One thing I'm really happy about with Sub Zero this game is he doesn't have the frozen hands anymore, at first I kind of liked that idea but over time it started just looking kind of silly to me so I'm glad they went back to a more human look for him.

I agree with you, the icy arms were a bit tacky in my opinion. I get it, it's supposed to show how powerful he's become in the later games, but save that for Iceman...

I think I'd have to say Jax is my fav redesign...even tho it is more of throwback to mk3...it is good to see him topless again...

Mainly the reasin I say this is his look just did not feel right in MKvsDC...not cuz he had clothes on, it just felt out of character for him...

Mileena's redesign is quite good as well. The design team seems proud of her from what I gather. But in all truth...some of the female upgrades are cool and I'm sure men will find them sex but they are just a bit...well...far too revealing.

I will say this also...I like Kung Lao's outfit in this...I never cared for his mk3 look and definitely not the later ones where his hat was not on his head...

but ultimately....I'm really really digging the classic Jade costume...epic win. Can't wait to see the classic outfits in actual gameplay footage.

but overrall so far what I've seen nothing has really bothered me outfit wise. everything looks pretty!

The crimson hair is to die for beautiful, I love that Kira looks so fierce.
Design wise she was one of the best females of the 3d era introduced. I was actually hoping that they play up some type of rivalry between Kira and Sonya for some reason. As long as they change up her moveset, I would love to see her return.

I'm actually hoping we get something similar to Sindel's alternate costume as an alternate in this game. I thought the burgundy, silver, black combo was perfect, her hair and that crown really gave her that feel of a gothic Queen, an amazing look for sure.

I also like that Kira is this cold-hearted assassin/terrorist who has become Kabal's right hand (wo)man in the new Black Dragon after having killed that boring and moronic character to Kobra. I'm so glad he was stabbed to death by Kira in her ending. :P
She has a good storyline, cool personality and great looks... the only thing that makes her really lacking is her gameplay which is the definite factor in a fighting game.

Kobra killed her storyline for me. I did enjoy her ending when she killed him, I don't like any of his endings though, he's just a waste of space. If Kira does come back, I hope Kobra is nowhere to be found...

Agreed. Though, I admit, I do like Kobra a little. I like how he's just a straight up sociopath who's addicted to killing. If he does come back he needs to stand on his own two feet instead of piggy backing on other characters. Other than that, I have no idea what they can do with him. I guess we won't be seeing him until the next trilogy type game.

Kira would've been so much better without Kobra.

Can't get mad at the MK team though for trying to give us someone with the Ken/Ryu gameplay.

The thing about Kobra is he didn't even play as Ryu or Ken from Street Fighter. Sure, he had a fireball, but so does SO many other characters in several fighting games. None of his other moves even resembles something Ryu or Ken can do, or anyone else of the shoto-clones for that matter. If they had made Kobra appear alot more like a shoto-clone as a tribute to them, then he would have been alot more awesome in my opinion. But instead we got another half-assed design.

If Kobra returns, I hope he will either be a proper tribute or get a whole new character design.

I'm not sure Kobra was ever really intended to have anything to do with Ken and Ryu.

He was mainly based on Johnny from The Karate Kid. They couldn't think of a name for him for a while and called him "Ben" because his shaggy blonde hair and karate gi outfit does make him look a bit like Ken coincidentally...but saying he was meant to BE Ken is like saying Sektor and Cyrax are meant to be a tribute to hot dog condiments just because their beta names were Ketchup and Mustard.

...He WOULD be a more fun to play as if his move list was Hadoken, Shoryuken, Hurricane Kick, though. The plain orange fireball and sliding punches are just boring.

I'm straight, but my favorite character is and always will be Reptile. I think that acid spit is just B.A. My favorite female... let's see... I would probably throwdown with Sindel. She is the first person I beat MK3 with.

I know, it wasn't directly intentional, but his overall looks and the fact he used karate really makes him look like a Ken-clone. If they are going to make him a Ken-clone, they should do it right! And I too think it would be kinda cool to see him actually be that.

Next up, a Cammy-clone in MK who plays just like her! C'mon NRS, you can do it!!!

I do like the Force Ball better than the Acid Spit, due to what it actually does when hitting the opponent. The Acid Spit is just yet another projectile move, albeit a very fitting one for Reptile.

Which version of it do you like the best? I actually liked the MK4 version the best, almost showering the opponent with acid instead of it just being a straight line of green saliva. XD

Seems like having another blonde in military gear would seriously horn in on Sonya's turf.

MK4 Tanya had had a canon drill-like move. Maybe we can work from there lol.

My favorite is totally the UMK3/Trilogy version of him. All the ninjas looked really smooth in the game, but that was just when him moveset really turned into that of an amazing character.
