fucking gay.. fighting DC?! c'mon only batman is the only alright guy from DC... Mk should have their own story going on, but no they gotta mess everything up and mix with comics. sure other games have doen this but i think its just retarded. if they just wouldve kept main guys from the first one along with other cool guys from later games (aka noob, mileena, quan chi, tanya?) and other new charachter it wouldve been much better.. i hope this game does just as well as superman for the n64.

As an MK fan I suppose one should be able to take surprises like this one on the chin but this is just something else... The render is amazing but if they try and pass this off as MK8 then I'm sorry but it doesn't work. When they announced MK8, that was what I expected. Mortal Kombat 8 with Mortal Kombat characters. When you cross MK with another game it stops being Mortal Kombat and as far as I'm concerned this is no sequel regardless of what they say and do with it. I hope MK8 is being hidden and this is just a side game. For them to even try and pass this off as MK8 would be ridiculous. As Havik would probably say, I am most unimpressed.

These are just thoughts flowing through my brain at the moment:

Thought #1. How could they? People who care about the story will want things cleared up after Armageddon. More plot holes in the story than swiss cheese, yet in the midst of it all, Boon & Co. decide to thicken their middle fingers and aim directly at the fans. Totally Unexpected Indeed.

#2. This had to be a business decision. Midway has been losing millions. Once again they went with the quantity over quality by ignoring the die hards who want a true sequel and their aiming for a more universal fanbase to get the dough rolling again.

#3 The picture definitely looks next gen and the reality of it being on the PS3 & XBOX 360 scares the shit out of me.

#4 Darker, grittier? If I cant rip the head off of Batman or tear the bra of Wonder Woman................ ( No way would DC subject their characters to this, but some of their comics are very gritty).

#5 If this THE next gen game confirmed then I suggest that Mr. Boon prepare for the following: Non-stop interviews, hate mail, death threats, boycotts, taunts from the people at EGM, etc.

Just thought Id clear my mind of the idle randomness and cease jumping to conclusions. I wont lie though. I'll probably end up playing this game with my nephews.

BUT in all seriousness I think this game is gonna either make or break the MK franchise for good.

I'm not feelin the concept too much right now but I'm still willing to give it a chance. It all depends on how the gameplay works out. The only thing I'm truly disappointed in is that we probably won't get a fully fledged MK story till either the next game or ever.

By the way any confirmation on what the game is rated as? If its M I'm hoping that's cause we'll be getting fatalities, gore, etc

Okay, great. Go make a DC comics fighting game! Why mesh these characters with MK characters when there's no reason to try and shoehorn to completely different properties into one game.

As I said before, Capcom beat this idea to death years ago.

I'd be perfectly fine with having one or two DC characters as bonus ultra hidden characters in MK8. Just a sort of "for fun" thing like Soul Calibur has done with SC2 and now SC4.

But to try and tie together a BUNCH of DC characters into a story that ALSO ties into MK characters? It makes no sense. It's going have a god awful story. Ther's just no way around it.

I mean, honestly, why do this? MK always makes bank, and a good portion of that money (I'd wager) comes from fans that have bought at least one game in the series already. A sizeable portion of those people become fans of the series.

What moron at MIdway thought that fans of the MK series would want to see their franchise invaded by a cast of comic book characters? Whoever said it before was right. When Ed Boon decided to end the previous MK storyline and start this garbage, well, Mortal Kombat as we know it is really dead after all.

No, it's a slap in this site's face and Midway's as well to even think that. This site doesn't report on rumors. Gamer's Day was today in Las Vegas, Midway presented the game and they released this image to us. There will obviously be more content coming in the very near future... so, I know this is not a hoax and it grates on me to have know-nothings come in and say otherwise. I'm feeling nice, so I won't ban you for that... feel free to not come back if that's the way you feel, though.

Ive never had a problem with guest characters in fighting games or crossovers, so I say bring it on. I honestly cant imagine seeing a game like this and then suddenly giving up on everything. That sounds a lot like overreacting.

Ive only been a fan since early 06 when I decided to pop in Deadly Alliance and got SO hooked on the series that I collected every other main game and Shaolin Monks (Didnt have the material to hunt down Mythologies or Special Forces at the time) before Armageddon came out.

Now I know its an incredibly INCREDIBLY slim chance but Id love to see Mokap squeeze himself in this.
