Liu's not shocking, but it would be, in my opinion at least, the best option.

The answer is right in front of us and we're all missing it. Who's been there since the beginning, watching the events unfold but never stepping into combat? This character has been biding his time since Mortal Kombat 1, and the time to strike is now! This begins the rein of Emperor Dan "Toasty" Forden. Think about it Boon said a fun returning character and "Toasty!" is always fun. He's even on the dummy character select screen, which Boon said has some clues. Boon's hiding him right in front of our faces people!

As far as who it will actually be, probably Raiden or Liu Kang.

A part of me suspects Tanya. She's certainly ruthless enough to make such a power grab. Or Liu Kang, though the more I think of it the duller it sounds.

I also suspect who ever it is will have a balanced playable version and a super powered boss version.

It could be Belokk or what the hell ? Tremor ?!! Or maybe Rain. Look at his MK9 end. Or Chameleon or Motaro :D Those are all my choices. We'll see who guessed right at the end oh and Meat !

Well, we all know that the surprise boss can't be Shao Kahn, Quan Chi, or Shang Tsung.

Shinnok would be the obvious answer but he said it was a suprise, so he's out too.

If it's Blaze or Onaga, that would be too obvious too.

Think of an evil character that is under rated.

I'm pulling out all of the evil characters that haven't appeared in the last game;
Reiko, Jarek, Mavado, Havik (sort of), Tanya, Kobra, Kira, Daegon, and Chameleon.

Think about these characters, and who would make the most sense.

Liu Kang would be pretty much an obvious choice even as a Zombie. It's still LuiKang.

A female would be a better choice as from MK1-9 were all male bosses.

Exactly. And a female boss could be nice if done correctly.

I'm on the Liu Kang band wagon. Honestly have been wanting him as a boss since Deadly Alliance. Find it interesting though that no one has said Argus. Though he is not a playable character he has appeared in two games. Why not have an Elder God as the boss?

Shujinko probably? Don't get me wrong he's a UNIMPRESSIVE character in Deception, but could he turn corrupted due to the time rift?

I would miss him in the roster tho... So I hope it will be like Shinnok, a playable boss!

Havik is perfect for a boss-fight. Chaos is so chaotic, many things can be done with those powers and chaos brings with it many changes, so Havik can change rapidly.

Maybe this could be a boss-fight that has multiple layers/levels to it, you have to beat the guy 3 times in different forms for example.

I wouldn't mind if Havik was just another character in the roster tho, because I really like him just for being in.

Dunno about the rest of you, but I wouldn't call an undead or godly Liu Kang fun. Or a fallen Raiden.

This goes for Shujinko also! Not a "fun" character.

Thinking Raiden or Liu Kang would be the "surprise boss" is fucking stupid. I'm sorry, but it's the most hair brained idea, to actually think they'd be a boss.

We do not need another Shao Kahn type. By this I mean, we had to pretty much spam the s.o.b in MK9. We do not need that in MKX.

Boon said a "fun" character will become the new boss. Raiden nor Liu Kang are fun. Raiden is electrifying and Liu is annoying and lame.



All endings are non-cannon, 'nuff said.

I'm still throwing all my money on Noob Saibot.

I'm imagining Shinnok attempts to take over the realms and fails. Scorpion and Sub-Zero both learn the truth about Quan Chi and both kill his ass. They then become semi allies/friends having defeated Quan and helping Raiden defeat Shinnok. Meanwhile Noob Saibot returns to the Netherrealm with Havik and makes his rise to power there.

Flashforward 25 years later. All of earthrealms finest have grown old, and low and behold the same shit happens again. Like history repeating itself, except this time it's Noob Saibot. Sub-Zero and Scorpion have both been Semi retired at this point, but both step out of hiding to help Raiden and earthrealms newest fighters (Cassie cage) help stop Noob Saibot from taking over Earth.

Rain- He is fun and has a pretty big fan base, and he is half god so the 25 year gap won't be much of a issue.

Blaze- cause fuck you

Chameleon-finally decide's to strike, secretly find out he has been posing as everyone and non of the events in MK actually happened. Chameleon is the last living creature playing out events he created in his deranged head, because he is now an immortal.



In all honesty I don't think it will be someone who was a boss prior to this game, and they won't be the obvious choice. Something during Shinnok's invasion and the Netherrealm invasion will make this person rule. Part of me thinks Dark Raiden, but idk. What if Boon's lover becomes the big bad? Scorpion kills Quan Chi and takes Shinnok's amulet. He then kills Shinnok and Raiden, making him as OP as boon wants. This is all speculation so no need to berrate it please.

After reading through this thread I feel a little disappointed. I was hoping the MKX would bring us a boss and sub boss that were new to the story. It's time mk bosses had deep gameplay and are nearly impossible to solve. Don't wanna see Liu or Raiden or some former playable boss. Damn.

I still hope that we will get a female boss, but, if not, I'm gonna rule out every ones guesses (even mine) on the male characters and say that will be the main boss.
