I would love to see Rain in the game, I just hope they drop his water dancing girly fighting style and stale moves. Rain deserves to be someone that is feared not laughed at while dancing around you spraying you with a super-soaker.

Blah, Rain... I really don't like this character because of his stories. You go from a guy who is from Argus and an unknown mother, talked about how he's a Demi-god, to a story that's nowhere near any of this royalty stuff.

His 2011 bio doesn't even mention anywhere about being a prince or being related to Argus. It talks about being an orphan that was raised by the Edenian Resistance and stayed with them until he was denied leadership. That's when he turned against them and joined Kahn.

His stories are just weird. Give him some sort of steady story to go along with and maybe I'll begin to like him.

Fuck Rain. A shit ton of characters are more deserving than him.

I expect Rain to be in. He is an elemental character, which gives him an edge over other returnees. Also, the MK4 storyline is going to be a part of the game, meaning Edenia will be involved.

I might be the only forum member rooting for Taven to return. I'd like to see a rivalry with Rain. Brother vs Brother, Fire vs Water.

Rain's moves were silly in Mk9 (becuz they were a throwback to Mk3). If he's in MKX, I'm sure NRS will give him an overhaul of new badass special moves

The problem with Rain is that he is essentially a joke character put in to have another spandex ninja. This tacked-on story about being a demigod and the subsequent ties to Argus and Deliah is basicallz filler bullshit.

Kinda like how at least 1/3 of the Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire cast is just there to be there. Soap opera bullshit. Strictly speaking about storytelling value.

Just because you could do something with the character does not necesasrily mean you SHOULD. In this case IMO you should not.

Now that you mention it, It seems like NRS has set up Rain's story for a continuation effect. Your right his bio didn't mention him being a demi-god but it said he was an orphan, (we have all seen Hercules right?)

NRS could have been setting Rain up to be a larger character in mkx where we will learn the next portion of his story... at least I hope..

I kinda had the feeling you never really respected him in the first place... kinda like how I don't really respect Rain. Don't get me wrong, I don't despise him, but I just felt he's kind of a weak character.

Like, other characters fight because someone murdered their family, or someone betrayed them, or to save the world. Rain just kinda fought for selfishness; because he felt he was entitled to something and he wasn't being given it. And there were some other characters who started out that way, but they quickly evolved and found a deeper purpose, something Rain hasn't done.

I could live with Rain, but I could definitely live without him too. The fact is, not everyone's gonna be in this game like MK9; lots of characters won't be coming back for this one, and not everyone's gonna get their favorites. But I think there are characters much higher on the "needs to return" list than Rain.

Can't we all just agree that Rain has zero chance of being in this wonderful game and leave it at that?

Everyone has a chance of appearing in MKX. it's up to the developers.

To be honest, despite that I said I don't care for this character, I did actually like the new story they gave him in 2011. If they stray away from the whole "I'm a prince" story, and just stick with this, his character might become a little bit more serious than a joke.

Because his ending actually makes him a freaking threat. You FIND that he's related to Argus and abuses that to try to take the armies that Kahn gave him and invade Outland and Earthrealm.

If they just stay with this and not fuck it up, he'll be a more serious character and that is what I've wanted all along. But it was just his previous stories were just, "I'm a prince, fear me, blah blah blah prince!"

Yes, and Rain is to blame for that... as he created his own character...

He couldn't really grow with somebody who hates him (Ed Boon) giving him no real chance.

Him being DLC and in almost no game probably has something to do with him being unable to grow in storyline.

And if all characters fight for something, why not have one that purely fights for himself?

It could be a joke, but many Rain fans will hate Boon for that. So I don't think he should mock fans of Rain that much.

Hey, they did put rain in MK9 as DLC even though Boon hates him, didn't they. there is some chance, however it's very small.

Rain is more than that joke. But people don't care.

Everytime I would fight with this guy I'd say "Rain is about to make it rain bitches!" Lol I honestly wouldn't mind seeing him in there's a lot that could be done with his story sadly the same could be said for other characters who probably won't be making the cut in mkx

His MK9 ending states "His heroics were befitting of a son of Argus" and "direct descendant of an Edenian god". I would say there is cohesion to his story. He is clearly a son of Argus, and a demi-god, and royalty according to both MKA and MK9. Better start following your own advice. You are the last person here that should be talking about manners...
