It was pink in the Sega versions. Definitely on Sega CD.

Anyway, I'm obsessed with her MK1 look - it's SO cool. They really showed Sonya some love by making that.

I don't think her other looks were sexually repressed though. Not having your breasts exposed or your ass hanging out doesn't mean you can't be sexy. Sonya's default for example is plenty sexy, and reminds me of Sonya in the beginning of the first MK movie.

Her primary was my fave until her MK 1 was released, but the others were too drab and they made her look flat chested, don't get me wrong I never want to see her primary MK9 outfit again, but I feel NRS went over board giving Sonya heavy outfits that looked too big on her petite frame. So her MK1 is a welcome contrast to the rest of them.

I'd rank her outfits in this game as follows

Mk1 (green)
primary general Sonya (alternate colour)

Tournament alternate colour

Kold war (drab colours)

Major blade (dullest)

She's hardly flat chested. And she's a fighter in the military, not a contestant in a beauty pageant. It makes more sense for her to be wearing armor, since she isn't a superhuman, unlike most of the others. Sonya's sexiness comes from her being a badass. Nobody complains about how clunky or baggy the guys' costumes are. Women, though, have to show their femininity and their curves.

I miss Red Sonya.

As far as her costumes go, i love the Major Blade one the most, it's pretty simple but beautiful. That should've been her tournament costume (since it's so similar to her actual tournament costume anyway) and she should've gotten something completely different as 3rd/major alt.

I love Major Blade, too; it's simplistic but exudes toughness, and is quite sleek. I like the texture of the vest and the "futuristic" design of the pants. Plus, it's what Sonya was wearing when she kicked all that ass in the Netherrealm lol so I'm partial. It's the one I pick most often now, followed by her primary, Tournament, and Kold War. All that's left now is for me to play a few times with her MK1 and see how it grows on me.



In other news, trying to pick up Special Forces for dat Brutality. Frustrating as hell, trying to time that Drone dive into combos -_-

For anyone who mains Special Forces: how do you usually play it? Do you hardly use combos, and try to keep your distance in order to fire the homing laser? What do you usually do when you're up-close with the opponent? Where's the ideal place for Sonya to be in a fight?

IMO Military Stance should be in ALL of her variations. Maybe with enough noise we could get them to correct that.

Haha she'd be crazy powerful if she had MS across all variations. That would mean a ridiculous, unrivaled mix-up game up-close, PLUS homing Drone projectiles and/or multiple grenades from afar. What the fuck would one even be able to do against a bitch like that? lol

I hope that's not it for Sonya in terms of costumes and dlc,

Currently I'm expecting a dlc classic fatality "kiss of death" and atleast one more costume.

I mean Johhny cage and Jax both will be at six costumes by the time tremor is released.

For Sonya I'd rank a possible sixth costume in the following preference,

MK4: high long ponytail is a must otherwise they shouldn't bother

MK9 Alternate but not as scantily clad, maybe let her wear her DA jacket with the shorts and a beret instead of cap.

MK3: Since we got Mk1 already I don't see a need for her MK3 but it would be nice to have.

As for other concepts,

Furiosa Sonya anybody? Sonya already has the face paint,WB owns the rights to mad max so why not?

Kill Bill Sonya, wearing the yellow Bruce Lee tracksuit.

Sarah Connor Sonya, would be too easy everything is already there in the game.


Let's hope Sonya gets more attention.

Military stance only gives you 3 extra moves, it wouldn't be that dramatic. It would just beef her up a little to be able to use it in every variation.

Also, side note, I hate her drone variations. When someone is wailing on you like there's no tomorrow, there's no time to do the command to bring the drone out and then do the command to have the drone do something.

Kiss of Death is back after a long hiatus, last we saw it was in MKvs Dc, hope the kiss animation is decent.

i'll actually want to do a fatality now, hope the Sonya love continues.

I think it's going to be similar to her backgrounds and kutie icon. Probably a pink puff with energy in it that will whirl over to them and then engulf them in flames.

While I'd be happy with her MK1 kiss of death I would be over the moon if she got her D.A kiss. One of my favourite fatalities in the series to date.

Hopefully it's something purple...they can do a lot more with that than with fire. (not that I would mind that either)

I'd rather be the MK1 version with the powder that bursts into flame instead of that weird purple electric field from MK3.

I hope the fatalities are reworked a bit to be more dynamic. A little wink before the kiss would be awesome.

i think its most likely a fire kiss, cause the black dragon faction has a faction kill which involves incenerating and in the spirit of NRS not having to do much they'll want to borrow that,

so the key to the fatality will be the spin they decide with the starting animation, will sonya blow a kiss via

purple mist
white powder
energy rings
or

will they troll us with another drone who'll do the flaming? i hope not.

Would be ecstatic if she got the MK4 or MKDA version, but i know she'll get the MK1 version

Somebody needs to hack the pc version and show us the fatality, the suspense is killing me, I don't want to be dissapointed.

Does anybody know how to do Sonyas 'Thigh Master' brutality without using the Demolition variation. I'm baffled as I can't find a combo around 5 hits that works with the leg grab in the other two variation

Finally they decided to give her the kiss of death fatality back! Finally! Now I hope Liu Kang gets his dragon fatality and everything is fine.
