Bleed?
Is this gonna be another 3D Fighter? Or will everything be as interactive?
If a fighter. Could you do things like picking up weapons of the ground and use them instead of just starting with them? Each weapon would have a different combo system, which I would think would be amazing.
Everything should be interactive. Whereever you fight. Especially in like a mall, bridge, and town. The mall would have many people walking to shop, and the mall of course has the stores.
The bridge would have people walking by and an edge where a future deathtrap could happen. etc/
i.e. Fighting in a mall would have many windows. Just like deathtraps in Deception, you would be able to kick or punch someone out the window and the guy fall to the street which you both begin fighting at. So, this game could be something like a Dead or Alive concept with a Mortal Kombat twist.
What I think I would be cool is an action-adventure game.
One person made one along time ago. Just this one would be a 3D Adventure game. It would be like "Tekken Force".
Your trying to fight your way out of a place within the time limit. After a certain amount of kills your time meter would refill. Life would be found lying on the ground; just pick it up and you life would be replenished. And again, everything would be fully interactive.
These are my ideas =]

Came up with a new variation on the costume. I like the more Asian feel to this one.
edit: New version of the fireball sound.
fireball_2.wav
I'm not making a 3D fighter, this is going to be in 2D like Killer Instinct and the old MK's.
I like the idea for stage interactivity, and I think the stage weapon is doable. Cody from Street Fighter Alpha 3 has that option, and of course the old side scrollers like Streets of Rage.
I wasn't planning on weapons, but this would be a nice feature to add in some form, we'll see.

Nice i think you should go with this design.

It's not super high quality, but close enough. I can clean the clicking sound at the end. I'll maybe try and boost it a little, make it more intense.

fireball_2.wav
This is something others can help with too, but be careful......people might think there's something wrong with you, making weird sounds and stuff.

Nice! Those sound okay, but more importanly, they match the character concept you just put up. I like the detail in it alot.
I have some experience with Pro tools(rap artists mainly, but its inevitable that I've done quite a bit of producing too)...but unfortunately, I don't have the hardware or the program anymore. My brother is our main producer, and has a mobile studio now.
Maybe I'll check the program out then. If you say you can record with the thing, does that mean I can record individual tracks and have them run simultaneously too? Quite a few programs that I've previewed from DownLoad.com don't let you do it.

Audacity is the best one I've found for free.
You can record audio and have multiple tracks. That's how I got all the different sounds in that file.
I'm using a demo of Acid too, because there you have different options to work with.
Basically, I got a bunch of free programs, and I'm using them all like a team. Little bit from this one a little from that one to get the final result.
I don't know much about music or audio editing. Only basic stuff I've figured out on my own.

Hm....I wonder what a fireworks sound bite, masked in there would sound like. You know, like after the thing goes up in the sky and blows up....all the crackling that happens at the end?
You know too, when the fireball hits the opponent, did you think about having a "boom-on-contact"? Like taking your fists and hitting your chest? Maybe that's about where the " crackling fire works" sound could come in....
I'm gonna play with this a little bit. (I have Audacity now, I found it. I'll see about the fireworks thing after I figure out how everything works....)

Yeah, I'll make hit sounds too and like you said. Hit my chest or something... Whatever get's the right sound.
I got the flame thrower sound by blowing in the mic.
Other programs that I find useful are.
MP3 recorder = lets you capture audio from your computer, video, music..... Anything that's making a sound.
Soundplant = Makes your key board in to a sample-triggering device. You set a sound to almost any key / keys and just click it to play it.
------------------
Audacity is still the best one I've found.
You need the MP3 encoder called lame_enc.dll to export MP3 files from Audacity. Get it here Extract the file and save it to your C:/WINDOWS/system directory.

Freeware sound programs
MP3 recorder
A simple beat maker Hammerhead
FlexiMusic Composer = multi track editing, beat maker, sound editing.... It's pretty good. Get it here

That's a great outfit. Fit's Shang quite well.
Just remember not to cram too much into the game. Quality > Quantity

Right on that
I'm going to get the basics working first, then add the extra details little by little.
I'll have a lot of ideas on file though, ready to go when the time comes.

Hahaha, that's hillarious! We had a MpC2000 which allowed us to sample ev-er-y-thing. I mean, we took the device and a mic outside and sampled a car buring out and everything....let alone voice samples, and bug sounds.
It's very exciting to play around with. especially cuz you find youself doing the wierdest shit! lol

Alot like the MpC series and Pro Tools. Except, it's about $2000-^^ brand new.

LOL, that's what I logged in for. Thank you, I'm gonna check it out in a second. I found some free fireworks samples just by googling.
Works just like importing a picture to Photoshop really. But each sound you "Open" with the Url from the net, you have to save first. I saved them to my desktop, but then I fell asleep. haha...

Hey, what kind of mic are you using? This is the one I've got....Kind of a symbol as to how simple and in expensive it is to record things at home...I think it cost about 20$ when I got mine last year.

Where'd you buy that??? Is it any good???
Me and Elnino got a microphone a while back from radioshack cause' we wanted to try to put voices in NM, but the microphone we have sucks. It makes our voices sound weird, and its staticy.

Best Buy dude. Here's a link to Amazon.com
It's not 30$, or even 20$ anymore where I live(NE)...but yea.
Realize it's not going to be super good quality. But if you can record in a somewhat sound proof environment, there's a good outcome. Check out the features on it.
I love Logitech stuff anyway though. Got a game controller, mouse, Pc keboard, and my mic. All good stuff.

My mic. looks something like yours. It's just a basic one that cost around $20.00 at Best Buy.
You can set up your microphone to filter out noise. If the room is quiet, the sound is pretty clean.
Not perfect like with pro. tools, that use a pop filter = That disc you see in front of a mic. in recording studios.
My brother in law has one of those, he's in to making music.

I'd rather use custom sounds, the talking I can do my self so they all match. I think using the samples from RE would be too recognizable anyways.
Samples from existing media could be used as reference.
I want to stay away from any straight up copy and paste.

Ok.
And how about making MKA style fatality BUT - each character has its own parts (like Scorpion using harpoon, Shang using fire or soul steal etc)

I don't know how to do that yet, what I'm focusing on now is getting the fighting to work right. Stages, fatalities....stuff like that are not important at this time.
You can post ideas if you want, but I'm not going to be doing that stuff any time soon.
To me the most important part of a fighting game is the combat, so I want to nail that first and fore most.

Gotta find some more sample....some of the ones I've found on the net, you have to buy the full version(which I don't need, and means that it has some kind of annoying security sound embedded), or they just don't have the sound in the bite I was looking for...
1. Good sounds for free. But I think you gotta get an account with them. Play button is right above the picture. ">"
A Really good Mp3 with the security thing in it (the beep) From Here. I think you gotta buy that one in order to get rid of the beep....
Still playing around...be back.
And oh, you can "Import" Mp3s right into the session you are working on...same as images from the net with PhotoShop.

I'm changing the animation a bit, to make it more stylish.
I'll post an update later tonight.
