I'll say this, I can name 10 wrestlers that deserve more so than Orton to win the Rumble, now some of them I don't like and all have had the title at least more than once:
1) Undertaker
2) Shawn Micheals
3) Triple H
4) Big Show
5) Kane
6) JBL
7) Ric Flair (ok maybe he's a long shot)
8) Kurt Angle
9) Booker T
10) Chris Benoit

Now, if anyone can give me 10 viable reasons why Orton is better than these 10 guys and will win the Rumble, than maybe I might change my opinion, but I won't hold my breath waiting.

Orton is new, he's a rising star and it's better to make new stars than to keep using the same old estabilished characters and people: the idea is that tomorrow the business still exists. All of those had their shots at the World title (either in WWE, WCW, etc) so why not give Orton a "real" run as Champion since his last one was pretty much a joke. (OK, the only one that had a championship run that's a bigger joke than Orton is Kane but I don't see him ever winning a world championship even though he desearves it)

Ok, you made some viable points, and I agree to some of them. I still stick by that list, and you can add RVD to the list.

It's not a matter of us wanting it to happen or it making sense at all. Orton's winning the Rumble because that's what Vince wants.

Well I have nothing against RVD, I don't think he held a really important title anywhere (I'm not sure how important was the TV title in ECW but the Hardcore title in WWE was pretty much a joke as far as I've heard) and he's been an IC champion so I don't see why he shouldn't be given a shot at the world title as well. He seems to be pretty over with the majority of fans as well even though I don't really like him that much.

i see Undertaker winning the royal rumble because

1. he hasn't been champion since the the triple threat match aganist the the rock and angle

2. Bautista vs. Undertaker, WM22 for The World Heavyweight title is a WAAYYYY better main event

and 3. These Two had NEVER Fought. Maybe a litle bit in 2003 royal rumble but never in a real match, I don't even think the fought in a tag team match brfore.

If Orton were to win, ( I really hope he Doesn't) he'll decide to go to Raw and fight Cena!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

By the way, those who have Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 and a AR max or gameshark cheat disc, there're a whole bunch of Hidden Matches in the game like Money in the bank, Ironman table match, 6 man backstage brawl, cell of blood, etc.

This is what I want, that Batista defends his title against Undertaker at WM 22 and he has never won a Royal Rumble match so here we go.

Everyone is forgetting that Edge is still the no. 1 contender for the WWE championship match.........

Tyson Tomko VS Snitsky VS Heidenreich VS Cena for the WWE Championship to main event Wrestlemania, after Tomko, Snitsky and Heidenreich all are simultaneously eliminated last from the Rumble and declared co-winners.
More impossible (and nightmarish) enough? smile

Actually, I read the win/loss results of WWE's wrestlers for 2005 somewhere not too long ago, and Heidenreich was at the top of the list, tied with somebody else (seriously, after subtracting losses from wins, he's at the top of the table, no joke). If wrestling were a real sport, Heidenreich would have had several championship matches by now. tongue

Funnily enough, Triple H, the guy who everybody says doesn't put other people over, was about halfway down the list due to a pretty good deal of losses. Even JR has a more impressive win/loss record and is ranked higher than like S2H or something too, because JR was 1 for 1, winning his only match of the year, and S2H had about a billion losses and 1 win or something. Hah.grin

Of course he never puts other people over, except for Eugene, Shelton Benjamin, Benoit, Batista, Orton, Big Show nowadays...

LOL! So, yeah, Trips never puts anyone over at all!! tongue grin

I agree with Candyman1014, Taker will win the Rumble. And as for Vince "wanting Orton to win" where the hell did anyone get that?

Speaking of Vince, check this out:
** Yahoo is featuring an overview of the 2008 election and lists about 50 potential candidates. The list consisted of names like Joe Biden, Hilary Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry, Mark Warner, Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, George Pataki, and even Condoleezza Rice. They also listed CEO of the WWE, Vince McMahon. This was not to be taken as a joke. Ventura’s name also made the cut as well.

Chris Masters could make a huge impact if he won the Royal Rumble, moves to SmackDown!, challenges batista at WM 22, makes him tap out with his Master Lock and ended his 12 month reign as World Heavyweight Champion......... (just a thought)

Well Orton is obviously going to win the Rumble, Vince is the one who makes the decisions. Trust I hate it about as much as you do but it's gonna happen. There will be no Taker vs Batista at wrestlemania, not by a looooooooooooooooooong shot.

This is Vince. He makes you look one way then hits you over the head with a huge bombshell. Orton will NOT win! Cause if he does...

Ouch... poor Cena. I actually feel bad for him now. I've never seen a face take that sort of abuse, and from the look on his face before his freestyling you could tell he noticed it. He needs to be turned into a heel, quick.

I've never seen so many booes for a face before... that was horrible. Everytime Angle did anything the crowd was roaring for him and anytime Cena even threw a punch they booed.

Agreed. Ironically, imo, they put on the best spot all night. His freestyle, albeit cheesey, had some funny lines.

I'll admit I was happy at the time... I mean, Kurt pretty much dominated that match and actually picked up a "clean" victory over Cena. Since Cena rarely ever loses, I was fairly happy. But when the crowd is booing at Cena trying to go on offensive and then they cheer Daivari while he's interferring... wow. There wasn't even a dueling chant this time... only at one point did I hear Cena's chant, but it was just silenced not five seconds later.

Once it was all over though and I came back to my computer... I started to feel really bad for him. He's not a bad wrestler at all and as a heel he wasn't being heckled the way he is now. This is obviously the fault of the writing team shoving things down the audience's throat, and they need to take a hint. But really, the writing team don't have to suffer their faults... that generally falls right on the wrestler. I just wonder if that sort of thing bothers Cena at all mentally.

Noticed them cheering during Daivari's interferance too eh? I was thinking shit... that's gotta hurt. I mean when your the WWE Champ and people are cheering for some guys sidekick over you that has to be a slap to the ego.

Haven't watched the past couple RAW's in their entirerty. Holy shit, though, Cena got hammered. Crazy. Yeah, though, the rest of the show could have been a total piss break. Hope Cena's character turns around.

I guess Somoa Joe jacked up his ankle a bit, but anyone know how bad it is? Suck if he had to drop the belt.

Can't wait to watch that RAW, sounds awesome.
But remember my man, Scott Steiner? I think he got treated right during RAWs, but at the Royal Rumble he got booed a bit, and at No Way Out it was insane. He was the top babyface of RAW and the people wouldn't even do the ten punch count for him.
ok i havent been watching Raw in few weeks and hopefully people wont take my question as a "spoiler", but on Raw last night , is there a reason that Cena wasnt getting a "positive" response fromt he crowd on raw, not that i like or dislike him but im wondering was there something i missed that he did or said that got him that got that type of reaction.

people are booing Cena b-cuz he is getting boring and not interesting. He isn't much of a wrestler since he only does 5-7 moves in his matches, and Batista makes him look like crap.

Well really, Cena himself does have some wrestling ability... it's just that his face character does not. I'm not sure why, but when Cena became a face he was forced dropped his entire wrestling arsenal in favour for the 5 moves of doom. When was the last time he did the "Throw back" or his underhook submission? I can hardly remember him doing them at all, since it seems so long ago now. Looking at his movelist in SD vs. RAW 2006 just makes you remember some of the things he used to do in the ring while a heel.
