Very cool. It has my attention.
Mega evolutions are really turning me off.... I'm usually pretty optimistic about any new information about a series I like (you won't see me bitching about Killer Instinct, for example), but I hate this idea... And I say that as a guy who was once a child obsessed with Digimon.

I think the interesting thing about Mega Evolutions is that they can only occur during battle.
This, for me at least, makes them more tolerable and even good for strategy. My only gripe is the strong probability that people are going to spam the shit out of them.
I am honestly pretty excited about utilizing the MegaBlaziken form, as I am already a lover of Blaziken. I see myself using the form in instances where Blaziken may be unable to last against a particular pokemon, or in instances where the opponent's defense is too high for Blaziken to break through.
Also, I am pretty darn curious to see what kind of form a MegaCharizard would have.

I want something more from Team Flares / Bell bottoms / 70s disco dance (or whatever they're called).
the villainous team has traditionally always been linked to (at least some of) the Legendaries in some way.
TR (yes, they wanted money, but also) created Mewtwo from the fossilized DNA of Mew.
TA & TM wanted to change the landscape by bringing forth their chosen member of the Weather Trio
TG wanted to remake the entire universe by manipulating the Time/Space/Antimatter continuum (also a reference to 'playing God' tied into Arceus the original creator)
TP had a deep intwined plot involving deception and double-crossing, manipulating their own members into fighting for a false cause which was a smokescreen for the real cause - using the dragons to take over (also a reference to how not everything is 'black & white')
Xe & Yv represent the principles of life and death themselves; yet the team's only motivation is money? I hope there will be more revealed in-game as this feels weak.

Honestly, I find it to be quite refreshing.
Every villain team before them had weird, diabolical schemes, even Team Rocket. This team is simply standard criminals who want to make some dough. I think it's pretty sweet.
Hopefully the game won't be focused around the villain team so much, like it has been in every other generation. Truly, it gets tiring.

I hope that the main villian doesn't have a prominent role in the first 2 titles, but in the 3rd title (or 3rd and 4th titles), it has a role on par with the other games' story.PickleMendip Wrote:

I'm just hoping the boss is a female.
They haven't done that yet.

So you also get a Kanto starter in the game too.
Mega Blastoise looks awesome.
Mega Venusaur looks really terrible. Worse than I expected and I thought I was expecting the worst already.
Mega Charizard looks pretty bad too.

Mega Venusaur: looks very good, expanding on the jungle-y vibe with more vines & flowers. Like the new ability it really helps against the two major offensive weaknesses it has.
Mega Charizard: love the look, even more dragon-like but STILL not dragon type!! Expect to take 50% damage from stealth rock for much time to come. Drought is so damn useful for fire though, so should offset some weaknesses.
Mega Blastoise: What... DAFUQ... is this???
There are less than six weeks before the game's launch, and the rest of the 6th generation have still yet to be released.
This is driving me insane! I really don't want to have to buy the game in order to know the entirety of the generation. I don't think that's fair.

I don't even like surprises.
In any case, I'd rather know what I am getting with a game. I can wait to see the gym leaders, really, as well as the elite four and the Champion, but the new generation of pokemon are the point of getting the game. That is what we should be seeing.

I think there needs to be a Mega evolution of every starter's final evolution. Mostly just 'cause I want a Mega Torterra.

I've updated my Pokémon Effectiveness System with the Fairy type, and adjusted accordingly.
I've also added an overall number for simple accumulation. However, it is still better to view the actual rank, anyway.
