Erron has a cool design and is a great addition to the cast but he needs some more fleshing out before I can consider his potential worth to the franchise.
They wanted to do something with him, but lost interest.
Can you blame them, really?
In all honesty, I kinda prefer it at this point. Gives him a certain mystique. Better than bringing him back repeatedly with absolutely nothing relevant to do plot wise like your Reptiles, Barakas, ect. (No offense to those fans) so that when they do eventually use him, if at all, it'd be more of a celebratory thing over an "Oh, it's this again." type deal.
I liked Erron but his involvement in the story was a typical henchman. Nothing at all impressive. His backstory of being granted immortality by Shang Tsung was interesting and I want to see more about it in future games.
But Jax is just too bad ass.

I agree - I also think a lot of the Tobias characters got sidelined when he left Midway after MK4. Fujin, Kai and Reiko are all examples. Reiko being the worst, because they had NO idea what they wanted to do with him in MK4 (home version "we made our own ending because we're Eurocom" Reiko ending doesn't count). It's why I think, ultimately, Boon includes them to a lesser extent, but has no real desire to do anything with them.

Jax was awesome in MK2 and rather compelling in MKX, but he had a whole lot of downtime in between when he was one of the least interesting characters.
Erron meanwhile still has an aura to him; an air of mystery and cool factor.
MKX gave us the best incarnation of Jax in over two decades (God, those AMAZING intros) but Erron gets my vote by a hair.
Those amazing intros are made 10x better with Carl Weathers.
Anything is 10x better with Carl Weathers, period.

I've never heard anything more true in my life.

Round 2! An epic grudge match! Johnny Cage has the superstar aura of a vintage martial arts moviestar descended from warriors bred for the gods! A survivor of Outworld's invasion of Earthrealm, he leads the fight against the forces of Netherrealm as champion of the light! D'Vorah is an infesting force secretly working for the necromancer Quan Chi! The insidious insect queen commands an army of creepy crawlies. Can they get under Johnny Cage's skin, or is D'Vorah destined to be terminated?... FIGHT!
Johnny Cage is too cartoonish and too favoured by the writers in every line of dialogue. They try so hard to make him a smart ass that it's just cringy.
And he married Sonya.....of all the women, he chose the most abnoxious one...God, Johnny...your wife and daughter are so annoying, the Blady bunch ;)
D'vorah is new, is fresh, is a back stabbing political traitor who still does love her Emperor despite her species' (the kytinn's) egotistical nature
Lol Fujin fanboys labeling Cage "overrated".
This Fujin fanboy is going with Cage.
D'Vorah is a good character, move wise and in design, but Cage is a classic and have never had an issue with any of his inclusions.
Johnny Cage...okay design, good moves. Like that he's in a major protagonist spot.
Hmmmmm....(produces coin)
Heads, ugly bug broad. Tails, sneering douchebag.
...it's heads. D'Vorah.

Round 2! The konclusion! Nightwolf was once a powerful shaman warrior in communion with the spirits of his ancestors. An act of self-sacrifice saved Earthrealm from invasion, but doomed Nightwolf to serve Quan Chi as a corrupt revenant of his former self. Raiden is the sworn protector of Earthrealm - a thunder god guiding the world's champions with a lightning lit path. His efforts to defeat fallen Elder God Shinnok have left his soul darkened. Will he save Nightwolf, - or destroy him? Choose their destiny!... FIGHT!
STATE FED LIES CHARM EMPTY EYES. Anon.
nightwolf sucks
Do you just hate on everyone?
Nightwolf has never been a dick, or screwed up, even when he was a sin-eater. Yes, his own action led to he and Sindel becoming part of the Netherrealm army, but he couldn't know that. Raiden, on the other hand, has flip-flopped his alignment more times than Kabal, sent his past self a ridiculously ambiguous message, and failed to do his job properly (save Kung Lao, save Sub-Zero, protect Shinnok's amulet).
