Nightwolf c'mon people compare them.
Nightwolf- a shaman with ties to the spirit world and a kick ass moveset to string together combos as well as appearance in nearly all MK games ( MK 4 and DA)
Kenshi- excellent swordsman with a vendetta against someone who recently has had his soul stolen. Blind telekinetic fueled by vengeance. Only been in 3 games.
Both great characters but I think nightwolf is the better of the two

Nearly all games? He's been in MK3-MKT, MKD, MKA and MK9. He wasn't in MK, MK2, MK4-MKG or MKDA. He's been in about half the games and he was only interesting in the newest game, in my opinion.
Though Kenshi has only been in four games which are MKDA, MKD, MKA and MK9 (all games released since his debut, not counting MKvsDCU as it isn't part of the canon series), he's been a beloved character all the way through and is considered one of the greatest characters of the next-gen games.
I know Kenshi is kick ass but I prefer nightwolf and i just meant he's been in a game more than Kenshi.
Also I have a thread open for voting for match ups of the losers of round 1. Match 1 is underway and it's Taven vs. Daegon here's the poll

They've been in the same amount of games if you don't count the MK3 updates. And Kenshi's longest hiatus was 5 years as opposed to Nightwolf's 8, if that means anything.

If hiatuses mean anything, then the fact that Nightwolf is 7 years Kenshi's senior must mean something.

I honestly wouldn't consider Armageddon as a game a character has been in. Every character returned in that game... Just count the other games.

What about MK Trilogy then? I counted that in as well.
Voted for Nightwolf even though at this point there is no way he can overtake Kenshi. Nightwolf was such a boss in story mode and his moveset and combos are cool as well. Plus his ascension fatality was one of the best in MK3.
Kenshi is a cool character too. His story is pretty generic but he is a high tier monster in MK9 with a unique moveset (except for the reflect he borrowed from Nightwolf), and both his fatalities are both winners.
Close one, but I prefer Nightwolf.

I don't really care about the amount of games a characters showed up in. Hack is better than Stryker,Nightwolf and even Kenshi, yet he appeared in a single game in addition in MKA.

They both began life as little more than colour swapped costumes -- now they're one of the marquee match-ups of Round 1! Ermac is a legion-being comprised of the souls of dead Edenian warriors, enslaved by the sorcery of Shao Kahn to do his bidding! Reptile is the last survivor of the realm Zaterra, taken in by Shao Kahn as a spy and bodyguard to Shang Tsung. Both fighters possesses unique skills, but only one can progress to the next round! Who will be the ultimate survivor?

Now THIS is a tough one.
I have always liked Reptile, he has a solid background story, some awesome moves and his design has evolved nicely throughout the games, though my favourite version is still his MK4 look. However, in the latest MK he was nothing but a mere background character, a punchbag and his appearance is not one of his better ones. That said, his gameplay has never been better! I love playing as him, he has some excellent special moves and combos, his fatalities are creative and cool and his Arcade Ladder ending is quite nice as well.
I didn't really have an eye for Ermac until MK Deception. Before that, I didn't really care for him. He was just another palette swap to me with no original moves of his own other than his one trademark Telekinetic Slam which I admit was quite cool, but that was all he had going on for him. And then Kenshi came in and got the move instead and I already found Kenshi alot more interesting than Ermac when he debuted in MKDA.
Then in MKD, something happened. Ermac got a more unique look and storyline, and his moveset was alot more original. In the latest MK, he looked even better and was presented quite awesomely. His alternate outfit is easily one of my favourite looks in the whole game. He is the first of the palette swap ninjas to have finally become a whole unique character in looks while Reptile still has some remnants of the palette swap look.
This is a real close one, but I think I will vote for Ermac.

Reptile. Obviously.
Ermac.
The only time I like Reptile was in MKDA. Everythign about him was perfect in that game, and dat crab stance was GDLK. (I wished it was in MKA.) And I hate human Reptile... and Smoke.
Ermac has a much better story, design, and is fun to play.. But I prefer him being made of Outworld souls, like in the old TL.....

As of when I write this, the poll says 50% on both Reptile and Ermac!
This is going to be an interesting match.
This is going to be an interesting match.
To me, only in MK4 did Reptile have any depth.
It was the only time anyone, including himself, recognized him as more than a servant. It was also the first time Reptile grew some balls and stood up for himself. Beyond this, I've never seen Reptile as anything other than somebody's tool.
I used to see Ermac the same way, then MKD was made, and I found a whole new respect for him. I can honestly say I prefer him good. He has more purpose there. Hopefully NRS will make him good again.
Obviously, I'm voting for Ermac.
