So... the reality of Earth, the Moon, and space don't really matter then? Hmm...

I understand that Liu Kang has fire element and Johnny Cage has his green ball and shadow moves. But they are special moves to the character. I am not dissing the character(s). I am simply looking for the gap that's missing between plausibility, and pure make believe.

I have said I am a victim of looking deep into things like this. I tend to stick to what's real around me in real life for any character based in Earth realm. I look at the facts of the moon and we all know that it's a totally dead place holding some sort of gravity balance on the Earth itself.

So that said, I have to look beyond the character to figure out what is plausible and what isn't.

The character is a cool design. I wish I could create a plausible story for him if I was allowed too!

Plausibility and Mortal Kombat? It's a fictional world of gods, lizard men, 10,000 year old assassins, and human beings who can shoot energy rings from their hands.

Crab men on the moon isn't anymore implausible than a wizard summoning Finch claws from the ground (Deon) or morphing your arms into weapons (Shoulen).


Logically speaking both characters are not plausible, but these are characters made to blend into a fictional world, plausibility is a non-issue.

Ultimate, you really haven't added anything constructive to this tournament.

Mosts post you've made have been about Shoulen. You haven't voted once for anyone, including your own character. You've tried to change the rules so your character has an edge. You've attacked someone for reviewing your character and you can't see beyond your own ego that your character is not perfect. You're attacking other characters for no reason on this thin and subjective platform of plausibility. You've been shoving your character down our throats with multiple posts about new drawings, stories and the MK universe you've created.

I'll be brutally honest, the more I hear about Shoulen, the more I despise him. I realize your proud of your work but you need to get over that fact. Please stop spamming this board about Shoulen. There were 101 characters in this contest and not everyone is going to think that your work is the best.

Plausible don't mean everything has to be 100% real, it just has to make sense. My character is from Outworld, not of Earth realm where they still has to be the very strong sense of realism of reality as we know it. Other worldly beings can get away with a lot more than a character from earth realm, which would involve the moon and outer space too.

The MK story is based on Earth realms survival. With human characters in a reality where the rules of gravity still apply.

The Earth we know it has oxygen, gravity, and other beings that can live on this planet. The moon has no atmosphere, oxygen, or any plant life to sustain life.

These are the ground rules to follow in a plausible/believable story.

I say again. I am not dissing on the character(s). But Shoulen is a different race with the ability to shape mould their arms. You cannot explain an "ability", but you can to an extent explain a "power" a character has.

By simply saying "cockbanger gained his powers from tripping into a mine full of radioactive goo", sound a little far fetched if not lazy. Explaining how it effected him, what he had to go through to control whatever powers he had, make it a little more plausible and believable.

Why shouldn't I talk about my character to get him over?

But I tell you what... I'll remove myself from this competition.

It's not a competition without someone getting competitive, but I guess no one wants that...

I thought that this was a serious competition but it seems joke characters are winning the day.

Joke characters have just as much right to be in this tournament as "plausible" characters. Just because he won round one doesn't mean Crabby will beat shoulen! Shoulen is a good character but you are shoving him down our throats a bit. You aren't suppose to add anything more to him. The edits were over on 6/07. So just play the cards you are dealt and don't forfeit. I'm not sure Crow would allow you to anyway.

^^This. I know I certainly won't be mad if Marek gets eliminated in the first round or later on, I've seen several people giving him some praise for various reasons, the mere knowledge of that alone makes me happy that I entered the Kontest.

I never put her down but I did comment on her character a bit harshly. I said that stuff out of anger obviously and ShesGotClaws should know I already stated I enjoyed her ideas.Also, I gave feedback of what i did not like and than had someone get defensive...clearly I was just stating my feedback and not trying to insult anyone. I can't help the fact I am a blunt person...also take into consideration I am medicated & I do have mood swings lol. Oh and to mention I even stated a flaw in my own design to show how detailed I was reviewing and I could really nitpick my own character apart too. So yeah,I may not be the only one that needs to take things a bit easier.

Your last statement saying "I know everyone wants to win, but it's important everyone respect one another"....I shown my respect and honored fairness in not voting for anyone in our bracket. Even after seeing that the odds were all against me. Truthfully the only person I threw a tantrum about was you Crow...and that is between us but whatever. The way I see it is that everyone else is crying over seeing ultimate advertise his character and show more. If it bothers you than don't read it and than when or if you post feedback for him state that he over-advertised as a flaw. To me this is just being a bit rude...but who am I to talk right.
I wish I shown more of what I left out myself...it would have explained why I used Nightwolf's moves in some manner and her weapon. The thing is...if none of you want to see the extras than whats the point. If I was ultimate I would want to quit too.

For me, it wasn't so much him overadvertising his character, not at all. It was more the stuff about putting down the joke/not so serious characters and the whole plausibility in Mortal Kombat schtick. Honestly, there's nothing plausible at all about Mortal Kombat except Stryker. I mean c'mon, Liu Kang can turn into a dragon, Johnny Cage can uppercut decapitate someone 3, count 'em, THREE, times, Sonya can do those vertical bike kicks, Jax can grow to the size of Godzilla for God only knows what reason. And did I mention the Brutalities and Animalities and Babalities?
Nothing about Mortal Kombat is plausible to me, and it likely never will.

Yeah it gonna be interesting to see how it goes. I can give you a review on Ail later once the votings done if you want. I can see why we were put up against eachother I think, because stories are kind of similar in some ways. Moving between realms and all that.

Guys, chill out. This is supposed to be a fun contest, that at its heart has the best character available (opinion based) win. Not every character I've voted for has won. But I don't think "joke characters" dominate this contest, because the lighthearted (intentional ones, at least) characters in this contest are extremely few in number. Besides which, if a character is well written then they should win against one that isn't. Not going to say who I voted for in that particular match, but it was deadlocked with the Council. I feel both characters are very close to one another regardless of how serious each of them are; I feel the creator put time and effort into his entry, and that is an important factor at the end of the day.

This tournament is a blast honestly and getting to see so much creative and mostly positive energy has been a wonderful treat, this is my first contest and I'm glad I participated, great entries everyone and best of luck to everyone.

Oh yeah I am immature... Not once Have I put down a "CHARACTER". Nor have I said anything like; "That character is crap/shit/terrible". Or anything along those lines.

Trying to put forward my "OPINIONS" on the "SURROUNDINGS" of characters, seems to rub people the wrong way.

Honesty kills I guess... Typical.

My review of Tyron Magnum

Bio: Pretty solid story telling. His connection to Johnny Cage is subtle, but very believable and tying Tyron having a non-speaking role in Ninja Mime was rather clever. I like how he's a military brat, but would rather go off and do his own thing instead of just following tradition.


Fighting Style: Boxing is an unrepresented type of fighting in MK, the originality is a huge boost to your character.

Primary costume: Gets the job done and the product placement adds are an interesting touch.

Alternate: I love the alternate description, it's my fav of the two costumes.




Specials: Don't really care for the nunchuck throw, it just doesn't seem like it should be a projectile to me. I love the dog based special moves, very outside the box and original it reminds me of Jack Slate from Dead To Rights and how he used his dog Shadow to help attack opponents. I also like the Muay Thai grab


X-ray: speaks well to Tyron's abilities and is pretty unique, targeting the tendos was something different and executed well.

Fatalities are pretty straightforward and actually fit your character's specials and attitude, the second is particularly nasty.

Entrance taunt: I love it, Tyron is dripping with personaltiy and attiude, very appealing in that regard and it made me smirk.

mid-match taunt: also made me laugh, I love the attitude, really won me over with that.

Victory pose: I don't know why, but I just don't like the idea of Omen peeing on the opponent, just not feeling it.


Ending: Certainly delighted by the plot twist and how his ending stopped with a cliff hanger, leaving him with something unfinished, you worked your character into the canon nicely, without throwing things off.



Closing comments: You should certainly be proud of your character, unique specials, great personality, nice plot twists for story, fatalities fit character's style well, X-ray stands on its own as unique. Connection to Johnny Cage was clever and a reference to Ninja Mime and Johnny Cage was appreciated.

My complaints were minor and I won't repeat them.

Overall, your character is a well rounded and unique addition to the cast and a very high quality entry.
