My point was that the list is just a reference. And that were not just random people on forums. MK is a cult classic. And imho, WE are the backbone.

Well no one goes completely unused in any game but still even if Sheeva was better she still wouldn't have player flocking to her. Tier can definitely influence who gets used but ultimately I think people pick who they like.

If Sheeva had a better move set and a cool looking, updated costume I would definitely use her more. I like the basic concept of her as a character a lot, a female Shokan, and if she comes back in the future I think she would be more interesting as a hero than as a villain.

That fucking, corrupted, good-for-nothing list should be burned to ashes.

All characters are changed in a huge way anyway by gaining 3 variations, so why go over such as stupid list made whole by Noobs and boring humanoid that can't think further than MK1 and just pick the characters that they recognize.

I hate Boon if he's really going off on that horrid list, if the characters are LOW on the list, its time to get some work into them, not discard them because YOU failed at making them more interesting for players.

Mileena has more fans than any other girl, just check youtube, facebook and especially Deviantart, most artworks are about her and Kitana, not about Sonya.

So can that stupid, annoying list finally be burned? I hate that list and I hope MK X won't have such a list, its unfair to the characters.

This post pretty much says it all. It's not just Stryker and Sheeva. It's a bunch of other characters that were played a lot by casual players like Kabal and Mileena. That's why this discussion started. And the reply you got to all this was a question like "Do you think that's why Sheeva wasn't played much?". Really? All this thorough explanation and diirect decided to stay on this little point...How typical -.-' Anyway there's nothing else to be said here I think. A bunch of people tried to explain a simple thing to those two and they still cant seem to grasp it. So let's just leave it at that. Just one little thing. Those people who try so hard to prove that the same characters are always used more, gimme some proof please. Somewhere that says the same characters that were in the top10 of the "list" were in the same position in MKDA, MKD and vsDC. I'd like to see that.

Great sig art. Is it yours? They all look really cool, I love this variation of Kitana's costume, but shouldn't she be wearing a mask? If Mileena and Jade are in masks then Kitana should be in a mask, or if at least Jade is in a mask, Kitana should be in a mask. Lol

And no, I don't want Kitana to wear a mask. My depiction of her is based on her MKDA main outfit, as the Princess of Edenia and a leader to her people, not as a masked assassin. Mileena and Jade still are though, while Mileena also wears her mask for another obvious reason.

No its unfair because all those newbies and returnies that skipped many games only play with the MK1 cast anyway, and the ones that are easy to control.

That's why its unfair for the other characters.

without seeing a list im pretty sure: scorpion, liu kang, sub zero, and raiden were among the top 5-8 used in those games.

The list has flaws but then any way to gather data does. It would be naive not to use data available to get information on characters.

Do you have a better way to correlate data on character usage?

It is normal to use the list for example marketing. The top three characters on the Playstation 3 list were Scorpion, Raiden and Sub-Zero. Is it a coincidence that these characters were the first three returning characters in Mortal Kombat X? I do not think so.

Dismissing the list is naive. If the list was not relevent then NRS would not waste time and resources collecting the data in the first place.

If Kitana is ruling Edenia, wouldn't Jade be in Kitana's VIP clique and not still an assassin?

Quan Chi is no. 26 out of 31 on that list... which is pretty low. However, I'm pretty sure he's going to be in MKX. Hence why your arguement is invalid. ^^
