At least we know he DOES poses better martial arts skills than anyone in MK Annihilation combined (okay a bit far fetched, but you know what I mean)

So based on what's been reported this is for the new movie and since they brought in actors with fighting skills then this must really be happening. I hope we get some more news on this.

As some of you people may know, Michael Jai White told IGN that White believed the shoot was a marketing component for the game. Link: http://movies.ign.com/articles/109/1095467p1.html

Yeah, but everything else is pointing at this being for the new movie.
He said he "believes" after all. He didn't confirm.
But what about that render of Sub-Zero another user posted? It's the same one seen in the teaser. Ugh, this is such a mindfuck.

Like Santar and many others have already said, it could be both. I hope it's both. We will find out in less than a week.

I think after what all I've heard that the people behind this trailer posted it on youtube after pitching it to studios, used credible actors and makeup effects to get a new improved R rated MK movie filmed and released. I think this is one whole big scheme to see how the general internet audience takes it to try and help with the selling of this "pitch" to studios. Hopefully it gets made with the same cast.

Show me this render... I missed it.
I saw it in the video, but not else where.

It's definitely got to be for the game. I've never heard of anyone releasing and almost 8 min video for a movie, especially just for mortal kombat.

Hey _JRF_, I know you don't know, but what do you think the teaser is for? A game or a movie?

Yeah I too think it's for the game. I think they revealed a bit too much information in that one teaser trailer for that to be a movie.

I've only just seen the video and my initial reactions is pretty much summed up in one word - WOW! It's definitely not what I expected. I really hope we get answers soon as to what this is for.

How have they revealed too much for it to be a movie?

Well ProfesserAhnka, I may be wrong, but I don't think a teaser for a movie would be any more than a minute long.

I hope it's not. I think it's dumb to waste all that money on a live action teaser with well known actors with zero footage from the game in which it's supposedly representing.
Just focus on making a great game instead of fancy teasers.

Not all movie teasers are the same.
Besides, this most likely isn't a teaser. It's a demo to get investers interested.
