Finding a match on mk2 is like finding one on mka for xbox. Some time you find one right away and other times you will sit there for an hour. Also remember that you have to set your head set settings to tv speaker. Other wise the sound will come out the head set for arcade games.

I suck at tekken but it gives me something to play when I’m not playing war hawk or my 360.

It still hasnt came out in Euorpe but I have an american account so I've downloaded it and well.... LAG.

Playing people from USA is useless... I'll guess I'll have to wait for the euorpean realse...

Actually, if you are good enough, you can even better with the keyboard than the Joystick. Its WAY more precise, heck.. Some people even consider it cheating.

My brother just bought Tekken 5 today. Is that any different from Tekken 5: DR?

Same fighting mechanics, but T5 DR has a couple new things.... and balances out a lot of other known broke shit as well.

Trust me, buying a PS3 is definatly worth it just for T5 DR.

There was a lot of broken shit in Tekken 5 that Namco fixed in Tekken 5: DR. The damage was just ridiculous in Tekken 5. Characters like Steve and Bryan could deal 80% of damage near walls off of any launcher or stun. Steve also had an infinite combo that was removed, Heihachi's 2,2~1 was fixed, Nina's u/f+1 was completely removed, and thus, limiting her Oki game, Feng's b+1 and SS+4 all got nerfed in DR, etc.

DR is a very good game but there are still some changes that I would make to the game (like, change some of the dumb crush system).

Hey guys! It's been awhile. I've recently met up with some folks in my area that play Tekken seriously; and are very active in the tourny scene. One of them will be getting a PS3 with DR. I've been so anxious to play DR it hurts We've been stuck playing 5.0. My main characters are Roger jr., Anna, and Wang. I'm practicing with King a little too. His iSW is a bitch to master.

I got to tell ya. It's alot more fun to play with real people; and getting out of the house; then online play ever was. So even if I do get a PS3 myself; I wouldn't play online that much.

Seasons Beatings is coming up. I'm trying to get things worked out so I can go. My work has this issue with requesting weekend days off. I might have to just call in *cough* sick *cough* that day.

Any of you guys find the British fag, Steve, broken? Maybe it's just me but it seems his "bob n' weave" moves avoid EVERYTHING that's thrown at him. My brother is EXTREMELY good with him and I can't seem to get around his side step bullcrap. The only chracters I can beat a good Steve are with Raven and Christie. Obvioulsly with good timing and patience.

Yeah, Steve is broken and he's even more broken when you catch someone in a corner. Generally, I've found that keeping him at mid distance and utilizing short quick combos help. Though, I mostly guage what the opponent is capable of using from his arsenal and make my offensive and defensive adjustment accordingly. However, I tend to use Law, Feng, Heihachi and Julia against people who use Steve. I've seen a few Bryan users fair well against some good Steve's too.

Good shit GD. It's funny because my bro considers Christie a counter-pick for Steve. Ha! That's a load of bullcrap. I don't think anyone counter-picks anyone in Tekken 5. They're pretty much all balanced so no god-tiers, or even a tier list at that matter. I also found Lei good against a good Steve. I love Lei's D+1 when he has his back turned to you. You could juggle them with like 5 or 6 of those, lol.

Also I've been practicing with Christie a lot. So does anyone know any pop-ups with her? The only pop-up I know is f,f, 3+4. But she takes like 2 or 3 seconds to recover from it even when it lands disabling her to get in other hits.

Steve got toned down a lot in DR. Back in 5.0, Steve was extremely broken. He had an infinite combo, dealt crazy damage of his juggles, and his wall game was so cheap. One launcher from his D/F 2 then follow by 6-7 dash jabs, wall splat into the spit fire combo, then you have to deal with his wall game mix up. That shit was so unfair. DR Steve is not broken at all. He doesn’t have a solid launcher or good mix up. You don’t have to worry about ducking when playing Steve. I really think DR Steve’s side step 4 is a really good evasive move. M2Dave plays Steve a lot so he can give you guys more information.

Like Jade-OWN said, Steve is broken in Tekken 5 but not in Tekken 5: DR where Namco fixed all of his bull shit. Theoretically speaking, as long as you don't get countered by Steve's attacks (namely by b+1~B and d/f+2), you should be fine. His mix up game is almost non-existent and all of the frame advantage he had in Tekken 5 is gone in DR. Sways do evade a lot but keep in mind that dashing in and doing an attack re-alligns your character with Steve so your attacks will track better. d/f+1+2 is -13 on block. Most characters can punish it with generic d+4's up close, and some characters(namely Heihachi and Bryan) can even launch.

Gamer07, you don't use f,f+3+4 with Christie/Eddy. That's just funny. Christie's/Eddy's best moves are:

d/f+2 (on counter, it launches)
d+4 (low poke; safe versus most characters)
u/f+4 (crushes low attacks)
SS+4 (safe low; very abusable)

HCF+1+2 (Rodeo throw; one of the most damaging throws in th entire game)

RLX stance (manual transition is d+3+4)
3~4 (mid launcher)
4~3 (low launcher; once your opponent lands on the ground, follow up with 1,4,4,3+4, d+3)

That's a mix up that cannot be seen on reaction.

Basic combos:

Any launcher, d/f+1,1, 1,2,4~4

Wall carrier: Any launcher, d/f+1,1, d/f+1,1, d/f+1,1 (Eddy ONLY)

After high wall splat, use u/f+3+4.
