ah my bad ;) in that case, Sonya just because they changed her movesets so much over the years to the point where she wasnt the same character anymore. Also and this is just my opinoion, the team seem more concerned with the hot blonde look and over sexulizing her these days
for me Sonya is more about a tough woman who gets the job done, who probably got to the top through sheer determination and hard work in a very macho male world.
This image of a perfect make-up, high heels and skimpy clothes undermines all that. To me Sonya strikes me as the pratical type
As for the male, it has to be Scorpion simply because his so forced down our throats (same reason I hate Wolverine amoung other things) I'm just sick of him, plus he makes little or no impact on the actual story.

Well, Eagle is a strong yet quick fighter, using his batons for extra damage. Poison Kiss has only been playable in one fighting game, a game I haven't played yet. It was quite unsuccessful and I haven't seen it anywhere.

A fun fact: In Japan, Poison Kiss was confirmed transexual, but because Americans couldn't accept that, they turned him into a fully fledged woman in their description of "her". XD

I knew a handful of transsexual people in college *art school ;)*, and I don't think any of them played MK, or any games for that matter. I'll have to ask them when I see them next lol

I always kinda pictured Sub-Zero and Scorpion as lovers because they are always wanting to kill each other. Would be quite cool to actually see them in love with each other ^^ But I doubt we ever will :l

Huh. You know characters should have us know who's straight and who's not. I mean, it's more depth for characters to be lifelike. I mean, these MK characters are real to us in a way... We should somewhat have more depth about it.

Well, seeing as many of the characters in MK are from alternate realms than Earth, I can understand why the MK team didn't feel like making age-definations and such for each character, especially the monstrous ones. Edenians can turn 10.000 years old and still look like they are in mid-20's... in a fantasy game like this, it's understandable they haven't gone in depth with such things, because it is simply not important.

However, should MK turn into an MMORPG or an RPG of any sort where we explore the worlds and races even more, then I definately think they should clear some of that stuff up.



Bridget from Guilty Gear is dressed and raised as a girl because he has a twin brother, and in the village he comes from, they have the superstition that the family will become cursed if twin boys are born into the family. But in the games, Bridget wants to show that he is indeed not a curse by becoming a bounty hunter and earn alot of money for his family.

Ash Crimson is indeed a twink, a pretty boy and very androgynous, but that doesn't mean he's gay. That's just looks. Nothing is implied that he is indeed a homosexual other than his feminine interests, such as nail-design and fashion. I know straight guys who like such things.

And no, the difference between Poison and Bridget is that Poison feels like a woman though born male, so she's surgically altered her body into looking like a woman. That's called Transexual.

Bridget is a boy, born male and stays male. He dresses like a girl though and that's called being a Transvestite. Unlike Poison, he doesn't want to be a girl, he wants to stay a boy.

A little fact, most transvestites are heterosexual men.

I don't want a "straight thread," so those of you reading into that are not really getting my point. We're all MK fans, so just have a thread about the favorite characters and be happy with that, there's no need to segregate farther out.

Well, if all threads were like that, wouldn't this forum be boring rather quickly?
A forum is for discussing different aspects of certain topics, in this case Mortal Kombat. Discussing what MK character might be homosexual is also an aspect of that game.

Neither of us are claiming that anyone is in fact gay or not, these are all simply speculations and opinions, nothing more.

I see what you're saying, but there are many threads like that already. There's been a couple favorite characters threads, and I believe there's a top 5 thread on the front page. We just dug a little deeper and added something to an otherwise usual thread. It's gotten over 500 replies in the past 3 days, so people do care about this particular topic. It's another topic to pass the time til April.

Probably because the majority are straight male gamers. There's no real surprise there... Gaymers are a minority, so it's fun to see how many there actually are on this forum, and then the thread evolved into many related topics...

There's a "female gamer" thread as well, but it hasn't grown as much as this thread... dunno why though.

Because there's like four girl users who actually go on this sire and actually has the balls to shout out that they're girls.
