I, me, personally think that some of the things Ed Boon says on Twitter are meant to be vague hints for MKX. I personally think that Ed Boon does NOT troll aaalll the time on his Twitter.

If he says he would prefer Tanya over Havik and Bo Rai Cho for a future MK game, I personally choose to believe that.

If there's 5 characters (besides Quan Chi, Shinnok, and Kenshi) from MK4-MKA making the roster, Tanya is one of them. She's one of the more popular characters from that era.

And the other 4? Fujin, Bo', maybe Havik and I don't know who takes the last place

It's hard for me to gauge the popularity of those newer characters. I used to think Shinnok and Li Mei were popular but it's hard to tell. Plus this site doesn't represent the entire fanbase at all, so there'd need to be a poll that every casual and "diehard" fan had easy access to.

But I personally like that list of yours, Fujin's never been a fave of mine but he definitely has potential.

If Quan Chi didn't exist, Tanya would already be konfirmed 100%, in my mind, right now.

I think proof of that is the MKDeception game.

At the time, I had no expectations whatsoever of seeing Tanya in MKDeception.
I was pleasantly surprised when I found out she'd be in it!

So, this all goes to show..... Tanya should have priority over many other karakters.

And think about all the karakters that Ed Boon already eliminated for MKX : Hsu Hao, Mavado, Moloch...... this all leaves A LOT of room for Tanya, I think......

Tanya shouldn't have priority over any characters really. Because she was in Deception as you said, shouldn't that give priority to the other characters for a chance to shine?

Popular karakters will always have some priority, in general.
Think about this, would the MK team really choose Jarek over Tanya for a spot in MKX, for example? So Quan Chi and Jarek would be the MK4 chosen ones? Just for the sake of having a chance to shine? That would be weird, in my opinion.

Tanya is supposed to be somewhat affiliated with Quan Chi and Shinnok. This would make more sense.

But of course, I'd like too see more "obscure", less popular karakters also return, from more recent games. Like Li Mei, Fujin or Havik. I would like to see Playstation-4 versions of these karakters!

To be fair, Tanya was relevant to the plot and affiliated with Shinnok at a time when Shinnok's plan was "conquer Edenia" and Tanya was his way in because her dad was a noble in Sindel's court.

Right now, there IS no Edenia.

I didn't really mean literally Reiko, Fujin, Kai and Jarek should be in the game over Tanya, but the way you said that she should be given priority over other characters just because she was a returning character and that makes her popular was a bit weird imo.

Popular characters do have a higher chance of being in the game, and I could see characters like Reptile, Kenshi, Ermac, Mileena, etc making it in over Tanya. Now that I think about it, she definitely has a higher chance than some of the characters just for being affiliated with Quan Chi/Shinnok.

It's just with Tanya's popularity level, I always consider her to be kind of matched with Fujin and Shinnok's popularity. I see a lot of fans from all three characters.

Edenia or no Edenia, I think John Vogel can always find ways to tweak the story a little bit.

Maybe Shinnok now just wants to take over the whole Universe in its entirety.
And Tanya will help Shinnok build a Spaceship to explore the galaxies.

This site has another article about it. But remember folks, just because character has been (possibly) assign a voice actor does not mean that they will be playable. Ed Boon said that we would see most of the Kast o' Kharacters through the story mode. I can only see 24 characters in this game, with maybe 1 or 2 unlockable characters on top of that.

If they managed to release 8 characters in dlc that would bring the roster up to 32 (behold my math skills) which would be awesome. 32 characters with 3 variant styles, already sounds deeper then Armageddon and MK 2011.

It only make sense to have characters from MK9 in story mode and not be playable, like sonya and cage, who already have a replacement, and introduce new characters or mk4-post characters like Tanya and Fujin, and others, who could be developed into more cool characters and have more interesting story behind them.

Instead of having all the mk9 characters again,

Goro
Quan chi
Ermac
Baraka
Mileena
Kenshi
Rain
Reptile
maybe cyrax or sector

so thats 14 returning characters, which will not be the case,

if the character select screen has 30 characters

that would be 16 new and mk4-post characters.

I've never understood the obsession with Tanya.. I think she's boring honestly. But that's just me.

Makes you wonder how many more retcons we'll have to suffer through if she is indeed in MKX.

Maybe freeing Edenia to become it's ruler will be her story driven goal this time.

On a side note, it's been so long, (and since you're the MK guru), why the hell did she want to help Shinnok in the first place? Unless there were empty promises involved, like with Reptile.

What's there to understand? It's all opinion. I think Scorpion is boring with his same old revenge you killed my family I hate sub zero blah blah story. But then I know he has fans that do like him. It's the same with Tanya. I personally think she's great and really hope she makes it into MKX as a playable character.
