Rally? Because I could've sworn that this was supposed to be a MK game with DC characters in it.

What you're basically saying is; "think of this game from the perspective of DC with MK characters in it..."

^I have to agree with this user. I think the mere fact that DC characters are running around in this game, is clouding alot of ppl's judgments. The render is far from bad, it's looks rather current-gen....to me at least.

One thing:

Gears of War (1,2) & Unreal Tournament 3 >>>>> Rest of UE3 games.

Compared any game (incluiding ME, LO or BS) with the games of Epic Games it's a instant fail. If the Epic Games are 10 (with UE3), the other games only can aspired to 9 with a brilliant team and better money. MKTeam only can aspire a 9 with a updated (GeoW2) version but compared to the first GeoW...

Hey Bezou. Give the game a chance man. Your trying to find excuses as to why you want everyone including yourself to hate this game. I know it wasnt what most MK fans (including myself) wanted, but It is what we got. Your trying to diss the graphics(which I admit arent perfect), but they arent horrible.
Of course monsters in Gears of War are going to have more detail to them than DC characters and most of MK characters. Monsters are made to look different than human figures.
All I want to know really, Is there anything you dont find negative about this game?

Im not snapping at you man. Im just trying to find out why your on this site so much, since you dont seem to care for the new direction of the game.

I wish they could admit that to a camera. heh Wouldn't make the premise more appealing however. But that's why this shit's got people apprehensive as all hell.

"Superhero games" fail on an incredibly consistent basis for sake of "cashing in". And I can't see any difference with this game either so far.

Let's be honest though, no matter what the MK team does, it can't possibly get worse than Armageddon. Ok, sure, Fatalities are gone, but in the last game they sucked ass anyway. Now everyone will at least get unique Finishers.

And now that the Konquest mode won't be included, and hopefully no other mini-games, they might give the fight mechanics some attention.

Because only by keeping my expectations as low as humanly possible can this game not disappoint me.

I can think of several recent superhero games I enjoy. Justice League Heroes, Spider-Man 2, Hulk: Ultimate Destruction...

'course, none of those are fighting games.

Look behind the "mask".

::First, I was saying the same thing coming to MKA, and it got waaay worse. More confusing, and the only thing I ended up playing the game for was the KAK.

::"Unique Finishers" was the basic idea behind KAFatality.

::There will be a "Konquest Mode", they just aren't calling it that now. They're calling it a "cataclysmic event that merges the realms". Which results in a two-sided story mode where, you play from one perspective as MK characters or DC characters. Successively, instead of choosing your character. Which means Scorpion, then Sub-Zero, then Raiden...or whatever the order is gonna be.

::Technical mini-games are actually confirmed out.

::We have Klose Kombat, Free Fall, and some other stuff I guess.


Did I miss anything?

I wouldn't call those mini-games. That's like calling stage hazards or air-kombat a mini-game.

A mini-game is an entire mode of play unto itself.

oh god that reminds me of that godawful comic from the mid-90's "Superman vs The Terminator"...*shivers*

Very few developers other than epic who made the U3 engine have managed to get it up to scratch.
Sure bioshock and mass effect were good,but there have been spectacular failures as well.
Blacksite and the too human fiasco show just how tough the engine is to use,I have confidence that boon with a bit of help from epic will get this right.

Oh, no. I didn't mean it like those were modes. Tried to separate them.

But on another note considering "the mask"....Could look at it like this about those "other gimmicks".

Finishers = KAF with out blood or rips

Free Fall = Air Kombat from MKA with a different camera angle on it.

Klose Kombat = 3 Fighting Stances from PS2 MK games. Just concentrated into one perspective instead of "styles". I mean, "it has it's own mechanic" the same way conceptually.

Not saying gimmicks are bad for a game...just calling it what it is. Take or leave the way I describe looking at it. I just think it's a perceptual issue = "Mask".

Let's not forget the old fighters like X-Men: Children of the Atom and Marvel Super Heroes. Both fighting games that didn't have any Street Fighter character involvement yet and kicked ass.

And on the PS1 I really enjoyed both X-men: Mutant Academy fighters. On the PS2 the sequel X-Men: Next Dimension got released, but I can't remember anymore if that game was any good.

I liked Next Dimension. It was pretty much Mutant Academy with more characters and a few gameplay improvements.

Am I the only one that thinks his face resembles Christopher Reeves from the early superman movies? Anyway, IMO this shit looks good. VERY GOOD.
