How the hell does this work as being "darker". I can understand how Batman originally started out as a dark figure in the comics... He could be "MK'd" up and work for an MK game (although it still doesn't make sense)...

But how does Superman work? Is he going to be dark and gritty in his blue spandex and red trunks? It works for him in his world, but not in MK. How do you darken him up enough?

Same thing with Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman... and whoever else.

How does that work? Maybe they have something very original in mind... but I don't see those characters working in that respect.

Honestly, I would give this game a chance.....if this way TEN YEARS AGO!

Boon and his team have fucked up ROYALLY the last few years with this franchise and I honestly thought with the next-gen technology and limitless possibilities, that there was NO WAY they could fuck this chance up.

Well, I'm the first to admit it: I was wrong. Where is the MK we knew and loved? It's dead. Please welcome in the new fighting game joke of the decade: Mortal Kombat. Was once a force to be reckoned with, now a laughing stock full of sellouts who can't even reboot a franchise right.

Seriously, James Bond did it and look how that went!! It was huge!! Batman did it, and look how fuckin awesome The Dark Knight looks. WHY OH WHY is Boon too much of an idiot not to cash in on this and make the MK of our dreams!!

I HATE the idea of this game and I am not buying this no matter what. Why? Because I AM a fan, a diehard fan, and I'm going to prove to Boon that if they want my money and the money of others, we are not going to throw it to them everytime they release something with the dragon logo and the Mortal Kombat title written on it.

I'm not saying it be what every fanboy wants because look how Armageddon turned out. All I am asking for is a true MK game on next-gen that follows continuity and re-establishes MK as a fighting game that will stand the test of time. Like Halo or Gears of War. FUCK, LOOK AT GTA!! Possibly the greatest game of 08, GTA4 will push all boundaries and make the past games look like my last shit. Why cannot MK do the same? Why must they fuck up EVERYTHING lately.

A cross-over MK was a little more than a hunch, the info has pretty much been out since September of last year on TRMK who said they had confirmed this with their sources, it was based on some amount of evidence.

Another thing, there is no personal relationship between any of us and Boon. To be honest, he probably won't care that some of you guys left.

Scorpio, for example, bought tons of MK Shit, and put money in Boons pocket. There is just going to be some new little kid that is gonna take your spot in buying all of that shit. I guessing for everyone of you that leaves, and most of you are probably grown now, there will be a some young kid to take your spot as a fan and build up the franchise.

Who knows, maybe in 10 more years, the same thing will happen to the little kid. Boon is just doing business baby.

Some of us taking this out of hand? We've been waiting paitently for a new Mortal Kombat game to expand off the events of MKA and this is what we get.

-We watched them flush the movie series down the drain.

-We buy their fucking rereleases that they milk: MKD on Gamecube with Shao Khan/Goro, MKA on Wii with Khemeleon, hand held versions, so on...

-Some of us have purchased video game systems just for this fucking franchise.

Yeah so, some of us fans are a little pissed that Midway couldn't even give us the chance to even hear us out before making some mistake like this. How about a vote or something Boon? We put your fucking franchise on the throne where it is today!

MUGEN is actually pretty lame. All the MK characters suck in MUGEN, I have to use the Sub-Zero and scorpion that resemble SF characters.

Wow, I've been a fan of MK1 since it came out in the arcades. MK has been my favorite series for well over a decade.

There's still a large part of me that doesn't want to believe this news.

Some people on this site are wondering why everyone is whining and complaining. It's because NO ONE on this site wanted a cross over game. People talked about the new graphics, the possibilities of a better fighting engine, cool new characters, what the new story might be like etc.

What we ended up with is Aquaman. F#$*ing AQUAMAN.

Why are people angry? Because it runs counter to what Ed Boon said a while back. It's a rehash of an old idea that Capcom beat to death years ago. It's a sell out move by Midway to try and grab even more cash from their cash cow.

No Mortal Kombat fan wants to see this game come to fruition OVER a legit new MK game. Really, would you RATHER see MK vs DC or MK8? Can you now see why everyone is disappointed after waiting 2 years for what turns out to be...well, THIS?

I'll still wait until tomorrow, but if the rest of the info we get tomorrow is the real deal (and I'm guessing it is), than I'll be apologizing to Cyberdog, JRF etc and then I'm washing my hands of this series. .
