Well, Raiden did have "helpers" in the MK comics. Rayne and Wynd. Also, in Raiden's ending in MK9, he divided himself up, or "chose" four earth-bound warriors and gave them some of his power.

There's a lot of ways they can bring new characters into the game without there having been alot of bumping and grinding going on in the last 25yrs. lol

Honestly, I can never see any of the earth realm characters retiring from a war of realms and settling down and having kids. Much less encouraging their kids to go fight themselves and putting them in danger.

They did, though it did't last long, because Rain messed it up.

No they didn't! There is nothing in any of his bios or info that states he and Kitana shared anything romantically. They only share Edenian blood and that's it. The only character we know of that had any kind of romantic interest with Kitana has been Liu Kang. Anything else has either been from the comics or other media that's not from the game.

The only time you see Kitana interact with Rain is to tell him about who his real father was and that he was killed by Kahn. That's really all that's there. Granted that was in a different timeline, but the one from 2011 just has him trying to lead armies.

They are telling you the truth, martin. The only time Rain and Kitana was ever romantically involved was in the non-canon cartoon. There never were any romance between them in the canon series.

At the very most, I'd be okay with one more direct bloodline descendant. I don't want to have too many characters on the roster, that are kids of old MK characters.

Like some others have already said, at most I'd be fine with students, or siblings, but I don't want to see everyone's kids attending the new tournament.
