I think it'll be pretty neat if whoever wins this thing could possibly be DLC for Injustice. I doubt it'll happen, but hmmm, what do you all think?

thats actually a pretty cool idea. Though imagine if a crap character won the tournament like Kira. that would totally suck for injustice. LOL.

I was thinking they'd be pretty even. I mean, Mileena probably has the bigger fan base, but I've sort of gotten the impression that a few people strongly dislike her as well. With Jade it always seems there's more indifference than outright dislike. I would guess Mileena is the more polarizing one and Jade will be getting some extra votes because of that. That is the exact face I made when I read that, hehehe.

I voted Hotaru...I thought him and Havik were good additions.

Umm, he's the champ of the first two. Technically Sonya and Cage are co-champs of the third one. And going by the old timeline, Kang wins the 4th, but Li mei wins DA, and Scorpion wins Deception...and Shao Kahn wins Armageddon.

It's not that I like Hotaru but... I've always hated Liu Kang. How much more boring could a character get?

Hotaru was a great addition to the MK roster! His moves and appearance are rather unique, I loved his naginata fighting style and his background story, the whole Order VS Chaos aspect was a welcome addition to the game as well and he and Havik really complimented eachother. I hope to see both of them in the next game.

Liu Kang... I have never really liked him, to be honest. He is a rather standard hero character, a nice Bruce Lee representant in MK, but his looks, his moves, his story... I don't really care for it. He's boring, he's loud (in an annoying way) and I was glad when he finally died in MKDA and in the ending of the Story Mode of the newest MK. His zombie version just made him more ridiculous, though it was indeed an unforeseen plot twist I had not expected back then.

I vote for Hotaru. He's awesome!

Liu Kang hands down. i will be real disapointed if hes doesnt make it to the top 8.

I like Hotaru, he was the second best character introduced in Deception.. I hope he returns, but I've got to vote the God damn Lui Kang, I loved his Journey in this game, he started off the Lui Kang thats been around for years, loyal and he believed in Raiden. then as the game progresses he loses his friends and becomes remorseful, vengeful and angry.

I really hope Lui Kang isnt dead but if he winds up in MK10 I see him playing a really interesting roll!

Hotaru.

I love Hotaru's design and his gameplay is fun too. Storywise he's kind of interesting. Liu's gameplay is great and I like his special moves a lot, but his design is boring as well as his story and personality, although he's not as bad in MK2011. I also can't stand the annoying sounds he makes while fighting, especially in the latest game. Robin Shou was fine though, I liked his hair lol.

Much closer than I thought it would be, thats good.

I don't like that people feel obliged to vote for Liu Kang. I really don't see the interesting in him.

With each passing game Kang's girly screeches got more high pitched, more annoying, and more unbearble to listen to. Hotaru, Hotaru, a thousand times Hotaru.

I'm really curious to see how far some of the post-MK3 characters can get in this tournament. I hope that we some surprises, for sure.

That said, I still voted for Liu Kang. I like Hotaru's look, but that's pretty much where it ends for me. He has a variation on Liu Kang's bicycle kick and Sub Zero's ground freeze animation for his ground fireball. That type of stuff instantly takes points off for me.

Plus, while I like the idea of putting order and chaos in to a game, I hate that the MK team created realms for them, and I hated Hotaru's story overall.

Say what you will about Liu Kang's stupid turkey calls and the fact that he wins all the time (and the fact that he's a bit vanilla), but NRS has developed a unique move set and overall style for him, and to me at least, he was really fun to use in the last MK game. I almost tend to take him for granted, but for me, he's always been pretty fun to use.

Plus, he was the focal point for one of the greatest plot twists in the history of this series... Even if it didn't quite stick...

NRS could probably make Hotaru in to a great character, but I'd still most likely prefer Liu Kang.
