She might as well just become "neutral" since her agenda is mostly about making herself better at any cost.

Yeah Tanya's interest lay in her own survival. That what she really cares about. If she can get some power or status along the way then even better.

I agree, but it is nice to have a backstory.

There are some characters and people who just have less of a conscience and don't feel bad about doing shitty things.

In the case of Tanya in particular, she's an Edenian, they are typically peaceful people. We don't know anything about Tanya pre MK4. Well we know she could have lived in Outworld for 10,000 years, but that's it. Tanya's past is a mystery, so there is a lot of potential there for something good.

In terms of the story of this game, I understand it's a sequel and it takes place post MK9-25 years in the future. I really want NRS to redeem themselves after the terrible story in MK9.

She was possessed in MKD. It made her look darker.

No one just wakes up one day and say, "I'm going to go out on a murder spree." There's reasons, and in this case, yeah there should be a reason for her betrayal to her home realm and their people.

And eh... you're the furthest thing from being evil. That isn't something to brag either, but that's just me.

Tanya is mysterious and that makes her interesting, her story line could go so many directions.

I feel like shes been forced to follow evil but eventually she gets them back, she killed Onaga in her mortal kombat deception and im sure she has killed many others when she gets a chance.

In my opinion I like her better with the white eyes and I dont see the dark make up as a mask and Ive never have.
the make up is unique among girls and is what makes her more mysterious and dark, it would be cool if there was an explanation to how the white eyes came about but I dont think is necessary.

the only think about tannya that i would like change if she happens to be in MKX is her fire abilities or projectiles how Boon likes to call it.

I preffer white like deception or purple like MK4

her fighting style needs to be update AND HER FATALITIES NEED TO BE LESS LAZY!!!!!

The ideal fatalities for her would be a combination of many of her fatalities from before.

Fatality #1

1- she approaches the victim very slowly with a very confident walk, she puts both of her arms on the victims shoulders and stares at their face for 2 seconds.

2- unexpectedly she does a handstand on the victims shoulders and does a split in the air and twists the victims head backwards.

3- while still on top of the victim, she kisses the victim, spiderman style, purple smoke or light goes into the victims mouth.

4-she closes the split and does a flit in the air landing 10 feet away from the victim and then the victim starts twisting breaking the victim a part.

Fatality #2

Tanya does the canon drill through the victim stomach,
when she breaks through the victim, she holds in her hand the victims intestines.

in slow motion you could see the intestines coming out of the victims stomach like a long string

then she stops the canon drill 10 feet away and she start pulling the victim and when the victim is 3 feet away she rips out the persons leg bones and stabs the victim in the face

To be fair, the plot of Halloween is exactly this.

Some people are born agressive, emotion-less, vengeful and narcistics, they are evil from the start.

Also I don't want Tanya to be some kind of victim, she must be very evil, and NEVER turn to the boring side of good, we have Princess Peach and her Green Slave for that. Really, Tanya is cool because she is evil, goodness and normal eyes like in that picture really spoil Tanya up, I would hate her instantly if she ever turned good. Ermac lost many points when he turned good.

I came to this thread because I had a post in another thread and then that thread disappeared and blah blah blah.

Anyway, I've always disliked Tanya. She's bland, has had an atrocious design in all of her appearances thus far, and she just seems, to me, to be another female tossed in to make the roster more diverse. I desperately hope that she's either in MKX and gets a massive character turn around, or that she's never seen again. Either redeem the character or abandon it, but I can't stand the way she has been in the past.

If Tanya looked like that in MKX I'd be more than happy. Great job!

Like I said, being an evil person isn't something to brag about. I know a few people who I consider evil, and their lives are not as peachy. But, this thread isn't about how people live their lives so I'm just gonna move on.



She doesn't need to be a victim of anything, but she certainly needs to have a reason to choose to betray her people and her realm, whether it's jealousy or whatever. Her just being plain evil with no motivation behind it not only dwells her into the bland zone again, but it also shows poor character development. Tanya is a character who definitely needs better direction when it comes to her character because this constant betrayal attitude can only last for several games before it starts getting stale and repetitive. Despite that we have characters who already have a stale and repetitive story, I'd appreciate if more characters don't fall into that state.

However, you comparing Kitana to Peach makes absolute no sense whatsoever since I hardly would consider Kitana a damsel in distress. At least she can fight her way rather than just letting her get taken.

Being a teenager trying to make yourself sound cool isn't "evil". It's just trying too hard, and it's something you'll feel embarrassed about when you get older and look back on the past. Trust me, every adult in the world spends their 20s and 30's regretting immature stuff their younger self said or did.

Even sociopaths need a reason to do bad things. Most of them in the real world become experts at hiding their lack of empathy and pretend to be normal so that they can participate in the beneficial aspects of this thing humans do that allows them to live easier, more comfortable lives called a "society".

To give that up in favor of struggle and violence, ESPECIALLY to give up a cushy aristocratic life as a member of a royal court by helping ACTUAL SATAN take over the world, requires a REASON.

AND I meant Kitana is good Edenian, we need evil Edenians. Turning Tanya into a good character is boring extremis.

Yeesh I don't wanna see Daegon any time soon. Rain and Tanya are great examples of Edenians that are evil and can contribute interesting storylines in the MK mythos.

Tanya isn't exactly evil, imo. She's just incredibly egocentric. She cares only for herself and her own survival, and that usually means to kill some people along the way, both good and bad guys.

I'm mostly interested in learning more about Tanya's past.

In regards to Tanya's powers, why does nobody ever mention black magic and voodoo? I mean she has direct contact with SHINNOK. I'm pretty sure black magic would fit her nicely.

hm... i'm pretta sure she is in the game. but for me she is just boring. her story could fit every other character. so she is a traitor? hotaru could also be a traitor or kai. this doesn't make her special. her move set is cammy 2.0. but i liked her mk4 fatality.

the problem i have with her is that i don't know how nrs gonna make her new and fresh for mkx. she needs complete new unique moves, maybe a new look.... otherwise she is boring as usual. i hope nrs has some good ideas for her. i give her a chance to shine but i have my doubts....

Her canon alignment is still evil.

She exclusively aligns herself with evil people for survival though. She sells herself as more of a survivor and a self serving person but she goes through dark channels exclusively to get what she wants. That's NRS problem though, to them neutral means evil.

That's all people throw out for her tbh. Not voodoo especially since Ashrah had that voodoo doll fatality but yeah, people want to see her use some magic.

Yeah they need to get rid of the cannon drill, it's a complete ripoff.
