Well With MkConquest tv series, Noob Saibot is a parasite outworld warrior trapped in a cave in a realm I forgot. the basic plotline of him trying to trick warriors from various realm to releasing him and secretly riding out on them.

Also There was a good battle between Noob Saibot and Siro near the end.

I'm convinced it's a new guy under the mask because of what happened in MK9's story mode. PLUS, I heard Raiden and Scorpion have the same voice actors from MK9 but Subby does not. To me that is further indication that it's someone new.

Okay I’m sorry no I haven’t read the entire thread feel free to bight my head off if I am repeating something already discussed in here or, for purposing this semi stupid idea which I am sure most hard core vets will hate.

Has anyone considered the possibility that we might have a new Sub-Zero due to Kuai Liang abandoning the Lin Kuie Sub-Zero mantle since he abandoned the clan and seeing how it’s established he has a name now, it doesn’t make sense why he would keep the code name that was given to him by an organisation that ripped bits and pieces of his humanity away from him.

So we might possibly have two cryomancer characters? One being full on Sub-Zero the other being a mix and mash of tech and ice powers? Just a more than unlikely possibility. Thought I would just throw it out there.

Not trying to be one it's just getting really annoying the back and forth. With a few particular people coming in here to just shit on everyone.

Hm. Considering that MK-Team have used some ideas from MK "Expanded Universe", I wouldn't exclude this possibility. Though, it would be quite strange, almost out of nowhere thing, and if they do this, I expect part of the fandom to explode from rage. The worst part I mean.

Considering how versatile Sub is with his ice powers now I don't know what'd be left for her. Maybe something Killer Frostish.

I am really looking forward to seeing her return, but im not sure how willing NRS would be to bring her back.

Adding another SZ might make more sense but then you just crowd up the history with SZ's and it might become confusing when you mention SZ.

So Kuai Liang gets my vote. besides he's been the established Sub Zero that we've grown to like. Please let the Cyber SZ not even be cannon.

I seem to recall an interview where Boon stated that Noob is the original Sub while Saibot is his shadow. This was around early pre-dlc MK9 I think.

Kuai could not return as modified as a kind of demon ice? That would be up with a bow for him say Sareena resume Humanity (or at least not have the same fate as his brother).

I remember that interview. When he said that, the context was vague, but I interpreted the statement as that was the way the developers labeled the gameplay style affectionately. It didn't sound like Boon was saying the shadow is canonically named "Saibot."

Personally, I think I new SZ would be really stupid and not make any sense at all. Unless there's some rando third brother we never heard of, why would someone take the Sub-Zero name? Will it just be some weird stalker who was obsessed with the brothers? And we all know that Scorpion has no storyline without a Sub-Zero so adding a new one for Scorp to fight would just be ridiculous.

I don't care if it's Kuai Liang or Bi-Han, though I'd prefer Bi-Han because I don't want Noob to be gone for good. I'm sure he'll sit this game out, but it's MK and there's always a way to bring someone back. Though, I wouldn't mind if Kuai Liang came back and Scorpion learned he wasn't responsible for his clans deaths and they teamed up to take out Quan Chi.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is, no new Sub-Zero.

I've always had the impression that the name Noob Saibot was a title for a Netherealm member of Shinnok's Brotherhood of the Shadows (maybe a high ranking position). In MK Conquest (500 years ago) it was occupied by some other formidable warrior, by the looks of it an Enenra who still possessed some of the powers from his earthly life, in his fight with Siro transforming into Smoke. Or was that shadow? Whichever, it was cool

We'll only know "who it is" when we go through storymode. It's not like Boon will reveal him in a storymode reveal.
I hope there are NO storymode reveals period! Just let us find out on our own, from start to end. Revealing anything storymode will ruin the hype.

If it were Bi-Han magically back in human form after turning into a zombie with different powers AND having his soul ripped to pieces in an explosion, would that bother you less enough that you only mention having a problem with Kuai by name?

A fresh new Sub-Zero will kill the character. He's probably the most popular one of the franchise (as we're posting here he's fighting Ermac in the Online User Poll final). He's so popular because he's unique, the last of his race, the enigmatic cryomancers from the icy mountains in Outworld. OK, 2 Sub-Zeros, one evil and one good works great. Noob Saibot is kool. But another Sub-Zero? It kills the story. A sea of Sub-Zeros?? WTF? This has got to be the biggest mistake in the history of NRS. If this happens, I am certain that Sub-Zero won't be in the top 5 most popular MK characters in 2 years time.
