I don't see many of those as direct copies. Many character share a few animations here and there, not one character is 100% original. What I meant was a whole move directly copied from another character which none of them really are, but a few looks really close to be quite the same, and those two are the grab and the teleport uppercut. I wouldn't consider the rest to be anything noteworthy, but oh well, if you want to be that picky, then you just do that.

Rain does look like he's gotten much better since his last 2 iterations. I don't really like the entrance pose though.

That first fatality was one that I kind of expected, probably ends up with an explosion.

His moves look pretty cool, glad they stuck closer to his MKT move set instead of relying more on his MKA ones.

The win pose looks neat, I like that his model actually gets wet.

I wouldn't feel bad about spending 5 bucks on him, which, considering that I've never really had much of an interest in the character is the best thing I can say about him.

Rain and Tanya would make a good team

A good team I can agree with. But the constant need to pair up characters just annoys the hell out of me. Just because they are both traitors of Edenia doesn't mean they would make a great couple. On a contrary, I believe they would be the worst couple! They would constantly backstab one another.

I'm guessing there's a bunch of folks who imagine there to be some romance between Rain and Tanya.

And while that may make all the sense in Edenia,
it's never been officially shown.
Not a surprise, since they are very reluctant to include romance in any form-
see Cage/Sonya and Liu/Kitana in MK9

I myself wanted Rain to have been with Kitana in the past,
and Tanya in the "now," giving both Jade and Kitana good reasons to go after him.
But I'm not at all surprised this hasn't come to pass yet.

MK romances seem to exist only in fanfic.

Rain and reptile will be my unstoppable team of epic win-ness! I wanted to buy kenshi, but he is kind of boring, kind of REALLY boring. so is skarlet, who I wish I didn't waste my money on, I though kitana was the most boring and girl in MK until I saw skarlets story.


I reeeeaallly can't wait to roundhouse the living fuck out of people instead of uppercutting them, who needs an uppercut when you can kick someone so god damn hard their body rematerializes behind you so that you can THEN uppercut them, or possibly kick them square in the chin a second time.

And I want Rain and Reiko to have something going on, but that's never going to happen either. I can make sense of several gay coupling in MK, but it is just as likely as that will happen as with the straight couplings.

So please, let us just move on.

No, but really, MK is not about relationships. They're just plot points for a few characters, and that's all they should be. There would be no reason in killing each other if they all were in love.

Rain looks rocking, I love what they did with the mind control orbs, I LOVE that they brought back the SRH. Nice to see Rain retain his signature lightning bolt (sorry Nightwolf). His other moves I'll need to see more of, but the drop move may LOOK like Noobs I think I noticed that Rain doesn't actually fall with them he must teleport above the screen and drop them and teleport back. The water spray move seems a little lackluster but maybe were just not seeing the full effect.

His intro/win poses are freaking SPOT ON, just perfect.

Kinda felt like the Fatalities were a little bland though, mostly cause I never cared for the bloatsplode fatalities before. I'm interested by the jetstream blade thing, I really hope it gets used in kombat.

His X-Ray's really cool, though I hope there's something after that roundhouse feels to short.

Just wish he talked man, rrrgh same with Kenshi, an alt more akin to his Armageddon suit would be cake too but whatevs.

PLEASE give us a Klassik Rain Kostume too, I'm all nostalgic for MKT Rain but my copy of MKT is in Calgary (now in Kelowna)

Love it, every game Rain is in, he's inevitably become my favorite and this looks no different. Can't wait for more vids and images....the 19th can't come soon enough

Hm.. I don't know what to say. I like his specials even if they are similar to other characters specials. But I don't like his combo moves. It reminds me on Scorpions kick combo and other fighter as well.

His fatalities and x-ra looks REALLY good. I also like his win/intro pose a lot.

NRS did a great job, but i think they can do better. Hm.. I'm not so impressed as I was when I see( i don't know the word in past :) ) Kenshis trailer.

But I will buy him without a doubt :)

To be honest, I never saw the original tweet for the whole "Blueberry and Lime" thing, but I always wondered why the first thing people assumed were more costumes. So many characters have old variations of their suits already, what if they decide to add new moves or fatalities instead? We don't need another Reptile or Kitana/Sub-Zero costume.

Skarlet was interesting, Kenshi was damn impressive, Rain is...a little meh.

Pros:
- they manage to make his "orb" interesting;
- he has his roundhouse (I liked this move in the MKT, while it's really strange and silly);
- looks like he will have good Fatalities and X-Ray;
- he has his MKA water stream move (though it looks a bit worse);
- he has awesome winning pose;

Cons:
- his intro is silly. There were many things that they could with his water power to make his intro look kool. This variant is just out of nowhere and confusing.
- his teleport move seemingly taken from Noob and Sektor.
- lightning strikes taken form Nightwolf. That is strange because if they planned both Nightwolf and Rain from the begining they could've anticipated that only one of them should have this move.
- his combos look familliar - his leg combo seemingly was taken from some other character.

As of now Rain looks like 50/50. On one hand he has plenty of original and interesting moves, on the other - he is a partially copypasted from other characters.
Coupled with his "nostalgic / almost generic MK ninja" design, Rain stands as the least impressive DLC characters as of now.

I believe the 360's Season Pass specifically mentions eight costumes, so it stands to reason that Blueberry & Lime have to be costumes.

Of course, that doesn't mean Kitana can't have her Kiss of Death come with her MK2 outfit.

Having watched this a few more times I believe that Rain may be very popular online, he seems to rely on combo's and may be very difficult to counter act. Hopefully people won't find a way of exploiting a certain move.

On an unrelated note, I must say NRS has gotten much better at controlling leaks.

Before the game's release we ended up knowing pretty much everything about it (including the only real secrets the game had: CSZ, Quan Chi, Flesh Pits Mileena, and Babalities).

Then before Skarlet's release, we knew a ton about her (including an alternate costume that didn't end up in the final package) due to an early build being leaked. This also included us knowing about the Cyrax/Sektor MK3 outfits in advance.

But as far as I know, no details were leaked about Kenshi, Rain or MK2 Noob/Smoke before NRS revealed it themselves. And we still don't know who the mystery character is or the remaining klassic costumes even though they'll be released in a few weeks.

Well, unless Fujin is the 4th character, since that voice clip leaked with the above Skarlet leak, but there have been no further leaks since then.

Edit: Well, now that I think about it Kenshi was revealed by that magazine which may or may not have been intended as the official reveal (since they also included Kintaro which was apparently false), and Rain's status as the third DLC character was revealed by a 360 ad, which likely was not intentional. Still, no actual details about the characters leaked aside from their existance and appearance.
