I definitely prefer that version too. Midway's render makes Superman look a little tubby.

What I think is funny... is that his hands are so detailed you can see all the veins and tiny hairs. Yet his "S" looks like someone cut/pasted it on there in MS paint.

How good the model looks depends a lot on the artists ability too, not just because of the engine they are using. Just like not everybody can draw at the same level with paper and pencil.

There is not a render I remember that looked like the final in-game product. That goes for all the fighters/heroes/villains/whatever else there is.

Other then that, he looks exactly how he’s supposed to look, which everyone expected.

It would be good to see an alt, like the one from Godfall.

I also see that Minion is a better cutout guy than the people who work at Midway.

It doesn't seem like they've been using the Ureal 3 engine.

They did everything they could do with superman. He is a very simple looking character. Its not that the graphics arent good. They are. Supermans look is just kinda boring compared to MK characters.

I don't know if anyone has come to relize... but the unreal 3 game... was based on events that happened in real time... like a MOVIE...so the graphics had to be top of the line... cause they were based on real people ideals.. LIKE YOU OR ME... high graphics...

What I like best is this myth people seem to carry that the Unreal 3 engine is a magical do-everything-for-you box that all you have to do is tell it what you want the character to look like and it'll create the model all by itself and that model will automatically come out looking exactly the same as Gears of War and that actual human artists don't have anything to do with it.

Unreal 3 is just a goddamn game engine. All it tells us is how high the bar CAN go, not how high it WILL be. It's not the artist, folks. It's not even the goddamn paintbrush! it's just the canvas.

I've seen much better cartoons.

It's not the render that is bad. It actually looks good.
The idea of inclunding him to the MK is bad.
Only if they change Superman name to Clark, and his costume to a more dark one or even to wear jeans with a black T-shirt and Boots, or Lethers like Terminator 2 , he will fit to MK. I like his body and his muschles, but I think he is dressed like a little child that goes to ask candy for halloween..
