From what I've seen I would assume this generation is very appearance-conscious. They're going for a modern/fashionable/attractive thing, it would seem, however subjective that may be.

According to one of the trailers, the appearance detail is due to the image of France, particularly Paris, being a place of great beauty.

Of course, Paris is one of the fashion captials of the worlds.
Not to mention all the people who clamour pour l'amour...

Shushupu/Spritzee probably evo's into an Ibis or similar bird with the long curved beak, like a plague mask. The pink made me think Flamingo, but the way it's beak is a mask made me think burgandy Ibis like bird.

*EDIT: Looking at a topic on Serebii forums, I see ridiculous talk of Citron/Clemont being Fairy type Gym leader? Why Fairy? I suppose he looks like a science fiction, imaginitive dreamer. Physically weak, filled with child like whimsy...

Who says Zakuro/Grant isn't Fairy? Gems in his hair, some fairies "Grant" wishes...

Not all faeries are pink/fluffy/girly/weak. Lepruchauns are an example of dark faries. Oh ye of little fey'th. It's about a blanket generic term as demon.

Seriously though, Zakuro is Japanese for Pomegranite aka stone apples.
People on Serebii have noted the lightning bolt in Citron/Clemont's hair, and his name referencing citron/lemon which is used in Bagdad batteries. Maybe he's a dual Electric/Steel gym. The robot arms say steel. Everything else says electric.

Orotto a sinister looking tree? Aura + Grotto? Grass/Ghost or Fairy, but the Serebii drawing's lightning bolt shapped eyes make me think Grass/Electric. ^_^

Has anyone thought about the number of new Pokémon that we'll get? I'm thinking that they could possibly pay homage to the first gen and add 151 rounding the total up to a perfect 800.

A perfect 800 would be awesome.

Now, let's talk about some rumors I've heard?

Rapidash evolving. Yup, after so long. It's meant to ve a Fire/Fairy, and would be a Pegasus. Rapidash with WINGS.
Further, the sword Pokemon has led more than just myself to think 'Shield Pokemon counterpart' However, considering the Sword is so unique, and for other reasons gone rampid, people are expecting a Steel/FAIRY type Shield. Makes sense.

I want a Grass/ Ghost and a Grass/Dragon this Gen. On top of that, I want a Fire/Water type, out of the awesomeness that would ensue.

I'm hoping the roster is much smaller this time around.

I'm still coping with the fuck up that is the majority of the 5th generation. Even though the newer pokemon are turning out great, I'd still much rather work with a smaller amount.

120 would be a perfect, imo. Maybe 121, to lean the full list to an even number.

Rumours in Pokémon? I think everything is still speculation, especially with how the last interview had the guy say that they would reveal very little these days. And heck, a Pegasus Rapidash probably would be cool, but I would hope it doesn't become Fire/Flying (but if it was Fighting... tongue).Thinking about it, I can understand why people would be pissed if we had another Fire/Fighting starter, but why aren't more people pissed about having the same amount of mono-type Water and Plant starters?

I think 151 pkmns would be enough.

Also, I think now that we have a Fairy type, it would be cool to have a humanoid fairy from Smoochum, making it Psychic/Fairy. Evolving it by a different method.

I dunno, I think it may take away the significance of Jynx.

Maybe Jynx herself can evolve into a pokemon that's Ice/Fairy.
Rapidash evo should gain wheels styled like Arceus' ring. I could've sworn the Entei horse in InuYasha had wheels. I know I've seen this type of thing before.

Pegasus should be it's own Fairy line.

I agree with a Steel/Fairy Shield.

Rock/Fairy or Steel/Fairy Crystal Onix?

A Ground/Fighting Wrestler or retype Machop line, which is bodybuilder?

000-999
What if Missingno's retconned to be a Fairy, explaining all it's crazy jazz?

Orotto refined by Pokebeach
It's a Zaku Tr33 tongue

One rumor says it's Grass/Ground. The stripped bark, and sparse foliage makes it look like it's been hit by lightning. It's grounded. The red eye may signify anger from pain of being a lightning rod, rather than being Dark or a Ghost.

Another says Shushuppu/Spritzee is not a Plague mask bird, as I'd thought, but a Flamingo.

I'd figure if they made a Flamingo prevo it'd look like a Florida pink lawn ornament, with Litleo eyes, before the Phoenix-esque Water/Fire type.

Inkay is so KAWAII. I'm a call mine Blooper, like the SMB enemies.

The Flying Devil Fish not being Water makes sense, they're theorized to survive outside water in certain environments. Psychic means levitation, and they're also pretty damn intelligent. They naturally use Jet Propulsion, so Aqua Jet is a must. Yay, friends for Omastar! grin

I'm getting ready to start a Nuzlocke in Pearl Version, if anybody has a good set of rules to put on. Here is the current no. 1 contender;

All Pokemon must be nicknamed. This is to build a bond with them and make you feel worse when they die.
All Pokemon start out with a certain no. of lives.
Starters start out with a full 3 lives.
Any legendary or gift Pokemon starts out with 2 lives.
Wild Pokemon get a single life.
Each time a Pokemon evolves, it gains a life.
On each route/ area, you can only catch two Pokemon. These are the first 2 different Pokemon on each route.
Pokemon previously owned cannot be caught a second time after they have fainted. This does not include any Pokemon it did NOT evolve into, (i.e, if you caught a Starly, and it evolves into Staravia, and then dies, you cannot catch Staravia, but can catch Staraptor.)
The only Poke balls that can be bought are the Poke Ball, Great Ball, and Ultra Ball. Any other ball must be given to you.
Pokemon cannot be traded. This has no exceptions.
Victory Road must be a clean sweep. You must go straight through Victory Road without going back to heal.
You can only challenge the Elite 4 with a full party, unless you have less than 6 Pokemon.

If anybody has a better nuzlocke, please inform me.

So here's the final rule for my Pearl Nuzlocke, considering it needs to get started;

Each Pokemon still has a set amount of lives. However, the new rules are that the Starter ONLY starts with 2 lives, and each time a Pokemon evolves, it gains a life.
Once a Pokemon is out of lives, it cannot be used and is put into a P.C Box labeled "Dead", and cannot be removed.
Only the first Pokemon you meet on every route/area is the one you can catch. If it faints, flees, or you flee, too bad. This rule is null if you actually run into a Shiny or have no Pokeballs to catch Pokemon with. This is also null when you run into a Pokemon you have had before, and you can take the next Poke you find.
Gift Pokemon are acceptable, but Pokemon cannot be traded. This has no exceptions.
You cannot use healing items in battle, only in the field or a Pokemon center.
All Pokemon must be named, that way it feels worse when they die.
The only Pokeballs that can be purchased are the normal, Great, and Ultra. If a Premier Ball is obtained, it can also be used. Any other Pokeball cannot be bought, but CAN be used if obtained in the field.
All legendaries and shinies must be captured in a Premier or Master Ball. There are no exceptions. Legendary and Shiny battles are counted seperately than normal battles. You can heal in-battle, and the 1-Poke-an-area rule does not apply.
If you run out of Pokemon, it's GAME OVER. You MUST restart, no matter what was in your team or P.C.

I'm a boy named... Bloks.
My rival is named... Mega, Glue...? Konect!
I'm determining my starter by way of 3-coin-flip. 1 head= Grass. 2 Heads= Fire, 3 Heads= Water. No heads= choose. I had to take Chimchar. Owned the inaugural first Wild battle in 2 hits. As generally done, I don't consider that my battle for that area.

Nuzlocke update;

My Chimchar evolved in Oreburgh Mines. My team;

Mapdonos/ Monferno, LV16. Starter. 3 Lives.
Gnawshis/ Bidoof, LV 7. Route 201. 1 life.
Anmorak/ Kricketot, LV6. Route 202. 1 life.
Razoraung/ Starly, LV 12. Lake Verity. 1 life.
Blasfemur/ Geodude, LV 6. Oreburgh Gate. 1 life.
Wesper/ Zubat, LV 8. Oreburgh Mine. 1 life.

P.C.;
Martical/ Abra, LV6. Route 203. 1 life.

I beat Roark with a clean sweep using Monferno, Mach Punch being very useful in doing so. So far, no Pokemon have died, and I''ve caught a Pokemon in every region possible. Seems easier than I thought.
New silhouette up, may or may not be Pokémon related. Appears to be a Horse-like. The outline reminds me of Ponygon or a Nou Mou type thing.

Soritiba. Sori means "sleigh", putting the kana/kanji (ソリティ馬) in Google translate gets "sortie horse".

Ah, a mighty Poké steed perhaps? With the sword, and rumors of a shield, maybe ther'll be a midiveal/knight themed group or characters in the game? A Joan of Ark type character?

If Dark is weak against Fairy, Sableye and Spiritomb now have weaknesses.
And if that is true, then that would make the Eelektross line the only Pokemon without any weaknesses.

I've actually never played Diddy Kong Racing. sad

Psionime is based on any general hand clock, while its evolved form, Abueliempo is based loosely on the grandfather clock.

Yes! Allaven are the gates to the Underworld. In the generation I made, Pokemon Mercury & Venus, you have to catch an Allaven and use its move Gate Key outside of battle to go to the Underworld. There, you see all kinds of special pokemon and have a chance at catching an exclusive Diabolge.

In battle, Gate Key sharply increases Allaven's evasiveness.

Anyhoo, I really like Eelekk and Marmox. They look really cool, and I'm kinda waiting for an evolved form for Marmox. lol

Kinda late to reply on this.

Marmox was made from a toy I had. A dinosaur with small spikes all over it. I put a horse mask from another toy on it. I don't know why I called it Marmox, but it was swamp related. I was never sure what it would evolve into, so I kept it as a 1 off.

My Charleon was inspired from the fireball Lion sub-boss in Kirby.
Flio was a flamming teddy lion head, with fleas jumping off. It didn't have limbs, so it was Psychic to flick them off. Flio was Fire/Psy and type split between the parents, Fire Charleon, and LiEsPi, the Psychic female parent, I never got around to drawing.

I like the idea people had at Pokebeach of Litleo evolving into a Fire/Poison type Manticore. That'd be different.

Other's've also mentioned an Electric Cheetah would make a good addition. Dark/Elec maybe, as they are hunters/eat things.
*EDIT: Oh! Speed type: Weak to Rock, Ice, Fire, Poison, Dark. Good against Ghost, Electric, Psychic, Fighting.

The new Mega Pokémon forms look sick!! I want all of them. MegaAmpharos is rather interesting in that it gains the Dragon typing. I can't wait to see more of these and see how they evolve.

MegaCharizard better be Fire/Dragon
So, is MegaBlaziken an alt. evo of Combusken, or is it the first lv. 4 evo of Blaziken?

MegaAmpharos os the coolest. MegaLucario looks ninja-y. Looks like bits of Giratina or Darkrai.

Also, another electric mouse, and a normal looking Rabbit/Hare.

The Mega Evolutions are in-battle evolutions, obtained with an item exclusive to that pokemon.

I think it's pretty cool to have an extra evolution during battle, but I also think it's kinda Digimon-ish.
