NRS listened to everyone. That's the important part. They took feedback from everyone and made this pack.

"We want 3D era characters!" clamored the hardcore fans!


Here's Bo' Rai Cho! One of the only guys from all the 3D era games!


"It's not Mortal Kombat without cyborgs!", "I want Sektor!, "I want Cyrax!", "I want Smoke!" clamored the fans on every plateform possible!


Here's a cyborg. And not only a cyborg : he's every god damned Cyborg in MK history!


"The Alien would be bad ass! Alien VS Predator would be awesome!" clamored the fans on social media!


Here he is! In standard Alien fashion, he's taking cues from his victim too! And this time he's combined with our resident monster race, the Tarkatans!

I like Max, but he's not unbiased anymore. He helped Iron Galaxy with Killer Instinct season 2 dlc iirc so he's technically in the business now. That makes him less likely to trash any game developers in fear of losing out on potential work.

Someone's pissy this morning. There's 4 guests in one MK game's lifecycle. It's painstakingly obvious that's going to rub A LOT of people the wrong way.

The only feedback they took was from WB saying "Put more guests in. I don't care what you have to do just do it." I mean yeah we get Bo and that's awesome. Triborg is an attempt to please all cyborg fans but as a Cyrax and Sektor fan this doesn't do it for me. Either make them full characters or don't include them. Ain't no half steppin' here. Because when you try to please everyone, you please no one. That's exactly what happened with Triborg the clusterfuck.

No reason for me to be pissy. I enjoy who "I'm" getting for KP2. You guys are the unhappy bunch and that's unfortunate for you.

I noticed something odd about it. There was a picture of every character in MKX on the poster and an extra character named Salizar. He looked very similar to Erron Black, but was more red and menacing appearing. Plus Erron already had his picture elsewhere on the poster. This is the only time I've seen a picture of Salizar.

Now I see why NRS never acknowledges/thanks/lists this site whenever they are talking about MK sites and stuff lol we have some awesome people here but we are also full of manchildren that have tantrums if they don't get everything they wanted exactly the way they wanted it. Its ok to not like something and to be vocal about it, but why is it so hard to do it in a somewhat mature and/or civilized manner?

So many thoughts.

I'll start with this: Most of the people complaining are getting exactly what they deserve. The slippery slope started with Freddy's inclusion last game, but the majority of people were OK with having him in there. Those of us who complained were shouted down and told "It's DLC, no one is forcing you to buy it." That was your rallying cry and I'm glad it's being thrown back in your faces now. You don't like Leatherface? Well then don't buy him .

This is a business based on making money. Who was the biggest seller for DLC last game? Freddy. So now WB and NRS have a blueprint for profit and you can't be surprised that they ran with it.

Second, people absolutely were calling for Leatherface's inclusion. On this very board no less. Now I'm not saying it was a lot of posters, but I remember it well because I strained my eyes rolling them so much. People wanted a Horror/Halloween Pack and all because of the Pandora's box including Freddy Krueger unleashed. Maybe if more people complained and didn't buy Freddy we wouldn't be getting all the guest characters now.

Third, you can't please everybody and that's probably how NRS is approaching things now. There are people who love Rain and people who hate Rain. How do you appease both groups? You can't. There is always going to be some group who says "Why is so and so in the game and not this character?" I'll bet NRS is tired of the broken record they get every time they release a game.

Finally, and I have Mortal Kombat (2011) to thank for this, I've picked up the practice of not buying games until long after they're released. This way I can 1) save money, 2) see what DLC there is, and 3) wait for a potential Game of the Year/Complete edition. I was in no hurry to play this game (back log is too big admittedly) and when the price drops/"Komplete" edition comes out, I will have spent a fraction of the price compared to buying everything new. More importantly, I'll have experienced no disappointment or rage because I'll know exactly what I'm getting.

I wish I had the patience for that......but I don't. lol

After browsing through NeoGAF, Twitter, Facebook, TYM, TRMK, Gamefaqs, Reddit and some YouTube comments.....the sheer amount of salt and hatred at this pack compared to that of KP1 is astounding......and I love it all. I hope Ed Boon and those bushy brows are taking it all in after not being able to show off that trailer last night at TGA.

I really, really hope if people buy anything from this fucking pack, it's Bo Rai Cho, Triborg and The Pit and skip the other two completely. I would love to see the looks on their faces if sales aren't even close to Jason/Predator's. Would fucking serve them right for shoveling so much of this guest BS in this franchise at once. Everything about this has been a giant clusterfuck. They way they teased it and got flack for it. The way they initially announced it and got flack for not actually revealing a damn thing other than its official existence. And now this overflow of salt over two more guests. It's like they never fucking learn. Well, now hopefully they do.

And just for the record, this is no spoiled mantantrum. This is just me reaching my limit of putting up with their bullshit gimmicky marketing ploys and shitty DLC practices. I've had enough. Yes, it's great they want to support their game post launch with more content. But seriously, what the fuck? Do it with MORTAL KOMBAT characters for fucking Christ's sake. I don't buy Call of Duty expecting a God damn James Bond expansion pack or a fucking bonus Gears of War level with Master Chief. I buy MK to play MK characters. If NRS is so gung-ho about horror icons, go make a new franchise for that.

After a good nights sleep and plenty of water to counteract the salt, I'm not as pissed with the Triborg, but I'd rather have Cyrax solo. I'm reserving all judgment when I see him in action. I will definitely be buying Bo Rai Cho. Leather Face at this point can FUCK OFF...no one requested that bastard. The xenomorph is the one I'm still unsure of. I'm currently 40/60 on it.

Like I said with the Triborg this pack brings 6 characters rather than 4 when you think about it.....
But still seeing their choices I'm like; Meh

All the NRS minions sucking all the cum that NRS splashes out is hilirious. Ok u like the pack? thats cool! just stop acting like an NRS cop.

The developers should care about MK fans. Especially the fans that stayd with the franchise in the worst times. But NRS and Boon rather listens to RANDOM fans instead. That's what makes most core fans angry, and they have all the right to. If MK loses their fans, i bet they can hang them self up. They won't survive in the fighting game community.

Keep thinking youre trolling the fans Ed Fucking. Boon. But you are rather destroying the strongest factor MK always had, the fans.

This fanbase is 90% self-entitled, whiny children who I'm convinced just love to hate this franchise. The other 10% are genuinely enjoying themselves while trying to ignore the constant stream of negativity. There is no strength to be found here.

The only character I'm interested in buying in this whole pack is Bo Rai Cho. As a huge fan of the movies Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Alien I'm sadly just not interested in these two guests in the slightest. Like I've said before. I like guests. I think they could be fun, but man I'm all guested out in MKX for sure. I'm not one of those die hard Fujin fans either but it just blows my damn mind that he wasn't included in this pack. I thought for sure he was a shoe in, but they snubbed him again.

Baraka is once again reigning King of the Jobbers, but that's whatever to me at this point. Hopefully he'll be back in MK11. This Xenokatan hybrid is stinging me a little, but what can you do? It's happening and it's not stopping.

Coldsteel the Cyborg blows. Uninteresting design and gimmicky as hell with the variation stuff. Now you can play as your favorite robot with only 1/3rd the fun!

Coming back to Bo one last time I'm dying to see what they do with him. Is he gonna be taken "seriously" like some people are hoping? Or is he gonna be the same ol' farting puking kung fu master of old. I'm rooting for the latter.

I mean most people stick to one variation anyway so I don't see an issue with each character getting one variation as nice as one of them being in on their own would have been.

Because it's not just me that doesn't care for this joke of a pack. Which is what it is. An awful joke to be made fun of.

If there's one thing NRS understands it's salt. They are very quick to change things we don't like such as Cyber Sub and the scantily clad female designs. Maybe, just maybe WB will see that cash grabs really isn't the best way to utilize MK.

I mean I'm willing to bet a pack with Fujin, Bo, Li Mei, and Rain would outsell this garbage.

Completely agreed on all accounts. After calming down a bit I'm also really interested to see the direction they're going to take Bo' Rai Cho. Whatever it is, I hope it can prove that this character is awesome and should be included in later games.

I'm actually most surprised at Bo' Rai Cho's inclusion. Of all the characters, I honestly was not expecting him at all. I fucking love Bo, but most people don't, so I really didn't think that he had a chance, but i'm really happy they took the risk in bringing him in because he's one character that does deserve it.

I feel bad for you and Baraka, btw. Are you excited at all?
