That's the thing I don't understand. MK makes money. It made money even in the 3D era days. MK9 sold well. MKX sold incredibly well. So why they keep insisting on leaning on guest characters for DLC like a crutch, even when there are still classic Trilogy characters not used in the base game, is beyond me. Obviously MK characters sell.

A pack with Noob Saibot, Sindel, Fujin and Bo Rai Cho would sell incredibly well because the casuals get Trilogy characters and the die-hards get characters from both eras. Guests just aren't needed.

People were bitching about this game before it came out about about how the game's roster was mostly classics returning.

That's just SOME of the utter bullshit that I kept seeing throughout last year. What pleases you people? Seriously, what the hell pleases you? They can't always please every single person that wants something from them. There's really no pleasing the 90% of you, and that's so fucking stupid.


And of course I'm at the 10% trying to enjoy what we're given, and all I get are people saying I'm either a sheep, I drink Netherrealm's cum, or I'm a casual fan. 'Cept, I've been a fan since the original, so I can't possibly be a casual, right? Oh, I like a guest every now and then, I must be.

What a laughably bad group of characters. Bo Rai Cho is the only one I would care about but I'm not drinking the NRS Kool Aid anymore so I will be skipping all these characters.

Again NPCs are a problem. You put them in and damn right people want them over your terrible guests.

Faction Wars ended up being rather underwhelming but thanks for the 5 backrounds. It's nice to cycle through them throughout the seasons.



Everyone defending NRS and throwing around the words entitled/brat/spoiled should understand one thing: I am not loyal to NRS. I am loyal to Mortal Kombat. I don't want your awful guests and you are not getting a pat on the back for "making more content" when the content flat out sucks right out at the gate.

So When they do a good job on something, grand and I have provided praise to things I like (or on other sites) When they do something stupid like this I will hate it.

That's the problem. The guests are not "every now and then" but are a costant pain in the back since mk(2011) which had two, Injustice (Scorpion) and now MK X which has 4, I repeat 4, of them as Dlc.

This is utter non-sense, I won't support Nrs. I did the mistake of buying Kp1 when it was discounted (but I've spent the same amount that would cost all 4 characters, so Predator and Jason were free for me), but I won't fall for it this time.
I haven't bought mk vs dcu, never bought Freddy (he was in the komplete edition), never bought Injustice and won't buy kp2.

I hope other people will follow my footsteps.

Okay I've had the night to let it sink in. As a fan and a consumer who puts a lot of money into MK, I'm disappointed to the point where I'm pissed.

Bo and Triborg, as long as Triborg has a story reason, is gold. I truly love that for so many reasons from story to roster.

It's like this for every game, I can't understand it. This fanbase is toxic and what's worse is it's making me just as negative. Every time something new is announced I come to the forums hoping that maybe this time I'll see some like minded people who want to talk about how much they love this game. Positive Ion: I'm very happy with most of the things they did for Reptile. I think he has never looked better I love all of his costumes minus MK3 (but thats because I prefer MK2), his story is picking up better than the old canon/MK9 and the guy has a voice now. And lines. Good lines.

Negative Ion: I hate what they did to Baraka. Great design. Most fucked over character in MKX bar none.

I could bang on about the positives all day but you will only read about the negatives because you don't really care. you just want to complain about me complaining about it.

If this was really catered to "causal" fans, why the fuck does that matter? They're fans! They're entitled to shit as well. You can't always get everything going your way. This game was never catered to a portion of their fans. This game was catered to everyone. And if they want to split DLC to a certain portion of fans, then so be it. Don't waste your $30 on it, wait for the next pack. That is if you're not "boycotting" Netherrealm forever.

My problem is the reaction this pack is getting. It's absurd. A bunch of you are acting as if Netherrealm just put 16 bullets in you. I'm disregarding people now because it's nothing but repeated shit that I've read over 16 pages of.

In the end, it's a game. I can get over a decision that's not to my liking, despite I have no problems with this pack. I'd like to read more positive shit for this pack. But the moment says anything positive, they're immediately called out on and get treated like they're nothing but a measly casual who's sucking Netherrealm's big fat dick.

The more time that passes the more I like Triborg. I think it's actually a logical step forward for the Lin Kuei pre - Sub Zero takeover. Lin Kuei is for life. Even if you leave we own your ass. They're kinda like Konami. They dont care if they lose Iga and Kojima. They'll just make Castlevania and MGS themselves.

Also, this could be used as a great way to get Cyrax and Smoke involved in the future. Im sure both of them will be pissed that someone is manufacturing assassins based on their skills. A team up may even be in the cards. Especially if Razor's idea about Sektor being behind Triborg is true. Tekunin vs Lin Kuei! Ninja wars!

The other characters are pretty meh for me, but I know lots of other people are happy about Bo and/or the guests so Im happy for them. Those people definitely arent on this site though. Haha

It seems most people complain about guest characters, yet they're always the biggest sellers. Which means that alot of the people complaining about guest characters are still buying them.

On another note, I'm going to assume if we get The Pit stage that it will be separate from the actual Kombat Pack and will probably cost $2.99 or so. I also recall that there will be a classic Tremor skin, so that will probably be in one of the compatibility packs.

In conclusion, I believe they stated at some point that they wanted to give Reptile a tail in this game but couldn't make it work, but now the Alien has a tail. Hmmm....

The first ones to come up with the idea was the midway team during early stages od mk trilogy developement, when a cyber was supposed to replace all the cyborgs.

Triborg is 3 INCOMPLETE characters if you want to go that route, by definition of MKX's variation system.

Each cyborg will be stuck with one variation. Will probably share a lot of moves or will play similarly. (Assuming it has universal specials like everyone else). Probably one non cannon ending. Etc.

Boon deserves every ounce of venom he's getting. They've been teasing KP 2 for months. Gave a silhouette teaser over a month ago, made us wait over a month for the reveal and this is what they're giving the fans? This was pure bait and switch.
