Take a guess who I'm voting for.
It's a travesty that a character like Kenshi massively outweighs a legendary stalwart like Kano in terms of fandom.
They're both klassics in their own right if you ask me.
Lol Right there with ya.
I like Kano, I really do, but they always fail to do literally anything interesting with him. He's always just there to give the SF something to do and even that never lasts too long. Given he's one of the originals, it'd be nice if they gave him a bigger plot point now and then but he always just kinda gets swept under the rug in that department.
Yeah Kenshi has definitely become a mainstay of the series and he's one of the better characters to come out of the 3D era but to be fair he's become exactly what you're accusing Kano of being. Except he works with SF instead of against them.
Oh and they gave him a son. Who sucks.
Also how did ppl vote Kai over Noob?
Because this fan base is obsessed with crappy, forgettable throw-away characters that have had zero impact on the series over characters that have well developed back stories.
Kai deserves better. If anyone is a throwaway character, that would be Mokap.

Round 2! Fujin is a god of wind and powerful ally to the warriors of Earthrealm. Standing eternal vigil with the thundergod Raiden, he fights valiantly to defend humanity from the invading forces of the Netherrealm and fallen Elder God Shinnok! Bo' Rai Cho is another ancient being who sees good in the people of Earthrealm. Born in Outworld, he is unable to defend his adopted home in the Mortal Kombat tournament, but his years of mastery ensure each generation will be well educated in the fighting arts! They are two heroes fighting for the light, but who is best suited to continue? Choose their destiny!.... FIGHT!
The new "Most Requested Character Ever Since Tremor" vs "The Character No One Requested But Now Everyone Loves".
I'm going with Bo Rai Cho. As much as I think it was absolutely stupid beyond measure that Fujin was NOT in MKX, considering it was a retread of MK4, and the fact that he shows up a few times in story mode, I still appreciate the nod to the classic goofiness of chinese martial arts cinema that Bo Rai Cho is - he's fat, he's wise but a smartass, and he can school most fighters without breaking a sweat. They toned down the stupidity of the farting and whatnot a bit, and thankfully he doesn't have a fartality. I was worried when Bo Rai Cho was announced for KP2 that he'd be ridiculously over-the-top goofy and completely kill the dark tone of MKX. I was pleasantly surprised.
Fujin just seems to be that obscure character that can never win - fans demand him, Boon laughs and says "Look at these idiots. First they want that fucking Tremor now they want the stupid ass tornado god or whatever he was. Give 'em Leatherface. It'll be funny."
... here's your Subzero, now plain zero.
Interesting.

MK is built around goofy cliches, that is precisely why we love it. It is a shame some people do not get that.
Admittedly, I am a Raiden fan first and foremost, so I automatically want the focus to be on Raiden; right now he is the only playable God in MKX, as opposed to the fallen Elder God: Shinnok.
Fujin can have the limelight in MK: XI because I can see his potential. He could spin enemies in the air until they vomit, crush their lungs and deprive them of oxygen. I always thought that if it was confirmed in-game that Raiden and Fujin were related then he would be slightly more relevant.
Fujin isn't even a playable character.
Shao Kahn did nothing wrong
STATE FED LIES CHARM EMPTY EYES. Anon.
Takeda did way more than Kenshi in terms of story. Oh, and he kicks ass, actually.
I love Fujin, but since he has yet to be fully realized, I've gotta put him on the back burner for this one.
Bo in MKX is pretty much everything I wanted him to be. The ONLY thing I would have done differently is trade either Bartitsu or Dragon Breath for a Drunken Parry variation. Not taking anything away from those variations because they're hella fun, but I was just really hoping he'd have a variation dedicated to parrying. Could have also worked that into Drunken Master, but that variation is stressful and complicated enough as it is lol.
Even though he has some huge drawbacks from a competitive standpoint, he's still fun as hell to play and I haven't stopped playing him since KP2 dropped. Even put Reptile on the back burner to fully focus on Bo. And I enjoy his comedy relief. Always have, and I was ecstatic to see that they didn't rob him of that part of his character.
Voted Bo' Rai, of course. Hell, even in a tiny role he accomplished more in the comic than Fujin, for fuck's sake.
Fuck Fujin, if he was playable no one would care about him.
Nailed it. If he was in MKX, he wouldn't even have made it past the first round in this contest. No one..NO ONE would care about him anymore.
Granted I would've liked to have seen him in the roster (there are so many characters that should have taken the spots that Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Kitana and Goro occupied), but he's just another character who had one major game appearance, an "all-inclusive because this is Mortal Kombat Trilogy 2" appearance in Armageddon, and a minor appearance in MKX and MKMSZ. He's basically irrelevant. They wanted to do something with him, but lost interest.
Its funny to see people get mad at other people because they vote for their favorite characters
This.

Can you blame them, really?

Round 2! Jax is the long metal arm of the law! Slain during the invasion of Earthrealm, he served as a revenant soldier before receiving a second chance at a life with his daughter. Equipped with cutting edge Special Forces cybernetic enhancements he crushes crime! Erron Black is the fastest trigger in Earthrealm. His gun always for hire, he served Kotal Kahn during a civil war for the throne in Outworld. Mystically enhanced to remain ageless, its not a matter of if he has a bullet for his target - but when. Can Jax dodge a shot aimed at him, or will Erron Black end the resurrected hero? Choose their destiny... FIGHT!
Flipped a coin, heads, Jax.
Hey, I could make a gun pun out of that...
I could see a joke about guns and you arbitrarily picking a black man. Lol USA.
JAX! WITHOUT THE METAL ARMS!
Voted Jax. He made purple spandex look cool
