Well WWE,ECW, and all branching companies are my defintion and most peoples definiton of commercial wrestling. Things like the TNA and the octagon is real wrestling, I am talking about commercial wrestling. I was pretty sure anyone could figure that one out. This thread seemed to be about commercial wrestling primarily. Its popularity has plummeted in the last 2 years and I doubt anyone defending it has any good points to make. Tell me which types of wrestling are you arguing with me about so I can prove you wrong about some more things while I am at it, considering I am debating someone with a power rangers signature. You do not even have it as a joke cause you have the newest type of the fruits.

yes, its loose sheets of plywood. when he superplexed him, they never went through the ring. the ring posts gave out and the ring collapsed.

I've helped put together and take out the APW ring a couple of times, and it was a metal structure, with plywood over it and then the mat.

Also, rumor has it Benoit is gonna get moved back to RAW after Wrestlemania! That means when RAW comes to Portugal in June, I'm going to see Benoit live again! Awesome.

wrestleings fake end of story, if you don't like it, pretend its real. i love wrestling and it has been a huge part of my life, and when i found out it was fake i said, oh well, im still gona watch it

you forgot the vinal cover..well, guess it depends on the company. the ring i done had plywood, then a littlebit of foam matting, then a vinal "sheet" to cover it.

theres also a large spring in the center of the ring. it helps absorb impacts and also give the effect that people are hitting the mat harder then they actually are (i e the bounce effect). some companies actually put a mic under the ring so that the slams and such are amped thru the arena. of course, not all feds do the same thing.

i remember seeing the wcw ring gettin set up. it was pretty freakin sold with hardly any give to it. while a wwf/e ring is real bouncy (as i mentioned above). some of the underground feds dont have either. one i remember seeing looked like they were wrestling in a ring with a deflated kiddie pool for the mat, lol.

some use different sizes of padding as well. the one we used had about average thickness. usally the thinner the better. the thicker it is the worse as you loose traction and can slip during spots....thats why the souls of our boots are very thin, for better traction and control.

The highlight of that trip? In the smaller of the two shows, Oporto, there was a group of fans who chanted "royal kill"...that was nice that they knew about it... and I have to say that I am ALWAYS getting questions about when it will be released. I believe it will be this year I tell everyone...I am not sure about a specific date yet

Mania predictions so far:

Ladder match - Whoever the last contestant is, it doesn't matter because Kennedy will win for sure. It makes perfect sense and I predict some cool angles and promos from Kennedy once he wins the contract.

ECW World Champ vs WWE IC champ - Lashley wins and Vince shaves his head bald.

World Title - Undertaker gets his last reign.

WWE Title - Cena retains, thus keeping everything in the same old shit category.

Going back to the whole ridiculous deal with undefeated streaks ignoring DQ losses and stuff like that, what about ladder matches? You dont get pinned or made to tap in Ladder matches, so you never lose a ladder match? Is it impossible to lose a ladder match since you dont get pinned or made to submit? Stupid wrestling rules.

my mania prediction so far:

Undertaker wins

MIchael wins:subject to change my opinion for this one... its a toughy

ladder match... either matt or jeff hardy

melina beats ashley.... oh come on we know there gonna do the match

While we're at predicting matches still to come, I think Ashley will beat Melina, and Khali will defeat Kane. Benoit will lose the U.S. title to whoever his opponent is (probably MVP?), the ECW new blood will beat the ECW originals with Marcus Cor Von or Elijah Burke picking up the win, Chavo Guerrero will retain the CW title in either a battle royal or a singles with Yang, and there will probably be tag title matches ( I imagine Cena and Micheals will lose the straps really soon to Cryme Tyme).

Well there are a couple of ways of looking at it:

-It is actually possible to 'lose' a latter match because the winner retrieves the prize and the loser doesn't. Simple as that.

-If the match is 1 on 1, then I consider the match having a winner and a loser. The person who climbs the ladder and retrieves the prize is obviously the winner.

-If the match is a triple threat or larger, then the match obviously has a winner but I'm not sure if we can call the other 2 opponents losers. I think you can consider them losers though because If they didn't win the match they lost the match. You can't have a draw in a ladder match.

Yes, you are absolutely right, and that's why these rules are ridiculous. In the magical world of convenient pro wrestling, you're not the loser even if you're not the winner. You can just ''not win'' a match, like if you get DQed or Counted Out. Umaga was undefeated even though his team lost at Survivor Series. I mean seriously, what sense does that make? If someone asks Umaga ''Hey, when was your last match?'' and Umaga would say ''Oh it was at Survivor Series''. ''Cool, did you win or lose?''. ''Oh I kind of just got disqualified and my whole team lost the match, so basically I DIDN'T LOSE.'' ridiculous. Fucking ridiculous and I wish WWE would stop insulting our intelligence.

Anyways, ah just as I predicted, Benoit will face MVP for the title at Mania, and the ECW originals will battle the ECW New Blood.

lol well WWE is a predictable product, and Pro Wrestling itself is usually very predictable- except ROH of course. I certainly didn't expect Danielson to drop the title to Homicide, and Homicide to this new Japanese guy. I also didn't expect them to completely depush Davey Richards for no apparent reason and turn Rod Strong heel. Two big mistakes IMO.

Some news on TNA:

** Mike Johnson is reporting that TNA will be losing the rights to the NWA name and the NWA titles in the next several months. TNA has plans to introduce their own set of World and Tag Team titles very soon. One scenario being discussed would see Samoa Joe win the NWA title and then toss it down saying he's the TNA champion instead much like Shane Douglas did in ECW back in 1995.

Over the weekend, at an NWA show in Canada, Bryan Danielson made a challenge saying he wants to be the NWA champion. The NWA committee met and once the titles are gone from TNA Danielson is in line to be the next champion.
