, I'll be displeased if he only appears in that one scene and is immedialtey killed during it.

I don't know. I got the feeling of a cameo. We won't know until we get confirmation (if we do), but there's always a chance of an unlockable. He had his MKA gear on, so it doesn't look like he has a new costume for MKX, which may not be a good thing for Rain fans.

Ok. Since you seem to be SO civil and accepting of other's opinions lately, I feel I should be just as respectful and non over-dramatic as you go about expressing your opinion.

I need to see a full render of his sexy costume so I can draw him. Lol. They even gave him back his ponytail.

I'm so happy Rain is at least in story mode. I'll be more happy if he is playable. If he isn't that's okay as long as he is in story mode.

Okay, now that the hype has settled, I think we should start being realistic. One of the following must be true:
A) Boon misspoke when he said 5 reveals.
B) One of Mileena, Rain, or Erron Black was not confirmed.
C) Both Rain and Erron Black were meant to be snuck in there, and only subtly confirmed in a troll-y tongue-in-cheek sort of way, as a casual audience could have easily missed either of them. (Think Kung Jin in the faction trailer.)

I want Rain, but let's keep calm for now until Boon & Co. comment on whether or not there were exactly 5 reveals, or at least 5 reveals.

It seems like they've been wanting to do something good with Rain since Armageddon, when they revealed that he was on the same level as Taven and Daegon, the primary hero and villain of the whole story up to that point. Can't really say they've never respected him.

In MK9 there wasn't much room for him in the story, but they made him DLC and reiterated his status as a demigod.

Here, he is shown in two shots, fighting side by side with Mileena and kicking Kotal "Goddamn" Kahn off of a building. Playable or not, they're taking him seriously. And it would be dead simple to make variations for him. My money's on "in."

I look at it this way: Compare both MK9 and this MKX costume for Rain. Which one makes you think "OK, he's a playable". MK9 right? This MKX costume just seems thrown together quickly, which is why I get a cameo vibe to Rain. It just doesn't look like a model that you could imagine in gameplay.

Don't get me wrong. I don't want to squash your hopes. But don't jump to the conclusion that he's 100% in. I think you should be hopeful, but be prepared to face the fact that he could be cameo only.

Just for you saying you know you're not wrong I hope that is the only scene we see Rain in and Kotal absolutely destroys him after that kick.

That is not the case Ankha. I say the same thing anytime people get super hyped before we know something for sure. Because it's led to tremendous disappointment or letdowns from fans that thought it was a lock.

For example, most recently that I can recall, people thought the teaser Ed put up before the Kung Lao/Kitana trailer was of Kitana's fan doing a fatality. I didn't see it that way, and just tried expressing other possibilities just to be safe. I ended up being wrong, and it was indeed Kitana. I'm not saying I'm any more right here than there, and for your sake I hope I'm not, but I don't think it's wise to just automatically assume he's in just because he was shown briefly in the story trailer with so many other reveals. Regardless, you shouldn't treat someone weighing all possibilities as a threat or trying to shut your fun down. We like Rain, we just don't want to believe something as confirmed until it actually is one way or the other.

Because I know if you expect less and be surprised later, that'll have much better results than you expecting the most, and you find out it's actually less. You're gonna be extremely disappointed, but that's only your own doing. But it's been stated, you're right, so I won't beat a dead horse. Just don't be rude please.

Can you guys just please leave Ahnka alone? Rain has been spotted, he might be a cameo, he might be playable. It's all speculation at this point and Ahnka can be happy about Rain's chances as much as he wants. It's not fair for half the people on this forum to gang up on Ahnka and try to lower his expectations. They're his expectations and they're his to set. Just leave the guy alone, Jesus.

From those two seconds you got a head-to-toe glimpse of how he looks like. His costume just seems thrown together for quick Story Mode cameos, it just gives that vibe. Compare every other character's model to that of Rain and there's a significant difference in how they look/feel.

For the record, Shinnok looks wonderful, but I'm not convinced he's playable either. It ain't just Rain I think people are jumping the gun on.

Ed said 5 characters, we saw cassie's crew in gameplay, and way more characters outside of that. Two minutes of mostly story footage, and now people are all "Shinnok's in, Rain's in, Erron Black's in, things look good for Li Mei now, Sub-Zero is Kuai Liang"...they're reasonable conclusions, but they're still conclusions people are jumping to.

It's tough, but hype control is a good practice to put in place at times like these.

I still don't see the Erron Black appearance everyone claims to be seeing though. Edit: NVM I found him. Kinda silly design lol But W/E I'll see how it plays out.
