Rain hasn't been considered a joke since before he was playable... Since then he has always been an ordinary character with his own moves and story. There isn't even anything funny about him... Anyone who didn't know MK history would come into the series and not even realize Rain is a purple prince, and if they did they'd just think it was an amusing coincidence... He became a normal character almost immediately, with the joke (which was really more of a trick to get players searching for hidden characters) becoming just a bit of trivia about the character's creation. That's not to say he's all that serious of a character or a significant one but... He's past the point of joke character.

Aside from the fact that he is a Prince reference, there's nothing funny about him.

ive always complained about her existence being pointless. though taven is more original then frost, i enjoyed frosts story and playing as her better then i did taven.

It will always be relevant. That song is his creation story. Without that song, we wouldn't even have Rain.

I'll admit Rain has come a long way. Cool story, fun gameplay, interesting look, but that doesn't change the fact he was and still IS... A Prince reference.

By the same logic, Noob Saibot will always be just Boon and Tobias written backwards.

IMO, it doesn't matter where the inspiration to create the character comes from as long as the character is good enough, and that's where Rain is miles ahead of the likes of Meat or Mokap.

Well yeah, Noob Saibot will always be Boon Tobias to ME. I'm not saying the origins of the character should dictate a person's opinion on a character. I just think that it is somewhat important to remember where characters came from.

Taven. I never really got into frost.

Have to go with Frost. She was a fun character to play as in Deadly Alliance. She has a lot of potential and I could see her being in MK10

Damn, that's really tough for me.

I've already got my picks made out for the first round. Sareena will be my choice against Dairou.

I'm more interested in the second round where Raiden and most likely Fujin will face off. Also Sonya and Kano. Round 2 looks to be like some good stuff.

I've already lost this round with Taven and Frost. I voted for Taven, but I fear that vote is lost. I think Frost has got this one in the bag.

Taven, i never really liked Frost

Frost is cool. Taven, not so much. He's got a badass name, but his character is so underdeveloped and he doesn't seem to have motivation for going on his quest.

Taven vs Frost

Tavens alright. While I like Sujinko better, Taven is a pretty good hero. He was a good substitute after Liu turned zombie on us.

His moves- Ehhh. Pretty plain.

His story-Only made for Armageddon. I dont like Armaggedon but Konquest saved it from complete failure.

Frost is just a copycat of Sub-zero. Not a good thing.

Her moves- Copycat of Sub-zero. Except weaker.

Her story- Not that bad. But its just her going crazy and then Sub-zero freezing her over and over.
