The snake jabbing is nice. Good animation, goes a little slow on my computer though. It would be better if you gave him more body language. He just looks like a robot or something. Make him look pissed off at the person he's hitting.

...Punching someone in the face isn't proof enough you're pissed off at them? ^_^

I know what he means, and that's what I'm trying to do with the change. Make it more stylish and intense looking.
There is a difference in when you want to hit something (go through the motions) and when you are trying to kill or destroy it.
The .gif animations run at normal speed if you save them to your computer and play them with Quick time. They are all slow online.

Just in case you didn't know, I was kidding. ^-^
Still, yeah, the moves do need a bit more personality. Though I've never though of outright rage as Tsung's style...Always seemed more like the kind of dude who'd be a smug bastard while fighting.

I don't know, probably around as much as a street fighter 3 character. I don't know how much that is either.
I'll make adjustments if I notice problems with loading times or whatever.

Welp, you be the judge but, imO it didn't come out as well as I thought it would.
Fireball Plus fireworks crackle
Left it in WAV format on case you wanted to still mess around with the thing. But what do you think?

I for once love it. But I would make the initial "whump" louder and the crackle at the end a lot less loud... or cut it completly.
I really like the idea of the scream SFX, that makes the fireball kinda alive.

The crackling is a bit too strong and isolated, I would try and find one with a slower pace, less cracks per second. Maybe tone down the volume a little.
Here's an example, Crackling fireball Maybe making the crackling sounds a bit sharper would be better. I used fading in and out + Volume tweaks.
You can use that as reference. Maybe make other effects, like for the hit or anything.
I got the sound from here with the free MP3 recorder
The sound effect given to sub zero's ice blast here pretty much has the same idea for the timing etc.

Looks pretty nice. But I think if you are going to change it, you should make more smoke and don't make it fade away so quickly.

Yep, I think yours sounds alot better. I'll have to try it again after spending some more time in the program. Maybe I'll post a few things up at once and see what you think...

Gif speed acts like that though...when you make them, you gotta adjust things before its finished. That looks pretty good for a made up explosion from scratch. I make gifs all the time and don't know how he got that from scratch. lol

There are tutorials online on how to get this type of effect.

Special move concept
It could be without the slow motion fall in the aerial hit. Working like the ground ice, so it's fast but can hit the opponent in the air to make them land standing in to a stumble.

More concepts
first concept: I like the idea of them landing on their feet if hit in the air with a fireball but maybe you could have a random 1/5 to 1/7 chance they fall on their back (I think street fighter has this? never paid that much attention). This way the power of the fire skull isn't entirely underplayed.
second concept: The double-jump is a great idea, especially with the materialising energy (lord knows double jumps make little sense as they are now in video games). I'd have to see this in action before deciding if its ok or not cos to be honest i dont think ive ever seen anything like it (it might fit perfectly or it might not).
third concept: At first I misunderstood this concept. I looked at the sketch and skimmed through the words and the idea I got (through my own idiocy) was that he uses his flames to pull his opponent in and throw him over his side while never actually making contact with him (if you're not sure what I mean, look at the direction the fire is going in ur sketch and imagine it reversed; going from out to in). Anyway the concept you've got is fine.

I'm confused. I assume that's Shang Tsung, but why are you making a detailed 3D render of him again? It looks great btw.
Also have you thought about showing your idea off to other MK forums? I only say this cos I doubt you'll get the richest feedback from this site.

The one I've been using for the animations is a very rough low polygon model.
It only looks OK from far a way, so I'm using it for now just to have something to work with while I make a nice high detail model.
When I finish the detailed one, I'll replace the low poly version. Since I'm using 3D animation with the Biped bones in 3ds.max, I can transfer the animation from one model to another pretty easy.
What sites are you talking about?

I thought so, cant wait to see the high-polygon one put in action.
I cant remember what it is now but it's a site TimsMK is using to shop his MK Karnage game. It's mentioned on his thread.
