Wow, there are seriously this much more Noob fans than Sonya fans on MKO? I'm not angry or anything, just really surprised is all.

Also, I'm don't think that Noob died seeing as how he is already dead. Can he die twice?

It's funny to me how people say over and over that Rain is a joke character, yet they flip it around and demand respect if anyone tries to say Noob is one himself. I mean, his name is so stupid! It makes no sense that Bi-Han would be turned into something with a completely different name, and I can't get past it. It's a very forced and lame twist, to me, to pander to the Sub-Zero nut clingers. It clearly worked though, haha.

So what is the wraith version of Jax gonna be called? Nhoj Legov?

So, you're somewhat finding it difficult for people to spend time on the internet, with their free time, and kind of complaining about it on here while it seems that you have enough free time to waste to post about how we should find something else to do with our spare time... in a thread that has people voting for their favorite characters winning a little fun tournament.

I guess that it depends on how many total votes were cast, but 54% to 46% is still a pretty healthy lead. He's not wiping th floor with her, I agree, but then again, I thought for sure going in that the percentages would be reversed.

I just don't really get all of the love that Noob gets. Yes, he's Bi-Han. That's great. He has a great story element and origin. Everything else about him, from his looks throughout the years to his moves throughout the years all just kinda scream "middle of the road" to me. Not bad, but nothing great either.

I guess I just didn't see him even making it to this round, knocking off Scorpion, and then when it happened, I kinda figured it had more to do with Scorpion hate than anything else, but to go through both him AND Sonya?

Again, color me surprised.

I didn't condemn anyone. Don't slippery slope my statements. My first post was about the Nightwing guy tearing up the forums, not about either of you girls. You'll also notice that I signed up for these forums, which would seem to indicate that I want to be here, and post as well.

Actually Nihoj Legov is kind of cool sounding. I wouldn't hate that. But you have to assume that all those people who died in the last one aren't really dead, right?

Lol because Smoke is cool and his favorite color is lavender. Uh, to be honest he's popular because he has fans .

Yeah, but here's my thing with Smoke

-Doesn't really have that great of a story, outside of being a cyborg turned against his will. That was actually cool and then they totally dropped the ball with it. What a waste it was, but that's how it is. He doesn't have that great of a story.

-His fighting style has been limited to say the least. Until MK9, I feel that NRS struggled to get a firm moveset for the guy. He never has had that great of a moveset, IMO.

- He hasn't really appeared in many games.

- He's grey. Which I guess I find kind of boring. He also got the long hair in this last game which just looks ridiculous IMO.

Just overall he's not THAT great of a character. I admit he is a decent character, but to be as popular as he is, I mean he's 5th on the official site behind Scorpion, Raiden, Sub-Zero, and Liu Kang it just really shocks me. I don't understand why. He's never done anything important and he's never had just a stellar moveset. However his popularity remains through the roof. I just feel that characters like Kitana, Sonya, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage. I feel they all deserve more popularity than Smoke.

Someone brought up that maybe it's because he was a secret character, but Reptile was the FIRST secret character and he isn't as popular as Smoke is.

They also suggested maybe it's because he's so totally tied to Sub-Zero and some Sub-Zero fans like him as well, but I'm a Sub-Zero fan and I don't really like him. If it wasn't for him Sub-Zero probaly wouldn't be a walking refrigerator.

I guess I just find him uninteresting, and his popularity shocks the hell out of me because he hasn't been in a lot of games, and doesn't have a great story. It's just MY opinion though. I just don't see what it is with him.

Bi Han could be renamed toNoob Saibot for the same reason that Hanzo Hasashi can be changed to Scorpion when he died.

I will admit revealing Bi Han as Noob Saibot did gain him more popularity though. Bi Han does have "nut clingers". Some of them wouldn't let his death go, and they revealed that he was Noob Saibot. Sounds good to me though because it made a character who was previously irrelevant, relevant. I still think that they hinted at Noob SAibot being the elder sub-zero as far back as UMK3 though. With Elder Subz ending saying he was someone who had been absent from the tournament, and then in MKGold when he had a fatatlity that consisted of freezing someone I believe. It was coming for a long time, but they finally made it come to fruition in Deception and I still think it was one of the BEST twists in MK history.

It also shut some of the Kuai Liang haters up, and I love Kuai Liang so it was cool with me.lol.

Back to talking about the poll... I think I'm the only one not surprised by Noob's lead.

I can't believe people complain about retconning characters. Anyone who hates on Noob because of his current story, I point you to example W.

Wolverine, the most popular comic character ever, started out as an anthropomorphic animal, turned into a crazed teenager, and had NONE of the elements that people love him for until other writers started changing the character. He was just a weirdo with claws. Batman used to use guns and kill EVERONE, Superman's powers include anything they want him to do at the time, and Captain America straight up died for like 15 years at one point. Revisionism is the best form of storytelling. Live in it, man.

One problem with your facts.Hanzo was already called scorpion.It was a nickname(or sorts) for his speed and deadly fighting style.

You know I find that only a scarce few MK characters are hated. Scorpion definitely isn't one of them but Noob was impressive in this game. I mean so was Sonya don't be me wrong, I voted for her and she's probably my second favorite character and this game was definitely a return to form for her after the last cycle of games but they still didn't quite...bring it with her. Next game I hope they take her heels, giver her a shirt, and leave that dumb-ass leg split fatality in the trenches with Jax growing giant and Quan Chi stretching your neck.

Noob had a pretty perfect portrayal to me. I do have to wonder however how many people really like him and how many people just like winning with him a la Smoke.

One thing I do this is odd is that people associate him with Sub-Zero. It's like he's barely Bi-han. He bares no semblance what so ever to his former self so I don't understand why people would vote for him as the former Sub-Zero.

I wonder how many people like Noob on the basis of him formerly being Sub-Zero. I want to say I saw it quite a bit when he was up against Scorpion. They're probably in the greater minority though.

I disagree with Scorpion. He is a polarizing character amongst the hardcore fans. If this was like a gamefaqs poll Scorpion definitely would've won but MK fans know more about other characters and such.

I don't doubt that there are people that hate Scorpion but I think a lot of long time fans have grown indifferent towards him.
