Probably because back then, we didnt have the technology to do all this crazy shit so we focused more on story but now, we have the ability to do all this shit thanks to the programming but possibly ran out of ideas orrrrr we just cater to gamers nowadays who care for gameplay more than anything. All those EVOS and fighting tournaments.

It just happened right now, I didn't even think to screenshot it, it was really fast.

He was fighting as Quan Chi, and he performed a faction kill. Quan Chi says, "Smoke, destroy them!" and then Smoke pops up and passes through the opponents body, dismembering their head from the jaw up. It was... really anticlimatic. At first I thought it was his 2nd fatality and was very disappointed, lol.

His second faction kill said something about shurikens, if that means anything. The rest still had ??? on them.

This was on shin_dxb's stream!

On a side note, good for Takeda for managing to get with Jacqui among all the chaos. Well done, lad. Way to keep the eye on the prize.

Oh wait, apparently Smoke appears in the Lin Kuei faction kill, not the Brotherhood of Shadows, sorry about that.

You know, just thinking about the ending, wouldn't it be cool if;

- Raiden in his darkened crusade teams up with a mysterious and new Outworld deity. This Outworld deity turns out to be a brand new big bad, except the big bad is playing Raiden, pretending to help save both of their realms all while blinding Raiden with broken promises while trying to destroy them.
- Fujin teams up with Outworld Emperor (insert whatever character here if Kotal Kahn doesn't apply) and puts together their own team of Chosen Ones to go up against Raiden and Outworld Deity, knowing full well he's being played. They include the Scooby Gang, Bo Rai Cho, Li Mei, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Tanya, Rain and even the likes of Shang Tsung, who is forced to help the good guys before the two realms are wiped out entirely.
- Liu Kang, Kitana and revenants in limited role, story hints they may or may not have some involvement in helping come up with the evil deity's plans.

Man. Just the possibilities now.

I don't know how I feel about the ending. It's mind boggling to me right now and not what I expected. I'm very confused.

Guess I'll have to play the whole thing to determine if I like the direction they put the story in.

Speaking of MK11, since Raiden might be going dark...will Fujin FINALLY make it in an initial game? I mean damn. Deadly Alliance was a perfect opportunity for him to step in, missed, Deception was an even greater opportunity since Raiden has went nuts, missed. Almost made it into MK9 as DLC, missed. Should've made it into MKX but once again, missed, though he at least has been featured in story mode and might possibly make it as DLC but still not good enough.

Hopefully Fujin is an initial character in MK11. But idk, we had these same wishes and hopes for MKX but look how that turned out.

I hope to god MkXI will heavily focus on mk4-mkd characters.

Kang, Kitana and Lao are never resurrected. I get that.

How the hell does Sub-Zero wind up alive again? Since he... obviously does.

Furthermore, does Jax get ressurected? Seems like he does, since we see him alive speaking to Sonya and Cage in screenshots of the future. But some of the Dialogue between Jacqui and Kung Jin from what I saw of Chapter 4 last night made it sound like he was still dead at the start of the game.

How did some of these characters get resurrected, but not all of them? I assume that must be addressed right?

I doubt it.
