Yeah I knew about Cyberslam (man those were the days...) Cyberslam 2000 (I think) is where Justin Credible won the ECW world title from Tommy Dreamer after Taz handed him the belt after winning it from Mike Awesome. Sadly the only one on DVD is '99 which is still pretty good.
SpikeTV is said to be very happy with TNA Wrestlings performance in its first month of programming. The ratings have been so good that Spike has given TNA its first 2-hour primetime special this Thursday night.
Spike has been very supportive of the TNA product thus far, but has suggested that TNA sign more recognizable names to appear on television. Specifically, SpikeTV has told TNA they would like to see the company bring in several wrestlers from the late WCW era who didnt jump to WWE when WCW was bought out.
Many within TNA feel that bringing in wrestlers from the past purely for their name value is a major mistake. They feel that to be a true alternative product to WWEs sports entertainment, TNA needs to concentrate on presenting innovative, competitive matches and developing compelling personalities.

I agree with TNA ... I don't wanna see a bunch of yesterday's running around...I like the freshness of new blood.

Exactly. They're alreay being compared to WCW, don't further the comparison, by doing one of their biggest mistakes, pushing seasoned vets instead of new talent. That move will surely mean company death.

Impact tonight was AWESOME! Great matches all around, the Ultimate X match was great. For once the X didnt fall down, best match of the night with everything going perfectly.
The main event was good, Death Sentence through table = sick. Only thing I dont like is Jarrett winning the title...AGAIN. Theyve gotta stop tossing it around. Lately its been Raven,Jarrett,Rhino and now Jarrett again.
Didnt watch smackdown tonight. I might in an hour, probably not though. Its too boring to me now.

LOL!! Fucking triple power-bomb that shit, Rabbid. Yeah, Impact was NICE tonight. Man, it's great. TNA is re-kindling my love for wrestling. It's funny because I watch WWE and i"m like "Dee Dee Dee..." Then I watch TNA tonight and have a smile on my face the whole show through. I love it! I see something new, or at the very least not seen in a while, every time I watch.
The six man tag match stole the show for me. Main event was pretty decent. I knew Rhino wasn't going to hold that strap longer than it takes for him to take a shit. Whatever, though. X match was decent, too. Haha, funny how the crowd was all "please don't fall, please don't fall..." lol, too good.
Oh, and Montey cuts some OLD SCHOOL style promos, lol. Excellent.
Didn't watch SD tonight, don't really care, though I guess I better read what happened to stay up on news.

i thought sd wasnt on til tonight? last i heard it wa son fridays and not thursdays anymore. beats me, as i dont watch it anymore.
the wwe product is finally being seen for it it has always been..a joke. ever since they dragged wrestling in the gutter around 98, it been a bunch of bs. i always watched both wcw and wwf. then when nitro came out, i watched wcw. nitro was always great. i dont think wcw's problem came prom pushing people like hogan and a few others instead of new people..the problem is they stuck with the nwo storyline for way too long. it was the greatest story ever in wrestling, and they didnt follow it up. it became "hogan vs savage for nwo leadership" then the wolfpack formed and it was "red vs white" which was good, and the wolfpack was very popular, then sting, hogan and a few others disapeared and it became a real joke. they had sevie ray fighing vincent for the leadershit of the nwo..all 4 members that remained, lol.
after the nwo was finally gone, they tried bringing it back a few times. under vince russo and jeff jarrett. along with bret hart, hall, nash, etc. i liked this version of the nwo was they were ruthless and attacked everyone like they didnt give a shit. but, it was clear it wasnt for storyline reasons..just to try to "milk it a little more"..as scott hall said live on tv.
after that, it became a lame downward spiral. it was like wcw didnt know what to do without the nwo. when bischoff and russo took over, it was a little better. but they took good storylines that actually had, like sting and vampiro, and ruined them. it became the "millionaires club vs the new blood". i didnt like the story at all. to see kidman wooping up on hogan was just sad. and then there was a nitro where hogan "juiced" right in front of the damn camera..yea..in front of the camera ON LIVE TV. it was even worse when they showed the slomo replay.
everything got out of hand for wcw because they didnt go with a new formula for its shows. instead they tried to be like wwf and and copy jerry springer, and that was the end imo.
wwf/wwe ruined wrestling. its funny, cause vince actually thinks hes some kind of "god" or something...and all he did (like i said earlier) is put the springer show in a wrestling ring. it was no longer wrestling. he doesnt care that he puts on a good wrestling match, i mean look at their matches ever since then. constant screwups night after night...but its ok casue "we are intertainment"
people didnt start watching raw over nitro because the program was better, people watched for the same reason they watch talkshows and soaps..it had cursing and constant sex and nonsense on screen.
with all that being said, i always felt i had a perfect ending to the nwo storyline..and a way to bring it back in the wwe without it sucking. i re did it after vince hired bichoff.
as we all know 9or at least id think so) sting "changed" into crow sting to right the wrongs done to him by hogan and the nwo. now, seeing how they ripped off the crow storyline, they should have made it to where when sting beat hogan, the nwo fell apart and sting would have been normal again...but for some reason he didnt.
bischoff turns up in the wwe. vince and him are talking about it and vince comes out and starts talking about secrets and what not. as it turns out, vince sent hogan, hall, nash to destory wcw and even had bischoff in on it. in the middle of their little confession the lights go out *enter the stinger* ..cuts to vince shitting his pants and sting staring him in the face.
so sting could revert back to his orginal form, by beating vince to "free his soul" or whatever. i doubt something like that would happen, but it would be cool.
i didnt go into a lot of detail, just a basic outline of how id like to see it go. ive actually sent it (the full story)to the wwe but have never gotten a reply.

In Canada, it comes on both days. I usually watch on fridays, cause I have other commitments on Thursdays.

See, I agree and disagree with allot of your points. If not for Vince and the WWF, there would be no more wrestling. WWF pushed the envelope time and time again, sure they stole some ideas from ECW, and hell even stole ideas and talent from WCW, but Vince had writers at the time that knew how to make things work, what worked for WCW, worked better for WWF, cause Vince knew what the hell he was doing. If you look back at the history of WCW, they just barely made it at times, cause they always had losers at the helm. It wasn't until Bischoff took overm did the company do a 360 and start to improve. Then the brass at Turner headquarters had a change of guard, they fired Bischoff, hired Russo, and WCW went to shit in no time. They then realized what a mistake it was to let Russo have as much power as he did, and even more so, an on air role where he made himself WCW Champion, they hired Bischoff back, and made the two of them partners, but, by then, as most wrestling enthusiasts, like myself know, it was too late and WCW, was to far down to recover, Turner brass lost faith in the company, and pulled the plug. So you slam WWF for the way wrestling was in the mid to late 90's, but it's a fact that WCW had just as much to do, if not more so, for that down period. The NWO was a great storyline yes, but it got to watered to way to soon, and yeah, did go on waaayyy to long. The last NWO with Bret and Jarrett and the rest, sucked monkey's balls!

Not true, cause I started watching Raw over Nitro, cause at the time that was all that aired in Canada, and even when we did get Nitro, I like Raw better, and so did allot of other people for not the reasons you said, but because it was just a plain better show.

WWE doesn't accept fan ideas for storys, which is to bad, cause this is good, and it proves that you can write a better story than some of their current writers.

I know exacly what you mean I feel the same... it's like wrestling is new again. I also notice that they seem to make things look a little more realistic. Moves look like they connect a little more rather then having it wiff and miss and have the guy look like he just got hit. I dunno it's just a lot of fun watching TNA.
I dunno if you guys have seen this but here's the controversial Triple H promo from the Raw tour in Australia. It's got some pretty funny/offensive comments in it, and he works the crowd like a stand up comedian.
*Pointing at a guy in Roddy Piper getup in the front row that's heckling him* - "Like i'm gonna take shit from a fag in a dress!"
"Hey, don't think I won't call the government, you're on some kind of terror-watch list somewhere."
*Waving hand in front of face like Cena* - "I wish I DIDN'T see you, that's the problem!"
This had the whole crowd in stitches, even Batista and Benoit looked like they were cracking up. This is another reason why Triple H is The Man.

Ok this rant has had a long time coming, but it's just a little insight on what kind of wrestling fan I am:
Out of curiosity, does anyone here have a problem with matches that come off as "spotfests"? Because I really don't at all. I hear there are those who do but I just can't seem to understand why. Wrestling to me is about enjoying the show being put on in the ring. So when I see something like a top rope powerbomb being reversed into a top rope super hurricanrana(for those who have seen and EZ Money vs Kid Kash matches you know what I'm talking about) I lose my mind because these are the guys that are pushing the envelope. I would get very excited whenever I saw Jerry Lynn take on RVD because I know I was going to see some shit that no other company would dare do, like suicide front flips from the top rope over the barricade and into the crowd. I loved seeing moves being strung together in tag matches like a reverse powerbomb bouncing of the ropes and then turned into a camel clutch with the recipient then recieving a dropkick to the face within a matter of seconds. That to me is wrestling. But you don't get that kind of wrestling in WWE. Granted I'm not saying WWE's product is necessarily band, but it does tend to get boring because of how limited wrestling has become to them. This is why I watch TNA. TNA in the short time that I have been following it (which is slighty about a year now) has reminded me why I'm a wrestling fan.
I grew up watching WWF because it was the only thing available to me, but when I was younger WWF was breath taking. I still have fond memories like Shawn Micheal vs. Tatanka in the opening match of Wrestlemania IX and thinking "Wow if that's just the first match I can't wait to see what else happens tonight". Granted that turned out to be the best match of the night, but damn was it ever good. Going even farther back to possibly my earliest wrestling memory, I still rember having goosebumps of Macho Man Randy Savage winning the WWF title at Wrestlemania IV. But as I got older the WWE product became more and more stale. So, like many other wrestling fans I looked elsewhere. First to WCW during the NWO period (at this point though Sting was already waering The Crow makeup). Then to ECW.
The funny thing though about ECW is that I had known about them since they first appeared on Raw (just prior to the Attitude era), back when Paul Heyman (still Paul E. Dangerously) pretty much made WWE look bad after showing Vince how they recycled WWE's "garbage" like Skip of the Body Donnas and Aldo Montoya and turned them into two of the biggest names in ECW in Chris Candido and Justin Credible. I find it quite ironic that back then WWE tried to snake RVD away from ECW but he stayed loyal to Paul and ECW. In the long run it just added yet another nickname to RVD's list: The Whole Fuckin Show, Mr. Pay Per View, and now Mr. Monday Night. To me ECW was the holy grail of wrestling. You had guys like Nova coming up with new moves every week only for them to be stolen and show up on Monday Night Raw and WCW Nitro. You had guys like RVD and Jerry Lynn who put on 45+ min. matches without missing a beat. You had Taz who only stood at 5'9 but was the most intimidating man in wrestling, and not some shmuck commentator. Another thing about ECW is that there really were no rules. Matches weren't won by count out or DQs and a chair was just a prop to help a match along. Unlike chairs in WWE that end matches with one swift swing, in ECW they were integrated into peoples moves. RVD used them for the Van Daminator and Van Terminator. Sabu used them to spring from the mat to the middle of the top rope and then on to the outside. Tables were also just props for matches. Just because someone was put through a table didn't mean shit. But of all of the things that made ECW great was how they connected with the fans. When matches spilled out into the crowd there weren't a bunch of security guards holding everyone back, the crowd just know to give them room to go and there may have been two or three bounces in the crowd just in case, but they never came into play as far as I remember. Every night The Sandman came through the crowd drinking beer with the fans and the only people around him were the fans, he didn't have a crew of guys in yellow shirts cutting him off from anyone and every now and then he'd pour a beer into a fans mouth because he could. It was ECW that started the "Holy Shit" chants, the "Fuck You (fill in name)" chants, and the ever brutal "You Fucked Up" chants. You would NEVER hear anything like that anywhere else.
So you can imagine how I felt when ECW went under in 2001. But then came the Invasion angle in WWE and here I thought "Ohh My God, Vince is a genius by bringing ECW into the mix". At least those were my feelings through out most of the show until the end when Stephanie McMahon somehow or another became the head of ECW. And then it got worse when ECW pretty much just joined with WCW and then the angle went to hell. That period in time is probably when I hated WWE the most because they had so much good talent, and let it all go to waste, because the WWE guys had to come first. WWE wasted away a great talent in Jerry Lynn first by making him a light-heavyweight. They then missed a great oppurtunity of reforming the Impact Players with Justin Credible and Lance Storm. Then went Raven because they had nothing for him. And By then end of the year 90% of all of the guys they had were either gone or never used on TV. Lance went on to be labeled the most boring man in wrestling (which to me is just incomprehensible), Rhino, or should I say Rhyno, never went anywhere, Taz(z) went on to be Micheal Cole's lacky, and the list goes on and on. And with that, great wrestling dissapeared for what I felt was forever.
Until TNA. For what it's worth, thank you Jeff Jarrett and Jerry Jarrett. Granted, they arn't the true people to thank for why TNA is so good, but they got the ball rolling and for that, they have my gratitude. I can easily say that I'll take Christopher Daniels, Sanjay Dutt, Petey Williams, and AJ Styles over any HHH, Batista, Hogan, Edge, and Kane match any day of the week. Granted, I may be marking out for TNA just a little bit because of it's ECW-like flavor, but I truely believe they put on a much better show in their one hour than WWE does in it's four hours.

Chris Benoits contract is up for renewal later this month and word out of the WWE camp is that the company has offered him a company which is considered low for a wrestler of his stature. If Benoit and WWE cant come to an agreement, its possible that he will become yet another big free-agent on the market.

Can you say TNA??!!
Wouldn't it be a coo for TNA to sign Benoit and Christian? Benoit's name ain't copywriten by WWE, cause he's used the name almost his whole career, so he can come into TNA and wrestle as Benoit and win the World title. And Christian, his name is also his to use outside of WWE, so he can wrestle in TNA as Christian. There's an interesting article from Sescoops that tells more:
**"Who Really Has The Rights To The "Christian" Name?"**
Despite Vince McMahon having licenced the name "Christian" as copywrited WWE property several years ago, Christian will retain full rights to continue using the name outside of World Wrestling Entertainment.
For several years prior to entering the WWF as a member of The Brood, Christian wrestled on the independent circut as "The Canadian Rage" Christian Cage. The absolute worst case scenerio would be that he would have to use the last name Cage if he were to work outside of the WWE.
The precedent for this has already been set and enforced several times in favor of the individual performer. Vince McMahon had copywrited "The Honky Tonk Man" as his intellectual property, however the copywrite was struck down, as the former Intercontinental Champion was able to prove that he wrestled under the name "Honky Tonk Wayne" in Stampede Wrestling prior to his WWF debut, and was given full control over the name and gimmick. The Ultimate Warrior was also granted rights to the name "Warrior" as well as the character's trademark facepaint and ring attire, as Jim Hellwig was able to prove that he had used the Dingo Warrior gimmick prior to signing a WWF contract.
On a side note, it is looking entirely likely that Christian will be signing a TNA contract when he is legally able to do so. His friendship with TNA head booker Scott D'Amore dates back to their days on the Canadian independent circut. Christian is also a resident of Florida, and would only need to work a maximum of five dates a month, most of which would not require him to leave the state, as opposed to being on the road as many as 300 days out of the year.
More information will be made available in upcoming weeks.

For me,I don't see Benoit heading to TNA even as a possibilty. He hasn't been treated that bad lately, his U.S. title reign just ended, and I know that it should be a world title,be its still good. Hes not like in the position Christian was in. Christian had been jobbing for years, Benoit hasn't. I think the only reason why Chris would go to TNA is if he wanted a lighter schedule. Otherwise he'll stay in WWE or retire.
Yes but see, Benoit's going to be offered slightly over half of what he used to be making in the new contract. That sounds like bullshit to me, Benoit's been doing nothing but produce but they want to cut down on his salary? Fuck them, Benoit should go to TNA.

I totally agree. Though, I really do enjoy Batista, lol. He's got some great facial expressions.
I don't have a problem with "spot fests," either. That's really all luchador is on Galaga vision, heh. It's really nice to see moves strung together. It expands the creative aspect so much. That's the REAL entertainment, not this gimmicky, bullshit.
To tell the truth, I wouldn't be a bit suprised to see Benoit go to TNA. He'd be a great fit and could do wonders in terms of promotion. Who knows, though.

I can't see him making the jump to TNA now myself either, I agree with you there, but maybe, he could explore it sometime, just to say that he's been in every major or minor fed in wrestling.
Speaking of TNA, sescoops has another article on the game that Midway is making.
