Noob's not relevant, and even if I wouldn't be too fond with Sub-Zero being a triple grand finalist, I've gotta vote for SZ.
Yep. I like Noob but he hasnt been in a game for years and his history is spotty. Sub-Zero almost always delivers something. That MKII reveal is legendary! He is pretty awesome in Injustice 2 right now, too.

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - SEMI FINAL:
Kenshi versus Kitana
#7 Supreme Ranking #8
17 wins 5 losses Record 18 wins 5 losses
Runner-Up (2015) Best Result Semis (2017)
Kenshi was an instant classic when he joined the series in Deadly Alliance. A once arrogant master swordsman, he wandered the land proving himself in prideful combat. He was tricked into opening a tomb of his ancient royal ancestor's souls, blinded in the process. Thus, Kenshi learned valuable lessons in humility and altruism. Trained in the telekinetic arts by Ermac, he used his newfound skills as a member of the Special Forces. In MK Deception, this brought him into conflict with the Red Dragon clan and those loyal to the resurrected Dragon King. In the rebooted timeline, he appeared ahead of schedule as a DLC fighter in MK2011. In MKX, he was a father fighting to keep the forces of the Netherrealm at bay, harboring desires to bring the Red Dragon to justice for killing Takeda's mother. He is an ally to the Special Forces, the Shirai Ryu, and Scorpion - his father's master. He walks with honor in commune with the souls of his ancestors toward a future untold.
Kitana became a pivotal figure in the struggle between realms when she debuted in MKII. Once loyal to her adopted father Shao Kahn, she learned the truth of her royal Edenian lineage and the deaths of her parents. When her mother was resurrected in a grand plot to invade, she joined the fight on the side of Earthrealm in UMK3! Edenia was freed, but in MKGold, Shinnok escaped exile in the Netherrealm by marching through the paradise plane. Kitana again united with the heroes of Earthrealm to thwart the fallen Elder God and his evil plans. When Liu Kang was murdered by the Deadly Alliance, Kitana joined the frontlines to avenge the fallen Champion and prevent their wicked plot. She was killed and enslaved by Onaga, but liberated in time to face the threat of Armageddon in her home realm! The timeline was rewritten to avert disaster, costing Kitana her life much earlier, during the invasion of Earthrealm! In MKX she remains a revenant in the employ of Quan Chi and Shinnok! With the deceased Liu Kang at her side, she gazes into a future where the throne of Hell remains unoccupied!
Debuting in two of the most important sequels in twenty-five years of Mortal Kombat, thay are icons of the expansion of the series and its epic saga! Its the Semi Finals and the 25th Anniversary of Mortal Kombat! Who reigns supreme? Choose their destiny! FIGHT!
My favourite character overall in the series.
MKX was not really the best game for either of them, but Kitana has brought much more to the series overall IMO and is more iconic.
Crossing my fingers for an upset from whomever wins this round. They're both very deserving (voted for Kenshi)!

TOURNAMENT BATTLE - 2017 CHAMPIONSHIP:
Sub-Zero versus Kenshi
#1 Supreme Ranking #7
26 wins 4 losses Record 18 wins 5 losses
Champion (2012) Best Result Runner-Up (2015)
Twenty-five years of Mortal Kombat has seen the transformation of mortals into champions, champions into legends, legends into gods! Only the greatest of kombatants will resist the constantly shifting sands of time and reality, maintaining their position amongst the icons. Every fight is another challenge to succeed or fail. After a quarter century - two warriors have endured to above all others. They have been deemed worthy - but who reigns supreme?
Sub-Zero: A surprise reveal in MKII, the cryomancer Kuai Liang has endured as one of the series' greatest mascots. He above all others lays claim to the Sub-Zero mantle inherited from his older brother. Grandmaster to a new Lin Kuei, he has faced considerable trials from his own clan, friends, and blood. A warrior dogged by his past, yet ever sculpting his own future in new and intriguing ways. Currently appearing as a guest fighter in Injustice 2, his status is undeniable and he's been here before -- but will he be chosen to be MK's champion? Starting in the "MK Invasion" bracket, his cold path to the final saw the elimination of: Kabal (R1), Sektor (R2), Mileena (R3), Shao Kahn (QF) & last year's champion Noob Saibot (SF).
Kenshi: Once a relative newcomer in Deadly Alliance, Kenshi has risen to become an icon equal of the klassics. As a blind sword saint, he is unique within the series, even as he finds camaraderie with the soldiers of the Special Forces. His mastery of the mind and commune with his ancestor's souls make him a powerful hero. Most recently he has become father to a new generation, carrying with him the quest to find justice for the murder of his son's mother. He does this having also fought to drive out invaders from the Netherrealm. Last appearing in Mortal Kombat X, he has earned his place and he's been here before -- but will he be chosen to be MK's champion? Starting in the "MK Armageddon" bracket he cut a path to the final that eliminated: Nitara (R1), Ashrah (R2), Reiko (R3), Ermac (QF) & first time Semi Finalist Kitana (SF).
From the palace gates of Shang Tsung's island, to the scorched inferno of the Netherrealm -- this is the final of the 2017 Supreme Mortal Kombat Champion tournament! It is a clash of former allies and icons of two eras. A final fight celebrating the legacy of the 25th Anniversary of Mortal Kombat! We ask the eternal question - who reigns supreme? Choose their destiny! FIGHT!
The all round better character of the two for me, and pretty much the biggest icon of the series. A solid charactsr in all aspects id say. Worthy to be a double chsmpion
I dont really get the Kenshi love, personally, but each to their own The blind swordsman gimmick was kinda cool the first game but then didnt interest so much after. For me theres not much to him as a character especially after MKDA and particularly in the new timeline he's just sort of there. Not a fan of his kid either.
So, after an epic bloody fight between both fighters, Kenshi could win.
Will we be able to see the character rankings after the winner is annoynced? Would be very interesting to see.
And his appearance in Injustice 2 is probably his best aesthetically since Deception.
This will be close though!
I vote for my favorite character. But I'll be happy with either result.
Sub-Zero won on the 20th anniversary and I actually really like the idea of him winning this year too. Who is better than Sub-Zero? Hes in Injustice right now and everybody knows him. He is so much bigger than MK. If you had to pick a character to represent MK he is easily one of the best. If we were ever going to have somebody win twice I think this is a great way to do it.
I thought the final was going to be Noob vs Ermac once we got everybody. (Thats what an actual prediction looks like to all these numbnuts crying about "predictable" outcomes). When you look at the list of who Sub-Zero beat this year its really an amazing list. Everybody crying about it being "obvious" are just making the argument for SubZero to win. Go learn a sport you dorks.
Kenshi is great though and I will be interested to see what happens next year. I forgot how bad he used to do! I hope hes back in MK11 and has more to do but is still the same awesome blind sword badass!

For the anniversary, we added a few extra elements to this year's tournament.
The bracket was broken up into four groups representing different eras and time periods in the series. We brought the wildcard back, using an elimination Tower to involve some of the characters who couldn't make the 64 fighter cut-off. These results are noted, but not included in rankings data.
Only 12 out of 76 characters are still ranked where they were before the 2017 tournament!
The biggest improver was Sheeva, who rocketed +18 ranks after a surprising run into the penultimate fight of the "Invasion" bracket. Hotaru was close behind with +14 ranks. Wildcard Tower winner Reiko proved it was more than just a fluke, improving +10 without including his wildcard wins! Havik and Drahmin also notably improved by +8 and +7. All of these characters barring Hotaru notably featured in Mortal Kombat X comics.
The biggest declines were more minor than previous years. Cassie Cage had the biggest fall, dropping down -8 ranks. The shine was also off Ferra/Torr, dropping -7 after their fourth stint in the Supreme tournament, as well. Chameleon and Bo' Rai Cho also levelled down by -6, facing stiff opposition as backstory characters in the "Origins" bracket.
Thirteen characters achieved new best results in 2017: Sub-Zero, Kenshi, Kitana, Shinnok, Shao Kahn, Kotal Kahn, Reiko, Havik, Sheeva, Ashrah, Hotaru, Dairou & Darrius. Darrius is up +2 ranks after this year's results, lifting him off the bottom of the table!
As always, there was a lot of movement within the Top 16. After this year's tournament, 11 of the top characters are not ranked where they were before. This comes with 1 exit from this year's Top 16.
Every year the tournament has a specific flavour. This year, the 25th Anniversary meant we were taking an overview of the entire series - from MK to Injustice 2. At this early stage, we expect next year to bring us back to speculate about what's coming up for MK.
We already have plans to embrace relegation to create a bracket that may cause a bit of a stir in 2018! Almost every character will be in danger of missing out! If new information comes to the fore -- we will likely incorporate it into the format, just as we did during the controversial votes coinciding with E3 2014!
As always, MK Online thanks everyone who contributed to the many thousands of votes we collated over the last few months! This year's tournament proved to be one of the best. We're more specifically grateful to everyone who made their voice heard on the forums! There were far too few of you this year! The annual tournament is here for every fan to go on the record, to send a message to the developers, and help us track the changing phases and tastes of characters and games! We all get more out of it when everybody has their say, and hope you'll all be back next year to speculate with us!
If you'd like to see Tag Team mode return to Mortal Kombat, or just have more to say about the characters, be sure to join us over the next month as we bring back the Supreme Tag Team Tournament! It's a brand new line-up inspired by the teams of Mortal Kombat X who'll fight it out in a completely random bracket!
You can also take a closer look at the 2016 Supreme Rankings by following the link. You'll also be able to click the finalists names, linking to profiles for their previous tournament results. We'll aim to update with more profiles to highlight past performances by different characters.
We may retain the traditional Top 16 format next year, so the 2017 rankings update will not be made available yet. We may provide an early update for Flawless Member users. Rankings will be one of the many changes to be watching for next year!
Those who think they know what predictable means -- be encouraged to post your predictions here and now. It will be interesting to see how close you get, next year! Remember: There's a lot more to the tournament than just the final!
