I'm hopeing he Round House serves more of a defense then a offensive. Meaning no crazy damage. I hope he is at least balanced with the other players as well as Tournament worthy. Well have tot see Jully 19th

Ahhh, I can see that now. I just though Rain evaporated while driving him into the ground. So it's not an Izuna Drop as I first thought.
Then it's only the teleport uppercut that is like Sektor's.

I just noticed something else!!!
Rain's Teleport Uppercut is not really an uppercut. He is upside down, kicking the opponent with an upward kick and NOT a fist!

Looks great. I'll buy him. Only nitpick I have is that he still has the lightning strike. Yeah I know he had it originally but Nightwolf has used it more recently, plus we already have a thunder god.
It just seems out of place now that all of his other moves use water. I think his x-ray geyser would've been a perfect alternative to the lightning strike while having the same result.

mkwhopper, I already told you to stop double posting, and yet you continued in this thread twice (I edited the first time, but I'm not this time). Seriously, edit your posts instead of making another one right after the first.

Wasn't expecting much from from a bland, filler character like Rain. His reveal trailer wasn't as awesome as Kenshi's or Noob's back in the day and he's not a must-buy:
Stupid looking character with a stupid looking intro, stolen moves from Noob Saibot, Sektor, Sindel and Reptile along with some combos that seem strangely familiar to other characters' combos. He's nowhere as awesome as the other DLC characters (Kenshi and Skarlet) or anyone else on the roster for that matter.. well maybe he's better than Sheeva, but who isn't better than Sheeva these days...
However, I did like his bubble move and his bubble fatality, but only because it opens up the opportunity of Kitana getting a classic fatality and with her MK2 costume coming up... make it happen NRS.

After most of the characters in MK9 (including Skarlet and, especially, Kenshi), met all my expectations about how they should be (except for designs, but that's another can of worms), it was only rightful and logical to expect that NRS will not broke it's almost perfect record in making all characters really separate from each other.
With Rain they dropped the ball, kind of. Too many shared moves even if they have different animations attached to them.
Don't be confused, I don't hate Rain, never did. But what was shown today gave me a sour taste in my mouth and reminded about dreadful times of MKD and MKA where some characters shared many moves for no reason. It's a problem not with the characters himself, but with how he was realized.
Now I wonder - what would've become of fourth character? And what will be in store after him / her...?

Beat me to it.
Also, regarding Rain's throw:
Click
He actually does come down with Quan Chi, and evaporates before hitting the ground.
One subtle difference between this throw and Noob's teleport would be that Rain falls chest to chest with his opponent, whereas Noob falls chest to back. The animations are not the same.
I don't agree with those who say he's sharing animations with other characters. This reminds me of when Sindel's gameplay was finally revealed, and how a certain number of you believed that her scream animation was similar to the animation of Sonya's kiss. If you take the time to look at the animations clearly, you will observe differences in execution. Subtle, yet they are there.

Study your MK history, bro.
The only move he's (arguably) copied was that telepunch.
Anything else that looks familiar was Rain's FIRST,
and the others are the thieves. Can't blame Rain for yanking a move after having his own moves stolen or swept under the rug until now.
I've gotten used to Rain using lightning, same as I've been with Nightwolf (who was channeling lighting for one of his MK3 fatalities, before Rain popped up).
But ideally? I'd vote that any and all electric shit should belong to Raiden (not that I'd give him more than he's already got). He was zapping bolts before the other two were even 'born'. That's kind of his thing. :P

Rain looks fucking awesome!!! I'm so glad they kept his Super Roundhouse kick. His water fatality looks sweet and also gives me hope we'll see Kitana's classic kiss fatality someday.

I know my MK history well, so unlike you, I know that Rain never ever had anything similar to Noob Saibot's slam or Sektor's teleport. Seems you should learn your MK history better.
And saying that Rain's borrowing could be justified because other characters borrowed moves from him (though only one character actually did it - Nightwolf) is hilarious and useless way of justification what happened with him now.

How in the world is this confusing? Don't make two or more posts one after the other if nobody has written a reply after your initial post. If you want to add something, and yours is the very last post in the thread, just edit it to include your new quote, new thought, or additional reply.
